This was a fantastic stop, worth the drive! Great stop with kids, our 5 year old loved it!

The audio tour was very well thought out and very cool to hear from past service members.

Would highly recommend!

Also if you have tall people in your family, my 6’4” husband made it through fine😃

We made it just in time before they closed. The gentleman in the ticket office was friendly, kind and very knowledgeable. Walking through the submarine was jaw dropping (at least to us)

Very cool experience getting to see my first sub. I was in the infantry, a job in the military most wouldn't do. I can tell you that I wouldn't cut it in a sub. These dudes were different. Such a small space for 50 guys to be for such a long time. So much history here. Self paced tour with audio boxes throughout the sub.

Excellent experience onboard a submarine! The ticket is for a self-guided tour so you don't have to wait. Go at your own pace. There are audio buttons outside and inside the ship to give you a good idea of what life was like onboard. Definitely recommend.

Very cool park. The museum was closed so we just walked around the submarine and memorial garden both of which were nice. Lots of history here and we hope to return to tour the sub.

So cool never been on a submarine. This is your chance. Grandpa and grandson loved it. Reasonable price. Must watch your head going through bulkhead doors. We had fun. Nice little gift shop and little museum.

A truly interesting and unique experience. My wife and I enjoyed the built in audio tour immensely! Having been to many museum ships before, I was quite impressed by the preservation of the vessel, as well as the quality of the audio tour which is narrated by former crew of the Albacore. The recordings included fascinating insights as well as great anecdotes of life on board. The ability to lay hands on most of the interior of the boat are also greatly appreciated, and help to bring the experience to life. Highly recommended!

This is a cool place to visit while in Porstmouth, NH. Be warned that it's hard to navigate the inside of the submarine for tall people. I'm 6'4" and really had to contort my body to get through the watertight doors. I couldn't imagine working on the submarine as it is very confining. Kudos to our military service members who choose this profession.

Definitely not like movies, but better! It was a unique stop for us. Staff were friendly and the submarine was very informative and interesting. Definitely worth the visit.

It might be a rhetorical statement, but please be aware that touring the submarine may not be for those who cannot be in hot, small, and cramped spaces. Passing through the different sections of the ship was also difficult and may not be for the movement impaired. You will also be asked to leave your purse and bags in your car.

This being said, what an interesting tour! It was a privilege to be able to walk through the submarine and reflect on the lives of the sailers who lived on it. Highly recommended as an interesting day trip with the family.

There is also a Juliet Marine Systems Ghost ship on display on the grounds. Very cool for U.S. military buffs.

The memory garden was very touching. Lots of history.
Nice gift shop.
Well maintained grounds, sub and ghost watercraft.
The Ghost was unlike anything I've seen or read about. Fascinating engineering!
Well worth the trip.

Cool to go into a submarine. The submarine life is not for me. Although I've never understood why war has every been a necessity but maybe that's my naivety.

I serviced submarines when I was in the Navy in the 80s. I've been to see the USS Albacore exterior and museum (which are both free) before. However, this time, I bought tickets to bring my 7 year old grandson on board the submarine. There is a self guided tour, and guests are actually encouraged to touch the display as past crew members narrate. My grandson loved it!

This was a great museum ship. There were elements that survived well into the 688 class design. Had a great time touring and can't wait to go back.

This is an awesome stop for families and history buffs. The self paced walk through the submarine is informative and has lots to see and take in. Definitely difficult for someone if they mobility issues to get through small ports between spaces in the sub.

Nice little museum and self-guided tour through the submarine. Stopped here on our way up to Maine and my family all found it interesting.

Note: not for those who are claustrophobic, as others have noted.

This was a great and fascinating part of history. We loved exploring this and learning about not only the USS Albacore but many other subs as well. This was kid friendly and they had a gift shop. We went on a rainy day and it was really nice to have not only myself but the kids learn about a part of their state!
