Town Hardware & General Store

This store has literally everything you could ever need. It even has a book nook with Dolly Parton. The prices are really decent. The employees are very helpful and nice. Grab an ice cold Coke and enjoy this general store and black mountain.

A very cute store with very friendly and attentive staff. Lots of selections of gifts and decor and novelties, but also the kind of stuff you'd expect at a hardware store/general store. Reasonable prices and a wide selection. Worth stopping in to look around!

Great customer service. Wide variety of options from very practical (screws and plumbing supplies) to gifts and household items. Love the vintage toys. Always busy. Staff (Wayne and others) great patient help.

The Black Mountain staple. The store has been there since before I was born. And probably long for that. Customer service seems to be the top priority. Even when you’re looking for something that’s right around the corner they are willing to help! They have the hardware you need for a small fix at your home. They also have gardening supplies downstairs. Before you head further into town stop by here for your hardware needs.

This is an old fashioned, general store having everything from books on how to make bread, to screws, nuts, and bolts, to percolators, to cast iron cookware, to pocket knives. You get the idea. If they don't have it, you don't need it.

Town Hardware is the best. Very helpful staff, so much better than the big guys to get what you need quickly at a reasonable price.

Great old building in a historic downtown location. They literally have a little bit of everything. Everyone that works there is extremely nice and super helpful.

It has some hardware but also has a lot of souvenirs and gifts. I really like the old store built in shelving.

We love this place. Such a variety of items to browse or buy. Housewares, toys, holiday decorations, gifts, garden decor and of course, hardware. We go every time we are in town and the selection is always interesting and fun

I am in full agreement with the other reviewers, this store is awesome! If you could only shop at one store for the rest of your life, you could probably manage with this one; as long as you could shop for food elsewhere. Overpacked shelves, too many products, super narrow aisles, crowded with people, and it is just perfect! What a fun store. You have to visit!

Great little hardware store. One of my favorites in Black Mountain!

Visited this store on 02/11/23 to spend just a few minutes and ended up staying 45 minutes! So much more than hardware and general merchandise! Lots of gift items, jigsaw puzzles, games, greeting cards, kitchen items, canning supplies, garden flags, jewelry, Southern themed items, and much more. Plus, the owners are really nice and super friendly. You must visit this place if you're in Black Mountain!

What an amazing and fully functional old hardware / general store. Reminded me of the days when I was a kid. Something for everyone and a must to see when in the area. Generations of hard work to stock this asset that still is serving the community. Big box should visit and learn something from these hardworking employees and owners. Well done!!!
