Mac's Burgers & Cheesesteaks

Great place for a burger! My wife had seen this place while on a visit with a client and wanted to give it a try. It doesn't look like much, inside or out but they have really good burgers and the chips are home made. It is definitely one of the better burgers that I have had in a while. Probably the best burger in Black Mountain.

Hadn't been to Black Mountain NC for some time. Had to pick something up there and asked where I could get a Philly. Macs came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. FABULOUS Philly! HOME CUT FRIES??!! I was in HEAVEN. RC on tap?? Could life get any better???!!! This will be our go to anytime we go to Asheville. It's worth the additional 20 minute drive.

My wife and I were here a couple weeks ago. I got the cheese steak and my wife got the Mac’s burger… we haven’t quit thinking and talking about the food since… the fires, the burger, the cheesesteak ALL OF IT. Simply amazing food and awesome service. It’s easy to see they take tons of pride in what they do.

A stop away from the mainstream. In a town known for being a stop away from being mainstream.

Mac's is a small quaint place that only wants to serve great quality burgers and fries.

Not over the top. But, this place is nestled in a regular street off the main drag. Which isn't really a big drag. Just a pretty cool mountain town.

If you venture this way, you have to go all the wall. Order the Mac special. Something like a chili cheeseburger.

Definitely got to go here if you’re in Black Mountain. My son and I couldn’t believe how good the chili burger, AKA Mac burger I think, was!

This is that type of hole-in-the-wall place with the best burger you've had all year. Trust me, you don't wanna miss it.

In addition to awesome burgers, they also had great service and a cute patio with a friendly neighborhood cat named Batman.

Small local establishment with first rate fresh food. Everything made at the time of order to your liking. The staff was amiable and took time out of their busy day to share information I requested on another local establishment. Thanks guys!!

Some of the BEST burgers! Absolutely love them. They have hotdogs, Philly cheese steaks & other sandwiches; but honestly I can't tell you if they're good or not because I can't get past their burgers . . . I just crave them every time I come. And they have the best fries too!! You need to try them if you haven't!

Excellent burgers, fries, and onion rings. Kitchen staff was friendly. My son loved the Philly cheesesteak with bacon (Mac daddy)

"Best darn burger in town" is spot on! The burgers (and dogs) were some of the best I've ever had, as were the fries! And the people are awesome! I was tempted not to do a review just to keep this gem for myself. ;-)

I'd love to see Mac's come to NE GA so we can enjoy them all the time. Whole new market in desperate need of a great burger.

I have been craving a good burger for some time and just happened to stumble across Macs located behind 5/3 bank in Black Mountain. What a delight! The burger was huge, juicy and very tasty! Great prices and the 2 gentlemen working in there were very nice and cordial. My new #1 burger place in the area and I highly recommend it if you want a homemade burger!

After a morning of hiking at chimney rock we needed some nourishment! So we found Macs on google and stopped in for a delicious burger & fries! They were super busy but so kind and friendly. It was definitely worth the wait!

I have heard people talk about Mac's so I gave it a try for lunch. Wow, not disappointed. Excellent food. Not your ordinary burger joint. I tried the Patty melt and fresh cut fries. Great flavor. I will be back.

What a burger! Passing thru. Up for adventure. Glad we stopped. Burger done right - to order so it was hot. Good chips. Will come again for hotdog and Philly steak.
