The store is huge, clean, & well-kept, with a nice selection of meat & a tremendous selection of beautiful produce.

There were over 130 different cheeses available at the cheese counter on the day I visited, ranging from funky blues to rich triple cremes & cave-aged cheddars from around the world. They ranked 2nd out of all U.S. Fred Meyer stores in cheese sales, according to the counter attendant.

The store has an upscale, Metropolitan Market feel without the upscale prices. Whether you're looking for a nice steak, top quality produce or that special cheese to liven up your (post-COVID) cheese tray, this is your store.

(Note: Seattle prices across the board, including groceries, are slightly higher than comparable businesses outside the Seattle metro area due to the living wage initiative passed a few years ago. The difference isn't significant & helping to support a living wage for traditionally underpaid workers is well worth the slightly higher prices, IMO, but you should be aware of the difference if you're visiting from outside the city.)

They have the lowest prices for a lot of things. I particularly like the fish department. Excellent presentation of what they have in stock---and they even offer complimentary garnish, like fresh lemon & lime slices. It's nice to see the same counter staff each time I come by, unlike at other stores. The self-service checkout pricing screens, however, are frustrating when trying to figure-out if discounts have been applied. The check-out staff are available to help when the machines frustrate the consumer.

Post COVID store shelves have looked empty as those I've seen in Soviet era photos, so I was a bit overwhelmed by their inventory. And very pleased that flesh and blood cashiers are available! Hah! "Cashiers?" Shows how old I am! Scanners? In any case, real people help you purchase products.

Good deals. A lot more you can save if you have their app. Especially on gas.

This is a great Fred Meyer! The only downside is far beyond their control and that is the horde of homeless terrorizing the city as a whole.

Good for whatever you need. From groceries, clothing, hardware, and much more, this is a one stop shop.

I bought a bunch of stuff from here including camping materials, recreational things, and groceries.

They have a curbside pickup, so if you want, you can order online and pick-up in your car.

I love every person that works at the pharmacy. They go above and beyond for myself and my husband. The Manager Lim calls me when she has concerns about medication or services that my might affect our health.
I consider her a friend.
Each one of the staff works long hours, the environment is complex and requires attention to detail. They are always kind and courteous.

Lowest prices (in Ballard) for most things.

I gotta say this is the most complicated 5 star review I’ve ever written. I love to hate this place. I hate to love this place. Every time I go it is the best of time and the worst of times. They never have exactly what I’m looking for but always have something I didnt know I needed. There is always a huge line to check out because they don’t have adequate staff. There is always something kind of sketchy going on outside, but it’s all part of the charm after a while. Whenever I think about going to any other grocery store I think to myself, heck I should live a little. I give this place 5 stars. Who IS Fred Meyer? If anyone knows Fred… Mr Meyer if you will, personally send him my regards.

A great selection of everything you need to keep everyone in your family happy and healthy. Make sure you get the weekly specials along with looking for items that are on sale in the store. There is always coupon to clip or a bargain to find. It truly is a one stop shop with everything your looking for.

I love this place.. all the employees are so nice. Shoutout to Kenna who kept searching for an item for me that was sold out and tracked me down in the store when she found one in returns to make sure I got it before I left!

The clicklist pickup for groceries is so easy! They do a great job and it’s well worth the $5 charge. Service is always fast!

Fred Meyer is a great place to go for all your shopping needs if you need several different items from groceries to hardware too electronics and plants stay pretty much have it all they sell clothing shoes toys and I'm sure I'm forgetting a whole lot more oh they also have office supplies and furniture towels and linens kitchen supplies books automotive section. The staff are usually very very nice and very helpful a very clean store and have really fresh produce they have a jelly with delicious food it's just an all-around great score for your One stop shop

Employee Andy in mens wear area provided exceptional help in assisting my purchase of a pair o Levi’s. Sounds simple, but her attention to my questions and just overall communication regarding the product was beyond what I have experienced. Thank you for employing this kind of staff member.

I love their pickup service! It’s been especially useful since I injured my hand. Even when some of the items are out of stock, I’m always very satisfied and impressed with the substitutions they pick. (^: the staff is very efficient and friendly too!
