Came in to the lobby to deposit a check for rent and Ashley the teller was absolutely amazing. Made me feel right at home and was very personable!! I really hope to see her every time I come in!!

I've been with this bank for over 30 years. In the past, they have been great. This year, I am currently traveling in Europe, and even though I have spent a significant amount of time on the phone, with the call center and someone at a branch, the bank keep declining my debit card transactions. It seems to be frustrating even for the people who work there. I cannot get to my money here, because the system keeps automatically flagging them as fraudulent. This is despite my having clearly established my travel dates and locations, twice, and asked them to allow me to use this card. I am having to use a different account with a different bank. If I did not have this other account, I would be in a genuinely dire situation, because even when they did everything they had access to in order to make it would work, the card still got automatically declined. One representative suggested I enable text notifications, so the bank can text about it. Despite repeatedly trying it, the bank's automatic system would not send text notifications to my phone number, so that I could approve those as a way of verifying I am not fraudulently using my own money. So they are essentially not allowing me to access my own cash, while I am on vacation, and the people I speak to on the phone are unable to do anything about it. The people who work for the bank seem nice and are trying hard, but the automatic fraud detection system is far out of line - someone else could end up in a dangerous situation with no way to pay while abroad, and no way to contact someone. And the online banking system just won't let me do what I need to in order to be contacted while traveling. So, be aware, if you are planning to travel, that First Interstate has a super-trigger-happy fraud system and even the agents can't input your travel info and make sure you can even get to your own money.

While I appreciate First Interstate Bank giving me a fairly large loan with limited credit history, I do not appreciate them never answering the phone or calling me back. I have tried calling them over 10 times over a month or so and not ONCE has anyone picked up. That's unacceptable

Bought out my bank and I'm already unhappy with them. My bank started charging me $2 for printed, mailed statements which had been free when they said they were now First Interstate last February. First interstate employee last winter told me the only way to avoid this was to go to their website and register for online e-statements. First Interstate employee yesterday that I talked to in person said that they weren't actually the bank till this May and that the cost of the statements I've been having charged to my account for the last 4 or 5 months wasn't their fault because I am eligible for free mailed statements.

Also they sent out a brochure that talked about the changes and totally neglected to mention what to do about direct deposits, just about online bill pay. I called and spent over 40 minutes on hold, someone finally answered and then disconnected the phone call. I had to go to the downtown main office and talk to someone in person about this.

I also have over 3 1/2 boxes of checks that I bought last fall that are going to become useless as of December. I'd just ordered new checks, enough to easily last decades since I rarely write them anymore, and I had enough spare money to put in a large order for once. And now I have to start over.

Their westside branch is far more inconvenient than the one that was in Family Fare, and to get home I have to turn across two lanes of traffic going the opposite way no matter which exit I use.

I liked Great Western Bank which they bought out. I am already unhappy enough with First Interstate that I am seriously considering closing my account and finding a different place to bank with.

Had to request my debit card 4 times over 4 months and it never came and they wouldn't help me. It wasn't until I finally told them politely "Look, I can't keep doing this, I'm switching banks" that they arranged a deal to have the card sent to their location which took another two weeks. Finally I get my card and use it, come to find out my billing address was changed to their bank's address. No wonder my card wouldn't come, I guarantee they had my billing address wrong in the first place which I confirmed with the STURGIS First Interstate Bank in 5 minutes. Sheer incompetence is all that was torturing me! You'd think if a guy calls and says once, twice, thrice, FOUR TIMES that they've requested the card and it hasn't come- MAYBE YOU SHOULD CONFIRM THE ****ING ADDRESS, RIGHT??!??? NOPE, That would require too much brainpower to conclude, apparently.
I'll never come here if I need anything related to banking. Save a ton of time and stress and just call up the First Interstate Bank literally anywhere else so you can get what you need without waiting four and a half months. I have no idea what these people are doing all day, but it aint their jobs.

Not even one star! I am vacationing in France and I called for help because I couldn't retrieve my password to check my account and the person on the phone was absolutely unhelpful and quite rude and hung up on me....I am going to another bank upon my return...Unbelievable!

I work for a company that holds a significant number of high yield accounts at this bank and due to circumstances right now, I have had to cash my payroll check here instead of my normal bank. After 1 payroll check, they have now begun to charge $10.00 to cash payroll check here drawn on their bank simply because I do not hold a personal account there. This is not a way to impress anyone including the businesses you serve.
