Hakata Ramen & Sushi

The first time I went there was years ago and I wasn't a fan then, but it is totally different now. The ramen broth is very well flavored and the noodles are perfectly bouncy. We got the tomato ramen and tonkatsu. The egg was really phenomenal too. We also got the avocado ball, which was really fantastic. It has a bunch of different cuts of sushi fish inside and a mango sauce outside. It felt like we got our ramen within minutes of ordering, which was awesome. I think I'm going to become a regular here.

Visited Hakata for the first time. In my opinion, it was excellent.

Tantan Ramen? Very good
Chicken Katsu Curry? Excellent.

My girlfriend enjoyed her Tonkotsu ramen. She thought the Edamame could have been salted heavier.

Hakata Ramen is one of my go-to's in the area for sushi and ramen. Their tonkotsu ramen is delicious and their raw salmon is always fresh. The tempura is light and crunchy, not oily. The service is super fast and friendly. The restaurant is also pretty clean, with high ceilings. Never too noisy and there's a lot of space between tables which is nice.

I'm amazed by the freshness and the generous amount of the fish. Small things like garnish and nice plating make a difference. We always go here despite 30-minute drive.

The atmosphere is pretty humble and most of their order seems to be take-out.

The ramen was delicious. The noodles were fresh and the broth was rich and flavorful. The sushi was beautifully presented and delicious as well. A surprise gem hidden in Waltham.

Few weeks ago after spending a whole day in Boston, I came back by train to Waltham and stopped by this place for dinner. The female server was so friendly and she always had a nice smile. She even gave us a big pitcher full of ice water to fill and would always be willing to fill up the pitcher when we ran out. The food tasted great and the ramen noodles were so delicious.

Solid spot for Ramen. The service was incredibly quick and my ramen came almost immediately after ordering it. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and it was really good. The broth was rich and the noodles were tender.

Best ramen place in the Boston area. The broth is top notch. The people are incredibly nice. I’ve loved the music selection during the times I’ve been there. Sit down or take away, the quality has been consistent.

Simple place with minimalist design. Service is fast and friendly. Sushi are fresh and sashimi melt in your mouth. I think this place is one of the best for Japanese cuisine in Waltham. A+ Asian restaurant without any doubt.

Clean spot with great quality food and sushi. This is easily the best sushi spot in Waltham hands down. No other spot in Waltham can compare. The freshest raw fish in Waltham and best soup.

Hakata Ramen and Sushi has really good ramen and sushi. When i went to this restaurant the sushi was good but what really takes the cake for me was the tenten ramen. If you ever was to get some Japanese food here is a good place and right the street is another place that has Japanese food.

It’s my meetup spot with friends. Broth is good, the people who work there are very nice.

I was in the area for a business meeting and didn’t want to hit the road in traffic hours so I found HAKATA, and man, so happy I did!
It’s not a super fancy place, but it looks nice and clean. As I entered the restaurant, I was immediately greeted by the host/hostess.

I ordered a spicy tonkasu reman with some avocado added, and I order a tuna tataki from the sushi bar for my appetizer. Very nice presentations, and the portion is very good too, but the best part would definitely be the flavor!

The Raman broth is very tasty, I can taste the spiciness, but it does not overwhelm other ingredients in the bowl, all I want to do is just to repeat my motion, one sip after another and another. Oh, and the tataki! The sushi chef told me(one good thing about sitting in the sushi bar!!!) that he lightly seared the tuna so he can bring out a better texture of tuna, and it would also add a smoky flavor to the dish. The tataki sauce was fabulous!! (His secret recipe!!!)
Overall, I am very happy with my experience in Hakata, will definitely return to try other stuff on the menu too.

Delicious ramen and vegetarian sushi. Clean and cold water. Owner and staff extremely friendly and proud of their restaurant. I highly suggest Hakata if you are in the area.

Excellent sushi spot. We got three specialty rolls to split and everything was so fresh and well prepared. If I lived here I would definitely make this one of my regular spots.

The food was great, the server missed 1 item but it was quickly delivered when I told him.

Their vegetarian ramens are all very good. All the sushi I have gotten has been top-notch fresh and beautifully presented. Very friendly service. My neighborhood ramen place! 🙂👍
