Baymont by Wyndham Des Moines Airport

This place is great! Breakfast was the BEST! It has a heated pool, dry sauna, hot tub, game room, snacks for sale, the rooms were clean and it was all at a good price. We plan on staying here every time we're in the area.

One of the best experiences in Des Moines Iowa. The staff is so friendly, and the amenities are amazing. The breakfast has everything you might like from cereal, biscuits, waffles and pancakes. The pool and hot tub is a must try if you stay there. The only issue is the location as it is a little far from the downtown, but still accessible in 30 minutes max.

My husband and I stayed here for one night before catching an early flight, and having stayed at several of the airport hotels over the years, I can say without a doubt this was the best Des Moines airport hotel I have ever stayed in, and it beats some other cities, too. For a very competitive price, we had a huge, clean and very quiet room. There's a lovely pool, that alas, we did not get to enjoy as a very large and rowdy family was there the same night as we were and I don't think anyone else could have fit in there, lol. But we did enjoy some time in the sauna and we made use of the well stocked mini-shop in the lobby. The staff were AMAZING and very helpful - they even had a list of local restaurants ready to go so we could get a nice meal before turning in. Breakfast the next day was the usual free breakfast fair, but the biscuits and gravy beat most of the restaurants I've tried, and everything was well-stocked. I haven't enjoyed a hotel stay as much as I enjoyed this place in years - I didn't want to leave! Baymont by Wyndham DM Airport will be my future go-to for a place to stay in Des Moines.

We brought a group of 20 here. They were very helpful, flexible, and affordable both before and during our visit. We came during the recent cold snap, so it was important that the heat was working well which it was. There was also plenty of parking, and it is <10 min from the airport which was convenient.

If this is how Baymont runs all their hotels...I will never stay at any other hotel but them.

Great hotel. Super affordable and excellent accommodations. Hotel was quiet. Rooms very clean and comfortable. The toiletries were great. Smelled amazing. Love that there was liquid hand soap instead of tiny bars. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Good hot selection, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, biscuits, gravy, prepared oatmeal, waffles and pancakes. Continental selection, bagels, breads, English muffins, pastries, Donuts, muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice, coffee. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of amenities like pool, jacuzzi, fitness center, recreation room with arcade and billiards, big convenient store. Definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed here two separate nights on a road trip we took and both nights were very nice.
The pool area is large and the pool goes to 9 feet deep which, as an adult, makes swimming more enjoyable. There's also a hot tub, but we didn't use it either time. There was also a dry sauna that we didn't use, but maybe next time!
We stayed in rooms with two queen beds, one TV, a mini fridge and a microwave. This was very convenient because we brought our own food for the trip, so being able to store and make our own food helped save us money.
I also liked that the room not only had a full bathroom, meaning it had a tub/shower combo (I wish hotels would stop doing just a shower, especially when you have children travelling with you), but there was also another sink outside of the bathroom that we could use when the bathroom was occupied. Two sinks in a hotel room is a very nice amenity when travelling as a family.
There were lots of plugins in our room as well to charge our phones and tablets.
They also have a 24 hour snack shop at the front desk where they carried bottled drinks of all kinds, snacks and frozen pizzas.
The hotel also has a workout room, entertainment room (couches, TV, two pool tables, some video games), and nice outdoor seating.
There was a room to purchase what looked like shirts, jackets, etc for some sort of racing group. It would've been nice if they had actual souvenirs to purchase. Like magnets or keychains that said "Iowa" or "Des Moines" on them.
The staff were very nice and friendly and helpful.
They have a very good breakfast buffet with 3 cereal options, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, make your own waffles, biscuits and gravy, coffee, juice, and donuts and fruit. Everything was very good!
The only takeaway I have from staying here is, if you are staying on the first floor, do NOT stay in rooms 122 through 125. They are directly across from the breakfast room and you can here everything from set up (which seems to start around 430-5 am) and that was bothersome. So for our second night I asked for a corner room away from there and it was much, much quieter.
I also liked that the hotel was a little outside of Des Moines which made for a quieter place and some pretty scenery.
10/10 would stay here again!

Don’t let the outside look of this hotel or the large semi trucks around fool you; this hotel has so much to offer on the inside. It was clean, the gym was excellent and staff were so helpful! I booked directly through the hotel and was emailed the morning of check in that I can notify them when I was on my way and see if my room was ready early. There was even a free ice maker which was great for travel and just bringing water to the room. It smelled very clean and honestly, everything was. You can’t beat the price and the location is great for going into the city or west Des Moines as we were about 20 minutes from everything. I can’t speak on the breakfast since we wanted to try the local faire but I can tell you l was tempted on the daily by the smell alone. I’ll definitely be staying here again on my next visit!

We started with “why is a 2-star hotel getting 4.5 star reviews”. we’re leaving with “why is a 4.5 reviewed hotel only rated 2 stars?”

this hotel can be summarized this way- it’s a 4.5-5.0 star in the most important areas, a strong 4ish in nice to haves, and less than 4 in thjngs that ultimately don’t matter.”

the 5s- bed and bed sheets! size of room. AC unit (quick, powerful, and quiet!)

the 4s- excellent bathroom amenities and supplied soaps, shampoos. even an extra sink outside bathroom and a separate filtered drinking water tap. nice wall mounted tv and appointments.

the rest- aesthetics isn’t where they poured money into- it’s the shower product, ac, and bed/sheets.

this location is very clean, quiet, efficient and courteous.

any negatives?
- a bit behind the times on outlets and charger ports provided.
- shower controls were a bit loose and slower reacting water temp to your input.

definitely the hotel we’re using whenever we’re in town (say a baseball game at the field of dreams).

This hotel was wonderful! The rooms are large and very clean. The hotel staff is so friendly and met all of their needs. The breakfast was wonderful. The pool and spa area was great. I will definitely be staying in a Baymont again!

The hotel rooms were very clean, bed was comfortable, pillows were comfortable, service was pleasent and quick, and the hotel parking lots felt safe and secure for our vehicles. We stayed one night and overall it was a good experience.

The room was great, the staff outstanding. Location was close to where we needed to be. Also close to airport even though we were not flying. We very much enjoyed our stay!!!

We stayed here during the Iowa State Fair. The rooms were great and the free hot breakfast was out of this world!! Biscuits & gravy, sausage, bacon, eggs as well as any kind of toast or cold breakfast you could want. They even has a oatmeal bar. Would recommend 5⭐

Highly recommend! Great services, amazing pool area, and good food. Clean rooms (except behind the night stand, needed an extra outlet so had to move it and was pretty gross behind it), clean pool.

The beds were soft, it was quiet, the breakfast is worth it alone! Very clean rooms. Would stay here again.

It was a few miles from the interstate, but a beautiful area and it was extremely peaceful and quiet. The room was clean and breakfast was good.

The front desk gentleman Jamiel was amazing, very informative and kind! Your housekeepers do an amazing job as well, room was very clean!
