Yummy! February, my sister ordered a champagne cake for my birthday and early retirement. It was beautiful and so delicious. What a special treat.
In March, my great niece had almond, chocolate, and champagne cake for her wedding. Again, it was simply delicious. The chocolate tasted like an old-fashioned homemade chocolate cake. Yum!
I stopped in the shop recently, and the staff was friendly and as delightful as their baked goods!

They were so amazing to make sure we had everything perfect for my sons Harry Potter Birthday Party ❤ (we added the hats and wings) but the flavor was perfect, they were accommodating to make the cupcakes with different color centers, and even took the time to hand paint the golden cake balls so we would have the perfect snitches. Will be coming back every year ☺

Ordered an 8 inch round a few days before a friends birthday- the lemon cake was delicious and the decoration was great. I really appreciate that they were able to do a great cake with a little less notice.

What can I say again about this amazing bakery. The Bake Shoppe once again saved the day with an amazing champagne cake. Diane and Cindy I thank you so very much for going out of your way to help me.

I am never disappointed on the service or the baked goods purchase. On Valentine's I purchased cookies with my Granddaughter's names and heart shaped champagne cakes for friends, I of course treated myself and they were as beautiful as they were delicious! This is the only place I order my cakes from and would highly recommend them. They are known for their champagne cakes and cupcakes!

I'm a little delayed in this review but I got a cake last month for a birthday party, and the staff was up to the challenge and fully delivered an adorable and fun dinosaur cake! It tasted great too!! I also grabbed a lemon poppy seed cake on the way out for myself and LOVED it. Staff are super friendly too!

We had a great birthday celebration with our custom made Sonic cake! Great job everyone!

Let me begin by saying I have a sweet tooth. Actually sweet teeth.

This shop made my mouth water. Cakes, cupcakes, bars, rolls, bread, cookies. And it all looked yum.

I left with an Ida May bar, a mini cheesecake, a snickerdoodle and a couple cinnamon rolls.

Well worth the visit. Looking to going back to try the lemon bars. And chocolate chip cookies and…

Get there early. Fruit turnovers, fruit tarts and no baked bars are good. But the red velvet and champagne cupcake are the best. Small tables to enjoy, but most buy to go.

Great customer service (I even felt comfortable asking for recommendations) and a wide variety of baked goods to choose from.

I ordered a slice of champagne cake, mini petit four, and a mini chocolate bundt cake. So far the petit four was delicious (not dried at all) but very very sweet. Glad I only got the mini!

I haven't tried my other goodies yet but they look and smell delicious! I'll definitely be back.

The Bake Shoppe is one of our favorite local bakeries for a sweet treat, and they were absolutely amazing to work with. I had an idea for our cutting cake, and they admitted they had never done anything like it before but were willing to work with me on it. When I first saw it on our wedding day I actually yelled about how perfect it looked and the TASTE absolutely blew us away. I think now our wedding anniversary tradition will be ordering this cake each year! We can’t recommend them enough!

Ordered cupcakes for my son’s bday. These were great! Not dry or bland (had a lot of dry, flavorless cupcakes) timely and had a lot of variety on the shelf. Since it was Halloween time, she had a brain cake for sale so we grabbed that too. Delicious! We did add a bit to the cupcakes but everything was delicious.

Their petit fours are probably my favorite food. I’ve been getting them every year for birthdays and special events. One year, my mom even had them decorate the petit fours with olives (for my name). Also, they do tons of other cute designs like graduation caps and flowers.

I have also had several other items from The Bake Shoppe and they have all been so delicious. Best place to get cakes in Des Moines!

Bought a spur of the moment birthday cake today. It was a limited special - citrus cake. It is the absolute best cake I’ve ever eaten. It has such a fine texture and perfect flavor and icing. Perfection in cake form!

Great little bakery. I got a pink champagne cake for the first time and it was absolutely fabulous!! The lady at the counter was explaining to me how it's the original recipe the shop was built on. It was quite interesting hearing that story! Had a good variety of other items as well and my husband loved the cheesecake bites! Highly recommend stopping here for some sweets!!!

The Bake Shoppe completely blew me away with my nightmare before Christmas cake for my baby shower. I had a hard time finding any shops that do fondant but when I called this place Amanda told me she could and saved the day. Very beautiful cake and it tasted super good. Got lots of compliments. 10/10 would come back.

This is the best Bakery in the Des Moines metro! They are so friendly and helpful! The best part about this place is that the cake looks adorable every time but it TASTES amazing, too! I love this spot in Windsor Heights.
