River's Edge Park

Nice park to walk around. I like the little water fountain. During the spring, it is enjoyable to see the cherry blossom.

Great open space for recreating. Volunteered at a well-planned and well-distanced Go Fest concert there last night.

It's always got something going on: soccer, football, baseball, kickball, extreme freesbie, quidditch, people practicing parachuting, etc. Fields well maintained. Has a gazebo with concessions during some events. Porto potties are eeh but a lot of outdoor fields don't even offer those. Adjacent to the Green Way along the river so a nice access point for other great outdoor activites. And if your kid gets injured during a sporting event, hospital is right next door.

This visit was not a first and it will not be the last. This area is perfect for running and situated where many can come together with little effort. The fields are next to perfect- the grass is plush and soft, perfect for soccer! The walkways take you to the Roanoke river Greenway which is where we raced today. Along with space for runners, there is plenty of room for the crowd and cheering section. I really like the water from their fountains (some places just taste gross!), And especially appreciate the stations that have bike repair tools! A lot of heart has been invested into this complex and it shows!

Shutter rides to and from your vehicle. Employees are all superb.

I’ve lived in Roanoke 20 years and over that time they have changed the area into an amazing park type area! You can:
* play soccer, football, baseball, tennis, and probably whatever else you can imagine outdoors
* the paved greenway trail runs through the middle for walking, jogging, cycling, rollerblading, etc
* playground area
* and on the river I see people paddle bounding, tubing (I’ve gone tubing and it’s great)
* 4th of July fireworks

Cleanest park and tables for picnics in town!

Great space for the whole family. The trees were beautiful for some great spring pictures.

A great place to plày tennis, kick the soccer ball around, and relax. The people are generally friendly. There are some homeless that do hang around the picnic shelter but they keep to themselves and don't bother anyone. Definitely recommend to exercise and relax. Sometimes the tennis courts are used for high school practice or tennis instruction so the best time to go to have an open court is before 3pm on weekdays. Also there is a return wall for those that want to practice tennis without a partner.

Best part of the Greenway and best place to park IMHO. Sometimes really busy in the spring and especially the summer though, but I usually can still find a spot in the parking lot one block over. This part of the Greenway is pretty popular, so I feel a lot safer having other people around

Great sports center plus Greenway...awesome. I played Little league football back in the late 70's with Coach Cole..

Stopped here to make dinner. It was a nice clean area. Slightly busy road. I could see public bathrooms available, but we didn’t use them.
Van Life

We have used there's facilities in various capacities over the years, tennis, soccer, football and most recently cross country. We have always had a good experience here. The only real negative is finding parking sometimes. Especially if I'm in one of the big trucks because they don't fit under the tunnels at the end of Wiley. But over all a great experience and we appreciate the opportunity to have these facilities nearby.

Lots of space to work out, you can play american football or tennis or soccer etc.

Beautiful green space with access to Roanoke River Greenway

Nice soccer fields. Ground is quite hard, and grass could be better. Parking is ambiguous.

I'm visiting from Florida and have been drawn to your Greenaway's. So clean and well kept. Here you can walk near waterways without fear of a gator lunging out at you. Bugs are to a minimum. Great breeze and the people were very inviting. Thank you for such a great experience.

Good for a little of everything. Biking, socker, fireworks, fishing, tennis, and much more. There is a 3 kids playgrounds within walking distance. It's close to a nice outdoor mall in walking distance, and if God forbid, you get hurt while your there, it's within walking distance to the hospital.

Lovely park! A couple playgrounds for kids, tennis courts, and a path that goes on for a GOOD while (I think I heard ~20 miles?)

I love walking through the park. The sky and trees are so beautiful! Thank you Lord for your creation! The Greenway is such a blessing. :)
