Countryside BBQ

Friends took us here for dinner, what a gem of a BarBQ restaurant in Marion NC. Great service (servers & staff work together to make sure everything is good), atmosphere and food. You can get sandwiches, daily specials and dinners all day here. Our table had 1/2 rack of smoked pork BarBQ ribs (dry rubbed with yummy sauce on the side) with 2 sides $15.99 incredible hush puppies, thick beef brisket sandwich served with coleslaw $8.99, grilled chicken tender salad (huge), coffee and scrumptious strawberry Shortcake $5. Loved it. Highly recommend.

The food was excellent and the servers ensure you have everything you need when you need it. We ordered the fried pickles which come with ranch dressing, they were yummy and filled you up. The fish sandwich was substantially sized. Everything was great! 👌

Lunch was amazing! Fresh, homemade, delicious and fast! We had the Monday Pork chop special, BBQ Pork plate, Popcorn Shrimp and kid's chicken tenders. Dessert was beyond delicious!!! Banana pudding, coconut cream pie, strawberry shortcake and chocolate peanut butter cake!
This place is a must stop!!

Out of town today but this place has great food, service and decent prices for what you get.
Everyone was very nice and provided great service. If you're in the area, I'd highly recommend it.

The best food I have enjoyed recently. I stopped in for the BBQ, and it was tender and full of flavor. Obviously prepared by folks that know bbq. Delicious sides also. But there was even more I'd like to try. Going to be returning again soon.

Always an excellent choice when we are in the area. Finally figured out the secret ingredient to their barbecue, it's PATIENCE! Tender and tasty every single time. Homemade sauces and sides are the perfect compliment to your main dish selection. Usually to full for dessert because portions are generous but they are always happy to let us get it to go. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is genuinely interested in making sure you are satisfied with your experience. Highly recommend.

I recently used Countryside to cater my wedding and oh my god it was INCREDIBLE. Everyone was raving about the food, especially the brisket!

From the beginning communication was always smooth and prompt. Jennifer was more than happy to answer any questions I had. I hate that i didn’t get to talk to the staff more on the day of but i want to say a huge thank you to Jennifer and all of the Countryside staff that helped make my day incredible!

This is my second time eating here. My family and I ate here again on Valentine's Day (a very busy day, to say the least) a little after 5. It was somewhat packed, but there were plenty of tables left. Our waitress was so very nice and doing such an amazing job despite having so many more people coming in. The entire staff was helping each other bring out food, engage with the tables, etc. Each staff member that came by our table, helped with any request that I had, and that I passed by to use the restroom was super nice.

We all ordered some BBQ, chicken, and sides. Everything but the chicken was amazing. I wasn't a fan of the chicken as it was dry. I am sorry. The other meats were super tender and wonderful without a doubt. I love their BBQ sauces and sides. I highly recommend the pasta salad, macaroni & cheese, hushpuppies, sweet potato fries, and home fries. I haven't gotten around to trying the other side items right yet, but I'm certain they are just as wonderful. I love their ranch! And don't get me started on the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake + Ice Cream. Oh my gosh! Talk about addicting!

I absolutely love this little gem in Marion. And I applaud the entire restaurant on how hard they worked on V-Day as by the time we were done with dinner, there were no more tables available, and people were actually standing in line to be seated. Great job and service!

Get lunch stop with family. Appreciate that they were able to accommodate a group of 9. The food was down home country bbq that was very delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We were a party of 11. I did call ahead to let them know. No problems, no hesitation from the person answering the call. We were seated within 10 minutes of arrival. Food was served quickly, it was hot, fresh and excellant. Servers were pleasant and came by several times to check on our progress. Thanks for the excellant lunch

Food and service was great! Open on Holidays too. I got their homemade chicken & dumplings which was well-seasoned and light as air! Hubs got brisket & pulled pork which was bomb! Don't believe me, ask former President Obama!

Stopped in Marion for the night while traveling. This restaurant was a wonderful surprise. Friendly service, casual, and absolutely delicious food. We had the BBQ pork, collard greens, mashed potatoes, hush puppies. Everything was fantastic. Would surely recommend!

I love it! The food was amazing and inexpensive. The pulled pork BBQ was delicious. They stay busy but you won't notice a difference in service because there are plenty of staff and seating. The service was on point and the staff was kind. Will visit again soon!

We took the senior citizens from church here on our way back from Mt Mitchell. Every one seemed to enjoy their meal. I got the double cheeseburger and my wife got the regular BBQ plate. The service was great and they brought the food out quickly.

I've enjoyed a lot of brisket in my sixty-something years. TODAY is the first time I've ever been served MELT-IN-YOUR-MOUTH brisket!
Everything & everyone was amazing! The hush puppies were off the charts!

My wife and I live in Florida with our two daughters. My wife's grandparents live in Marion North Carolina and every time we come to visit we have to stop by Countryside BBQ!!!! we both got the BBQ dinner plate full of pulled pork. I got sides of sweet potato fries, baked beans, collard greens, and fried okra. I loved it all and drank tons of Diet Mt. Dew!! I have always loved the pitchers of your drink that the wait staff brings to your table as I always drink a lot in general so having constant refills of Diet Mt. Dew with my BBQ just makes the meal perfect!!! Great BBQ sauce too!! The service is always awesome and friendly!!

Countryside is a staple amongst the community. President Obama even visited here in 2011. The atmosphere definitely has a cozy small town vibe. I had the chicken tender platter, which I highly recommend! The breading was crunchy and the chicken was juicy. Each patron receives their own personal picture of their choice of beverage, which you don't see often in restaurants. The staff was incredibly polite and helpful. My only negative is that the staff was a little hard to find at times. Took roughly 10-15 to get someone's attention for a Togo box. I definitely recommend visiting!

BBQ is great, Chicken fingers were good, Vegetables were all good. Chicken salad croissant, has way too much mayonnaise. Just passing thru but would definitely be a favorite if close to home.

Really great food, prices and atmosphere. If ever out this way again, we'll make sure to stop by again. 100%.

Very good food with fast and friendly service we had the chopped BBQ pork with baked beans and side salad! It was delicious! Their BBQ sauce had a nice Smokey flavor! They make homemade ranch there along with other homemade dressing! Nice place to stop for bite to eat off I40!
