Petey's Summertime Seafood

This is the cutest little place that is apparently famous up here. You don’t even have to go in. There is a takeout window where you place your order and they will call you when your food is ready. I like sitting outside at the picnic benches they provide on the side. There are umbrellas and a marshy area. It’s very pretty. There were a few birds that came and visited which I liked. If you throw them a crumb, they grab it and dart into the lobster traps that line the picnic area for safety. So cute.

From when we opened the door to when we left the staff was super nice. Ashley our waitress was amazing! The food was amazing and really worth the drive from Hampton beach. We indulged and had fried Oysters, clams and scallops all fresh straight from the ocean and downing it with a cold one 🍺. Seriously can’t wait to go back and definitely our new spot when we are in town.

I tried the sampler platter and added the lobster tail; the portion was big and the taste was good. The clam chowder was also very tasty. The cole slaw was top notch as well.

Excellent food, great customer service!! The fried haddock and fries were fabulous, the clams and blackened spinach salmon were amazing!

Nice friendly seafood restaurant in Rye, NH. Great service and great food. Had broiled scallops and shrimp with coleslaw and rice pilaf. My sister had Cajun shrimp on a spinach salad.

The lobster roll and chowder were both excellent. Service and the overall environment (everything is paper) were a little rough around the edges— but the food shines very brightly.

There was no wait. Sarah our waitress was attentive and helpful. Enjoyed the atmosphere. It was Feb and appeared to be a local older crowd eating there.

We had to park on the side of the road and walk just a bit. It was 3pm on a Saturday and the parking lot was packed. The waitstaff was great. We started off with the seafood chowder and wow it was good with an unbelievable amount of seafood! I would recommend this place for some great seafood if you are around Rye, NH

Lobster roll was amazing and wanted another serving of cole slaw (so good). Draft beer was ice cold. Can't wait to return.

Lobster 🦞 roll with no lettuce is the best along with 🦞 bisque. Fish 🐟 & chips were great but the best was the onion rings. Cocktails just right and dessert to go,,make for a perfect day!

Great seafood restaurant in a scenic area!! I had the fried whole clams. Done to perfection and not overloaded with French fries that came with it. Definitely will go back when we travel to that area again!! Husband had fried scallops and clams. Delicious!

Our first time there. The waitress was excellent and the food was amazing!!! My husband had the seafood platter and it was a lot of food!!

Quick seating, comfortable booths. Great drinks menu. The food was bar none some of the best if not the best seafood I've ever had when considering the portion sizes, the dipping sauce selection, the crispiness of the fried batter. Presentation of the steamed/broiled foods in the paper containers leaves something to be desired but all-in-all I would definitely revisit in the future. Just happened upon this place because BG's was closed for the season. Good thing.
what was ordered:
1. fried calamari - it didn't need the sauce at all. Soft, not rubbery, flavorful and cooked well.
2. Sweet potato fries - huge portion. great texture
3. Coconut shrimp - talk about jumbo shrimp! the mango chutney sauce that came with it was the cherry on top. I should have ordered a second helping for the road
4. Broiled haddock & sea scallops with rice pilaf - my order came out wrong but the manager was quick to correct it
5. Shrimp scampi with garlic bread, rice pilaf and coleslaw

It's great that they have a broiled menu as well as the fried menu. Good variety and options.

Was in the area during a trip and stopped in for dinner. The place was packed but the host at the front was gracious enough to seat me in a small booth in the dining area after about a 20 minute wait. This was some of the BEST lobster I have ever had. The jumbo lobster roll only comes one way. Cold with mayo. The lobster was fresh and had zero shell, absolutely delicious. The 2.5 Lb lobster I ordered “lazy” and was served without the shell. I will definitely be back if I am in the area.

A friend of mine kept asking if i had tried Petey's and that it was the best place in all of New England.... everyone I asked throughout NH & Maine all seemed to agree. I finally went.... pretty FAN FREAKIN TASTIC!!!!

Fried clam strips & scallops with fries and cole slaw, outstanding! The slaw is perfect btw!
Naturally I got a bowl of clam chowder, superb!

LOVED Petey's! We got our lobster fix. Arrived a tad before opening — so glad we opted to stay and wait in line. Once open, everyone was seated and served quickly. It's clear why there was a line — the lobster roll and tail were both were delicious. The fries were crispy and hot. Very nice Bloody Mary. Our server could not have been nicer. We love places with personality and Petey's has it: the decor was very fun. Looking forward to our next visit.

We have been going here for years and love the seafood chowder. Will be back again this summer. Pictures are baked lobster pie and broiled seafood platter. The only thing we didn't like was the food on the silverware handed to us. It's telling me all of them are dirty and you need to check the dishwasher.

Loved the atmosphere & the food. Prices were fairly reasonable for the portions. We sat at the bar and had great service from Shana. My husband and I shared the jumbo lobster roll and the fried oyster basket. Perhaps the best fried oysters either of us have ever had and a very delicious lobster roll.

Petey’s seafood platter is an absolute feast! The portions are huge and the price is incredibly reasonable, making it an excellent value. The seafood is fresh and delicious, and the variety of options on the platter means there's something for everyone. I highly recommend checking it out, you won't be disappointed!

Amazing food. Clam Chowder (chowda as the locals say it) was the bomb. Had the Baked stuffed platter. The platter had 4 large sea scallops, 4 large shrimp and 2 pieces of haddock topped with stuffing and baked. Food was amazing. Highly recommend if you are ever in Rye, NH. Definitely will visit again.
