Thompson Tavern

From start to finish the food and drinks were wonderful! Old Fashioned had all of the ingredients I expect when it is made well. The Hawaiian BBQ Burger with Sweet Potato Fries were delicious AND satisfying! Rooftop sunset was a bonus! I'm glad I'm a "local" because I definitely will be back! The only downside was that I should have gone there last year when I originally wanted to try Thompson's. 😉

Had a great time with friends here for a couple drinks and some apps. Food was served piping hot and delicious! Good beer too!

Worth the visit. Food was very well prepared and tasty. Service was great, even though the lady serving us was waiting all tables and tending the bar. She deserves a raise.

This place is so much fun ! Nakita was amazing and she was so much fun! She helped us out with Keno and also made us amazing drinks! This is a great environment to have a good time in! Also the food portions are out of this world and amazing !!! Will definitely be back!!

We held a high school reunion on the roof. It's a great venue for apps/drinks for 10-25ish people up there.

Random stop with our friends! Not to busy which was nice. I love that there's giant windows upstairs and you can just over look the town. Super pretty at night . I got Buffalo chicken dip and it was so good! Those Pita Chips are so thick and yummy!

I really enjoy this place. The food is good and they have plenty to choose from if you want a drink. The staff seems very nice and the atmosphere is pretty cool. They have a bunch of TVs so if you're a sports fan there's usually a game on. Parking can be tough because it's downtown Dover and the spots go fast but don't be discouraged by that. I can usually find a spot pretty close by. In the summer time the rooftop is open which is nice if you want to eat and/or drink outside. The view is nice too. Definitely check it out!

The good here was great. The kids chicken fingers were some of the best and crunchy.
Adults ordered steak bomb and grilled cheese tomato and avocado. Both were tasty. The food was great. The staff was friendly and nice. The staff followed Covid rules. There are also dividers between each table. I don't think you can judge a restaurant because some customers can't follow the rules of wearing masks. Staff was all in masks the whole time we were there.

Had a great experience, and the chicken tenders were the best I ever had. Our bar tender, Nikita was super friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and drinks. Perfect spot for watching the game with a great view of down town Dover. A++

Very good nachos & mozzarella sticks! $5 ladies night drinks...rum punch was yummy!

Just came here for something quick on a Sunday afternoon. Place was empty, grabbed a couple drinks and food. Rodeo burger was great, played a bit of keno. Good all in all for me

Had a lot of fun here, it was my first visit. It is laid back and we had an awesome bartender Corey. Tried the fried pickles which were really good. The rooftop was nice, but it was a little chilly outside so we didn't stay out there too long! Will be back here next time I am in the area!

Thompson Tavern in downtown Dover is a amazing place to eat. The food is a and the staff is very professional and friendly. I want to give a shout out to the bartender on June 4, 2021. Not only is she running the bar all by herself. She was crushing it. Plus she is very beautiful. You go girl you deserve a raise.

Great food. Awesome staff. Even during covid they're making sure everyone is safe while bringing good food and a good time. It's nice to know there is a place you can go and not feel like they are rushing you out just to make more money.

Got the weekly special “Mac and cheese burger”. It went down great! The bartender Nikita was incredibly sweet and prompt about getting drinks. Overall great experience.

Thompson's tavern in downtown Dover is a great Sports Bar to stop in. Aside from being a sports bar they have great food and weekly specials. Tuesday night's is the $5 half pound burger with homemade chips for $5. Without a doubt the best burger in the area. Great wait staff also, it's always nice to see a pretty face behind the bar.
