Absolutely beautiful and brilliant park. The equipment is all ability inclusive. My 10 month old and 2 year old had a blast. So much for them to do and to climb on. Had a great time. The restrooms are closed for the winter but there is a portable potty there if you need it.

Raccoon River Park is amazing. A great 3 mile loop trail around the park with a connecting trail system coming soon, it's perfect for a daily walk, run, or ruck. Spring/Summer are always fun also with all the water activities like stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, fishing, etc. The new park is amazing for kiddos also - such a great upgrade. 10/10 you'll love it here.

This park is absolutely amazing!! We went with our three year old grandson and from the little houses to play in to the built in hills and slides he was able to run and climb to his hearts content! The space for all of the playground activities is well laid out so that kids can run and play without interfering with the older kids. Even my adult son enjoyed the "running up and down the bumpy hills". A trail to walk on is also a plus!! Definitely a great park for kids of all ages to run and play!!

Pleasant three part dog park. One section for littles, one more open section, one slightly larger with woods and trails. Completely fenced. Easy to buy day or annual pass online, including with QR code on-site (DSM city, you need to copy West DSM here). Lovely setting, good entry and bags provided.

Amazing playground and they keep it clean. Actually a kid came by picking up cig butts and any other microscopic trash he could find.

Love it. I’ve only been twice but my puppy likes it. The small and big divisions I think are great because she’s small and timid at first.

Great park with lots of walking paths. Fun for everyone- a beach, fishing locations, kayak launch area, playground,  shelters, you name it they’ve got it.. no raccoons tho.

We loved having the nature lodge as our venue for my husband's birthday party! Reasonable rate, cozy room, and helpful staff! A beautiful winter sunset was the perfect bonus for the end of our party.

Beautiful softball complex and a great a place to play. Unfortunately they don't have the ability or desire to handle even small amounts of rain. So I would give them 1 star in their ability to handle mother nature. For the community of Grapevine fewer out of town teams will play there .... if games are canceled so easily.... fewer hotel rooms, food and gas. But it will always be nice to look at....😎

A personal favorite.
I love, love to walk the trails here. I often get purposely lost by water's edge on the weekends. Great place to kayak within city limits. Sometimes I see more dogs swimming than humans even. I should stop here. If this was a girl I was complimenting, her head would explode with pride by the time I was done!

Great place to take the family for a fun day. Playgrounds are clean and have many activities for the kids to play on and keep busy. They have some good trails to walk and run or even bike. Lots of wild life in the woods. The trails have kybos very noceon them for bathroom breaks. Very clean and well kept park. Good parking lots and access to the boat ramp and beach is convenient.

Loved it! Will definitely return. Beach was clean and water was well maintained! Kids enjoyed themselves. I liked the "beach showers" available to clean off. The kids enjoyed the playground and Iit appears all inclusive with wheelchair ramps. Clean bathrooms and very nice shelters that were all rented out with families enjoying the day!

The place is one of my favorites to relax and get away from city life. Go in deep enough and you can eventually get away from most people. If you do hike the deer trails wear pants, your ankles will thank you later!

Great park to take a stroll in or take a swim at the beach. The Nature Lodge is open during normal business hours if you have questions or need a place to cool off. Wheelchair accessible facilities. There are also kayak and paddle boat rentals. Great place for kids. They have a nice playground ( currently under construction) that looks like it will be all-inclusive once it is complete.

It's one of the best dog parks around. You can take a leash free walk on a nice long trail, in addition to just letting the dogs play with each other.
Registration is required so make sure you are covered for that and also bring your own water for the dogs as taps are off during colder winter months and open only from April onwards.

Lots of great paved and non paved trails. The dog park is large and a great place for the pup to exercise. The building is under construction and there is some additional buildings being built. Great playground. I didn't see any water fountains though.

This park is one of the often forgotten treasures in Des Moines. For 5$ you can get a pass to the dog park, which is unparalleled in the area. Our dogs had a blast running around in the large area with the woods. We then got a chance to walk over towards the beach. It is definitely a place that you should check out!
