We stopped in to get a light lunch to take back to our hotel on a Saturday and we were pleasantly surprised by how well stocked this store was given its size. There were a lot of cool things to an out of towner and we were able to still get a very local type lunch even though we stopped at a grocery store. Lines moved fast though the cashier was far more concerned with their personal conversations than with assisting customers. But if I was local I’d be here a lot!

Don’t let the size fool you. These folks know their market and the store is very well stocked. I live around the corner and usually visit about three times a week. I can’t remember ever needing something they did not have. They cater to the people of the French Quarter and know what to stock. It can get incredibly busy, especially around Noon or when there is a festival or event in town. The lines at the registers can be long, but do move fast.

They carry nice produce, have a large wine and liquor department and their prices are in line. They also have a small meat and cheese department with a good variety especially given the size of the store.

This is a perfect corner grocery. Has all the essentials, even Hubig's Pies, right by the cash register -- chocolate ones now, too! Produce is fresh; cold, local Holy Roller beer is sold by the can; nuts, crackers, chips, Elmer's CheeWees, packaged salads and sandwiches abound; and the staff is both efficient and friendly.

Great spot in the French Quarter on Royal near the cathedral. We picked up some fresh fruit. They have a great range of options. Really friendly staff.

This locations late night hours are incredibly convenient for service workers in the French Quarter. They have a decent enough selection for a tiny grocer. The employees are sassy but in a good way. The prices are a bit higher than other locations but nothing I wouldn't expect in the quarter. I am willing to pay for the convenience of a grocer open until 1am, a mere block from where I work.

Convenient for tourist and locals whom reside in the French Quarter. Prices are no different from other Rouses, but they do not follow the company’s weekly sales ad. Clean, but extremely tiny space-as expected with French Quarter shops.

Great place to shop! The boudin were out of this world and the staff was so helpful when I asked them any question about their products.

This us a crowded market with narrow aisles, but the place is hopping and happening! They are so friendly and helpful and polite. It is much larger than it seems from the outside, and it feels like it goes on forever! They have tons of liquor and food and paper goods and meat and gosh and drinks and pretty much anything you need. They keep the lines moving pretty fast and it’s actually fun to shop there!!

For a grocery store that’s smaller than today’s average supermarket, they have managed to have the vast majority of what I needed on any given shopping trip. Last time it was anchovies. They had ‘em!
Then there’s the added benefit of the chance to see Doreen Ketchens and her family performing outside on Royal Street.

Who’d a thunk it🤔A supermarket right in the middle of Royal street. Well I’m glad it was there and that I went in because I found a seasoning a friend had asked for me to buy while I was in New Orleans. And I got it cheaper than the souvenir shops were charging by $2+ Cha-Ching! They have a guy that opens the door for you, security maybe, and helpful employees too.

Anytime I travel to a touristy area and need a grocery store I expect to get gouged on prices to some degree. I was pleasantly surprised that this store in the heart of the French quarter had good prices on everything I needed. Also the amount of stock that they cram in here is pretty awesome. They usually will have what you need. Cool store.

Rouses Market is conveniently located near the heart of the French Quarter and our hotel 3 blocks away. The market seems small from the street view but they have a fairly large selection of items offered at a much larger grocery stores. Items include pre made deli meals, snacks, produce, dairy, alcohol, personal items and other household products. I was impressed with their hot sauce and Cajun seasoning selections and prices. A 4 oz bottle of Crystals Hot Sauce was only $1.47 as compared to the same item at a nearby tourist souvenir shop price around $5.

They manage to pack a lot of stuff inside this small but clean and well organized supermarket. We were able to find everything we needed and prices are reasonable

Much love to Sammantha! She’s my favorite cashier, and always sends me off with a smile and warm energy! This is my go to grocery store when in the French Quarters. Love the staff, consistency in fresh produce, and clean store. Pricey but worth it. No parking. They also have a large selection of liquor, bar and home supplies.

Better late than never. Unfortunately we didn't run across this until the last day we we were staying. No price gouging in the French Quarter. We stopped in to see how much Vodka cost and ended up leaving with a basket full of beer for the night, the Vodka, a bunch of seasoning, sausage

Very happy

Great grocery in the middle of the French Quarters. This place will have everything you need whether you are looking for something to cook in your hotel, a quick snack or a refreshing drink. Staff is friendly and helpful. The place is well stocked and merchandised well for the limited space they have. Thanks Rouses!

I have shopped here so many times every time I am in NOLA. The best spot to buy booze while in the middle of The French Quarter!! I always stay at Bourbon Orleans Hotel so this is a quick walk back to the room... or back to Bourbon st...
