The food and the service were perfect.
It's a "bring your own wine" place, I didn't bring any so they went out of their way to find a glass of wine for me.
Highly recommended!

I have told EVERYONE about this place - I drive by almost everyday and finally decided to try it. Hands-down my new favorite restaurant.

The menu is a bit small, which I like because it's not overwhelming to pick a meal! Verbose enough to crave every flavor profile you're in the mood for.

I LOVED that the bread came with a bowl of fresh pesto, and per my friend with a nut allergy, they do not add pine nuts to the pesto so it is safe to consume for any nut allergy people out there!

Tatiana provided beyond-excellent service. Topping our waters off and coming back frequently with more bread (we ate a lot...)

The price was perfect for the portion sizes, and the calamari was to die for.

It’s real delicious, always. That’s an automatic.
Difference here is they remember you and know your name. I feel special when I go there, everytime!

We travel to the Boston area from FL a couple times a year. We always try to eat at Sweet Basil Needham, as the food and service are amazing.

The restaurant is small and intimate, but when it's full it is noisy; making it hard to converse.

Had amazing food and great service (server Shannon). Got the rosemary chicken and kept stealing bites of my cousin’s bolognese.

Visited this place for dinner, we are not from Massachusetts but I was pleasantly suprised how flavorful the food was. The pesto sauce with bread was so delicious you would eat it with a spoon. Pasta is made fresh in house. Flavors bursting with garlic and fresh herbs. Staff was super attentive and polite. The mussels in wine sauce was a generous portion to share. I cant say enough positive things. If im ever back in the area Id definitely go back.

Their chicken parm, tomato sauce, fresh pasta, and pesto are second to none, and an additional perk is that they’re BYOB. My husband loves the rosemary chicken and we just tried the shrimp scampi this weekend which was also great! Love eating here and have been coming for a decade!

The food is delicious. The pasta dishes are some of the best I’ve ever had. Don’t forget to bring your own wine, they don’t serve alcohol.

AMAZING FOOD. Pork tenderloin, cold bean salad, pesto spread with bread, homemade pasta, etc....all delicious. The place is cozy but lively. The staff were all so sweet and friendly. I am an out of towner and cant wait to come back to this place. Best choice I have made in a while.

Wonderful Needham Italian spot. Great service. Tatiana is terrific. Love the mussels and chicken parm. Fresh bread with homemade pesto is fantastic. Already looking forward to returning.

One of my favorite spots in greater Boston! BYOB as well :) Homemade pasta is deliciously made with a deep egg color. The fresh bread and pesto was great to start. We followed this by the mussels, which were served in a buttery garlic white wine sauce over sauce soaked bread. I’ve had a lot of mussels and my life and these were on a different level. I’ve had the rosemary chicken and the chicken parm, both are so tasty. My girlfriend had the butternut squash soup and she was raving about it. The passion for their food and serving their customers was apparent. If you aren’t used to dense pasta you may not love the pasta at first but it definitely will grow on you. A true gem, thanks Sweet Basil!

Shannon is our waitress every time me and my family come here and she is the BEST! Cannot emphasize it enough. she is so friendly and engaged with her customers. cannot say enough great things about Shannon!

I had the tomato soup and the calamari to start with, both were good. Dinner was shrimp scampi which was delicious.

Unparalleled customer service. You won’t find a restaurant where you feel more taken care of (well except their sister restaurants in Waltham and Juniper in Wellesley). I’ve never seen my mom eat so much at a restaurant before. Whatever the wait time is - WAIT - it’s worth it!

This was our second visit and the meal was so delicious! We had the Greek salad and lamb stew, which was of a very satisfactory standard and size, the accompanying bread and green garlic sauce were also very tasty and the waiter was immediately friendly, we would recommend it!

The Basil Pesto & rustic bread starter was awesome, as was the rest of our meal. Eclectic decor with great service and a clean & simple menu. Our entire group really enjoyed the whole dining experience.

Sweet Basil is a family neighborhood Italian restaurant. The food is traditional Italian cuisine, the drinks are BYOB (with a small corkage fee) and the service is friendly and relaxed.
There are no reservations and depending on the time and the day, you may wait for an hour or two. If there is a long wait, the bar around the corner serves wine and cocktails.
As far as the food goes - it was comforting and delicious. The tagliatelle Bolognese were satisfying (albeit a huge portion), the baked gouda in filo dough was tasty and so was the salad that came with it. I thought the highlight was the Squash and Apple tortellini - those were dreamy.
It is not hard to see why the locals (and some not so local) are lining up to dine here.

Went out on a date for a special occasion and was not disappointed. The food was spectacular and the staff was very helpful and nice. The pesto and bread that they give you when you arrive is incredible. Make sure to bring a bottle of wine because it's BYOB.

This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time! I’ve been coming here for years and actually hosted my college graduation party here. The food is to die for and the service is amazing. I bring a bottle of wine with me every time. I can eat pounds of their pesto.
