Residence Inn by Marriott Portsmouth

Rooms were great, spacious, nice staff, hot showers. Everything was clean and a bunch of room. A lot of pillows which I love. The staff was very helpful when we discovered there was no ice machine. They got ice from the kitchen for us. The breakfast was amazing. Alot of choices and a great deal of vegan choices as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay. Very close to Sig Sauer factory. Great location to get to other places. Staff is SUPERB. Very attentive and accomodating.

We have stayed at the Residence Inn at 1 International Drive each weekend, weather permitting, for the entire ski season. Traveling with our ten year old granddaughter each weekend, my wife and I are extremely careful about where we stay. This Marriott is a perfect 10 in all categories. The rooms are spotlessly clean, roomy, providing needed privacy that grandparents need, all amenities to cook a meal or make snacks to watch TV. Our granddaughter loves the pool, which large,crystal clear, and according to her, very warm. The staff at the desk is extremely friendly and helpful. Always greeting our granddaughter by name, making her feel very special. This hotel truely has become a wonderfully safe and comfortable, home away from home.

Great location and accommodations for a 4 month stay. I would be amiss if I didn’t recognize the staff - I completely understand the struggle regarding staffing these days - Arno, Holly, Karen, Kelly, Luke, Paul (best hands down), Sabrina, and I hate to name names as I invariably will not mention someone and I do want recognize the entire team. Thank you for making my stay enjoyable! I wish you much success 😌

We weren't planning on staying as long as we did (waiting to move into our new place), but we are thankful for the amazing space and team! Arso, Gunnar, Luke, Holly and everyone we encountered at the RI were fantastic. We even checked out for a few days while taking a trip to Montreal and it was awesome how they welcomed all of us back! Special shout out to Arso for his professionalism, integrity, and making sure we felt at home.

The hotel is in a great location! We loved having the big open spaces to walk our dog, the brewery and concert venue next door - and Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and other great retail stores and restaurants minutes away. Wish we moved someone closer so we could visit and say hi, but even though we are a state away (moved to Massachusetts) we will make sure to drop by soon. Thanks everyone! Five stars all the way! There's just something about a Marriott that makes it a step above all the others. I often stay in Marriott A/C, Residence Inn, or Courtyards. Each time the stay is comfortable, clean, and pleasant. Service is always impeccable. And that's why I am writing this review for the Residence Inn on 1 International in Portsmouth, NH. I didn't stay at this hotel. I thought that someone I knew was staying at this Residence Inn when I sent an Amazon package to her. Unbeknownst to me there is a 2nd Marriott Residence Inn in Portsmouth, and I had inadvertently sent my Amazon package to the wrong hotel. I called the front desk at RI International Drive and spoke with Gunnar. After a few mutual chuckles about my ineptitude, Gunnar was on the lookout for my package, so that I could forward it to the correct hotel via Uber when it arrived at Gunnar's front desk. Amazon notified me of the delivery. I called Gunnar. He had to put me on hold for a moment. But by the time he came back on the line, his manager was already on the move to take my package and deliver it personally across town to the other Portsmouth Residence Inn, downtown at 100 Deer Street. What can I possibly say in this day of understaffing and the extra burden of work on those who are part of the workplace teams? “Thank-you” certainly doesn't come close to the gratitude I have for Gunnar and his colleague for taking my problem and making it right. You see, this is just another reason why I like Marriott hotels so much. They seem to find the people with just a little something more than all the other hotels. My hat's off to Gunnar for graciously turning my error into a "home run." Thanks Gunnar and colleagues.

Had a great experience at this hotel! Everyone was super welcoming and helpful. Stayed during a trip for mom’s birthday and they upgraded us to an amazing room and were very accommodating about my service dog. The free parking is an amazing plus as well! Overall made our trip super smooth and seamless!

Amazing staff, clean facilities, everything an more from what you expect at a Marriott. Having come from a very poor experience from the downtown Residence Inn, the staff at this location welcomed my family and I with open arms. So good, had an amazing stay, and can’t think of a better place to stay while visiting Portsmouth. Love this place!

This is such a amazing place to stay. Staff was amazing and friendly. And not rude when you have questions. We had one of the two bedrooms. So much space and luxury. Beds were amazing and perfect. We slept so well. Very nice bathroom with great water pressure and heat. And the kitchen was spacious and had a dishwasher which was convenient. Kids loved the pool. Overall thia place was so great.

My Best friend and I stayed here for our Mom's weekend getaway, LOVED the privacy of having separate bedrooms, it was wonderful, very clean, great to have a full kitchen to use, we Loved it and are planning our next Mom weekend here, Breakfast was GREAT!!! Absolutely loved It! Only thing that disappointed us was no hot tub like the original amenities listed, and the pool was too cold, we were there in winter, and would have been great to have it MUCH warmer than it was.

I can't say enough about this place. We have stayed there several times and we will be back in the future. The employees are ALL so friendly and helpful, the rooms are very clean, and the property has a lot of amenities. The rates are higher than some of the other hotels, but it's worth it.

Excellent option for long term stays. Room is equipped with a full size refrigerator/freezer, full size oven and range, half size dishwasher. There is a small dining table and sitting area with a comfortable sectional sofa and large flat screen TV which swivels for viewing from the bedroom area. Super comfortable bed and pillows. Great storage space, a large closet, sleek bathroom and spacious stand-up shower. The complimentary hot breakfast buffet hit the spot in the a.m. Definitely will book with this Marriott brand again!!

Always clean and comfortable for a longer stay.

I have stayed at the Courtyard nearby which is nothing compared to this place. The Residence inn far exceeded our expectations and this will now be our go to when we are in the area. Beautifully updated rooms, full kitchen, wonderful staff at the front desk. We were upgraded to a two bedroom. Really a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back.

Great hotel. Adorable studio with a full kitchen, which came in very handy since we brought our dog with us to this pet friendly hotel. Excellent breakfast buffet. Perfect location as it's only 4 miles away from Market Square which is full of shops & restaurants. We will definitely be coming back!!

My family and I had to come here to have an extended stay due to a death in the family. The staff has been more then gracious, friendly and very compassionate. We have truly appreciated everything they have done for our family including our 3 dogs. They go above and beyond to make there guests feel like friends and that this is a home away from home. I would recommend the residence inn too all.

Excellent for short or long term stays. Nice quiet location not far from grocery stores and downtown Portsmouth.Front desk and cleaning staff are all good people. Cute fitness center. No heavy weights but you can still get a good workout with available dumbbells, phyisoball, cardio machines and the indoor pool. There's also a basketball court that you could also play pickle ball on if you happen to find a net :). Full kitchens available although not all of them offer an oven which is nice for long term stays during the winter months.

Easy to access with ample free parking. Quick Uber or Lyft to downtown. Having a brewery next-door is a great touch. Although pre-warning the Brewery does close rather early. Friendly staff with large, clean rooms. Stayed there as part of a wedding block and would stay there again if back in the area.

Was there to attend a wedding, we stayed in a suite on the 3rd floor while the building was undergoing construction. The staff was extremely courteous, helpful, and pleasant. Accommodations were set up nicely to still enjoy a relaxing weekend even with the craziness of remodeling.

Breakfast was great each day! The female night desk crew were over the top, polite, helpful with local favorite restaurants, and easy to talk to when away from home. One night desk person needs to realize they are protecting the company assets and stay at their post. And, be front and center present when guests come up. Take your headset off and be present.
