My wife and I had a wonderful half day trip with Dave. Despite the heat wave, we landed a few big trout! Dave was a great teacher for my wife who had never fly fished before and I learned a bunch as well! Thanks for a memorable day.

Many thanks to our guide Macy and Dakota Angler & Outfitter for a great fly fishing experience while we were in South Dakota. Macy put us on the fish, even with higher than normal creek flows. She taught us alot, and helped my wife catch her 1st fish on fly rod. Macy was knowledgeable, patient, energetic, and fun. We had a great day on the water!

I am an outfitter in Montana and have made several online purchases of items I couldn't find locally. Shipping has always been fast and if I have had questions or issues with my order, (the issue was of my own making), a response has always been quick and the issue resolved.

This shop was great to get a guided fly fishing trip lined up with. We had a fantastic time fishing with Bret and would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to go. We caught a ton of fish and he was excellent at teaching us new fly fishing techniques. One of the best fishing experiences we have had!

Dave and Macy were wonderful guides for our party of 4. Between the 4 of us we caught 59 fish in just under 4 hours. Upon arrival they had all of our gear set out and ready to go. They were knowledgeable, patient, and fun. They were especially patient and fun with my 9 year old who had a blast. Could not recommend this outfitter more for beginning fly fishermen.

This shop is amazing! My boyfriend and I came out here from Minnesota to fly fish, unsure where we should be going because we are not familiar with the area. We started by coming here based on how much helpful information they had on their website alone. The employees pointed us in the direction of places to fish, what flys are best, and even advice on campgrounds. We caught the biggest rainbow trout we’ve ever seen on the first cast of the trip, so we can confirm their advice is trustworthy. They know what they’re talking about, and all were eager to help. Very genuine staff, very organized store. Will definitely be pointing everyone in their direction!

Our first time fly fishing and we had a great experience learning how to fly fish. Ryan, our guide, was patient and explained the details as we fished a handful of spots in Rapid City. My first catch was a beautiful Rainbow Trout 27” and about 14lbs! Caught a few others but more importantly learned how to fly fish! Even though it was very hot we had a great time! Thanks to Ryan.

This is a great store. It's a five hour drive for me and well worth the trip. My one and only visit so far was a great experience. The inventory is huge and has everything you could ever ask for related to fly fishing. The staff is friendly and helpful. I have ordered several times from their website and have never been dissatisfied with any of my purchases. I look forward to the day I return and hope to secure a guide service and/or attend one of their fly fishing schools. Please support your small businesses!

Awesome shop with a great selection! Caught a bunch of these nice Montana Rainbows on their balanced leech patterns I purchased online. Bought more in the store today.

Amazing experience both in the water with Dave, and in the shop with the rest of the knowledgeable and kind staff. They are down to earth and super-helpful even for novices like myself. If you are fly-curious, you gotta go here.

Highly recommend this guide service. My wife and I had no experience fly fishing before but our guide, Bret, was a great instructor. He was very patient and knowledgeable and he gave 110% to get us on some fish. Was a fun time.

Cant say enough great things about this outfitter! We booked them for a 4 hour fly fishing trip. Our guide was Macy, and she was so patient with us, explaining what to do etc. she was easy to talk to and moved us around some to great spots. Both my husband and I caught fish, rainbow and brown trout for catch and release. The whole experience was so much fun. Cant wait to do it again! If you’re in the rapid city area, book with this company, they are seriously the best!

Went on a family vacation to SD and wanted a guy trip of one of my favorite things to to which is fly fishing for trout. These guides are the absolute best, patient, knowledgeable, guys to go out and fish with!! Caught the biggest rainbow that I have ever caught and my buddy hooked a HUGE brown, no kidding at least 30. Our guide Shawn can tell you about that true story when you book a outing. I have done a few reviews and not many but when you get great service it needs to be noted.! My 80 year old father and I are absolute novices when it comes to fly fishing. Enter Bret Oeltjenbruns of Dakota Anglers. This gentleman is one of the nicest people I've ever met. Super knowledgeable about fly fishing AND he had the patience of Job. He put us on the Rainbow and Browns. I lost count! He made a memory that both my father and I will share forever.
