Smiley's gets 5 stars NO. MATTER. WHAT. Place is a local landmark. I hope they stay in business FOREVER. They take a different spin on the traditional convenience store. It's a place that is very nostalgic for me and mine.

This store puts the essential “convenience” into convenience store (and so much more). Not only do they have the best beer selection around, the main people who work there always make every visit a truly pleasant encounter. Nero always puts a smile on my face even on the worst days and he also gets to know all of his main customers and not just by name. He is a truly exceptional, kind and caring human being, so are Mayu and Sam. They will always do above and beyond to help you out. I literally go out of my way to go to this store because I love the people that work there :)

Awesome Beer selection , Nero is the best and keeps my favorite beers in stock, great selection of Cannabis smoking accessories as well...plenty of parking

I have been a sometimes customer at Smileys for many years, while visiting my family who live in Dover. Smileys offers a wide selection of specialty beers, great prices, and the staff is always friendly and helpful.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Unbeatable selection. They have everything from wine to beer to spiked seltzer to hard cider and they have many local brands. They even had a very hard to find seasonal flavor of my favorite hard cider. They have a beer cave that they keep a good mix of cases in, which is awesome. Prices are also lower than what you’ll find anywhere else.
To top it off the place is run by a very nice family who are always helpful if you’re looking for something specific. As a female I get a little uncomfortable going into liquor stores that aren’t the state ones but I feel just fine coming here!

Best selection in the area. My wife and I frequent this great beer establishment. He takes care of you, is very friendly, and gets good beer in if you ask him.

One of the top stores on the seacoast, staff is always friendly and helpful. Expansive alcohol selection and best prices I have seen across the board. Located right downtown which is ideal, don’t come through New Hampshire without checking It out. They also have glass for sale(water pipes and such)

To start I should clear up that Smileys used to be a pizza and sub shop about 5-6 years ago, and it appears the negative reviews from the pizza place are still showing even tho it is under new management and is now just a convenience store (although they do have a lot of snacks and I believe loaf and ladle may now be renting the kitchen which would mean good sandwiches on da way). Now as for the store as it is today July 29, 2019. In my opinion it is the best store in Dover, downtown discount across from dominos comes in second. Money is just digits or at best pieces of cotton/paper with pics of dead presidents that we created because carrying tons shillings was a pain in the arse, what matters is value and that determines the price of anything. Which is why one person can make 10 an hour and another 100, the one making 100 presents more value and The guy and his wife that now run smileys are extremely good people and you can tell they make a point to try and provide as much value to each person. This is shown by the fact that if you are disabled they will come out and take your order of what you need and bring it to you like your placing an order at sonic or something. I don’t know of any other small little convenience stores that do that. Moral of the story is most of these reviews as old and moldy and who the hell looks up reviews for convenience stores anyway to begin with?
