Milton's Cuisine & Cocktails

We ate outside and the ambiance was very nice! We shared the Ploughman’s Board and it was amazing. Each item in this appetizer was wonderful. We did have to ask for the deviled egg spread (which it said came with the board) because we received two whole deviled eggs instead. The spread was delicious and they should definitely keep it! Also, the gnocchi was wonderful; it was very fluffy, potatoey, and very comforting. Overall, a great choice for dining in Black Mountain.

Excellent meal at Milton’s tonight. Just opened this week in Black Mountain. What a nice addition to the town. Crab soup 👍 Salmon and Trout 👍👍 Southern Fried Chicken 😍

OMG. If I were dying I would insist my last meal be from here. The food was so good I had to restrain myself from licking the plate at the end of the meal. "Delicious" isn't enough. If you're trying to find good food in Black Mountain LOOK NO FURTHER. 157/10. Would eat here again in a heartbeat.

Came here on a Friday night with my boyfriend for my birthday. Our server was fairly new to the restaurant, but was incredibly attentive, sweet, and dedicated to giving us good service. You could even tell she was new until she mentioned starting a few weeks prior!

The food was well plated and portioned. Pictured below is the fried chicken entree which I had zero complaints over.

The cocktails were fantastic and came out quickly. The server worked with our specific requests with ease.

We will definitely be recommending this place to anyone visiting Asheville.

Tonight (Nov. 20) my wife and I had the pleasure of eating at Milton's to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. From the food, to the service, to the cocktails, everything was amazing!

Since the holidays are right around the corner the ambiance was on point with Christmas decorations and a fire. These small touches made for an enjoyable dinner atmosphere.

Hunter and Kristen were both extremely kind and delivered exceptional service. Can't say enough great things! If you visit, you will definitely be treated well.

As for the food, my wife had the shrimp and grits while I had the hanger steak. Both were really great! We also tried the chicken sliders for an appetizer which I would highly recommend. To complement the meal, we got some of their seasonal cocktails, the G&T and Moscow Mule.

Highly recommend Milton's for any special occasion or for an awesome night out! We will definitely be back!

While staying at the Monte Vista hotel we enjoyed dinner here. Casual dining at the bar so we could watch the College World Series but the restaurant was full of locals and it’s obvious why. Food and service was great, we will definitely be back when in the area. We spoke with others dining that were staying in different hotels but had come here for a casual dinner. The outdoor space looked so inviting but it was raining so we didn’t go outside. Chef inspired menu that we were told is updated seasonally.

We absolutely love this place and can usually be found here on the weekends. The food is locally sourced and delicious with changing seasonal menu. Drinks are also lovely and change with the season. The servers are just great and have been there a long time. All around great place to dine.

Definitely off-season - there were two patrons at the bar and one other couple in the main (?) dining area. We were seated, as requested, by the fireplace - my wife grew up in Hawaii and is very cold natured. Service and food were excellent. We enjoyed the same waitress we had several years ago on a previous visit - Francis. We are looking forward to moving to the area - I'm from NC - and frequenting your establishment, regularly. We had an amazing anniversary dinner at Milton’s. The patio was a great place for an evening dinner. We will definitely be back.

Nice cocktails and the steak was great and cooked perfectly. They had live music the night we were there. He was an accomplished musician and did play too loudly. Atmosphere was very relaxed. Definitely will stay here again.

Had an amazing dining experience at the Monte Vista Hotel. Food was terrific but Austin really made it special. I had the melt in your mouth beef tenderloin and my friends enjoyed the country fried chicken. All were cooked moist and tasty, with seasons that really made them special.

Austin was very helpful with menu suggestions, served us really tasty corn bread and later led us on a tour of the hotel and shared the history. Really great guy!

What a treat! Just had a fabulous dinner on the porch at Miltons.Thursday night special was Beer and Burger. I had the sorghum honey chicken plate with mashed potato and green beans. Both were wonderful! The corn bread is excellent too.
Service was excellent.
Seating is limited. Reservations are possible. Take out available too.

Went here for Sunday brunch, recommend getting a reservation as it seemed to get busy. Had the shrimp and grits and also got the deviled eggs appetizer.

This place is delicious & the atmosphere is wonderful. Tried the special that night, roasted red pepper soup and it was incredible!

The host was very nice and went out of her way to get us a special table since we were celebrating. The service was good. The food was spectacular. Mushroom toast was life changing. the cocktails took a long time but were worth the wait. The sirloin was cooked to perfection with the perfect accompaniments. 10/10 meal. Would absolutely dine here again.

Met friends for drinks and wound up having dinner as well. Wonderful wait staff, great food, and got a table in front of the fireplace!

Absolutely lived the southern fried chicken. And the deviled egg spread. Only bad thing I can say is the place is so classy yet casual. But the staff does not reflect that. They should dress with more class as to represent the establishment

First time dining at this lovely restaurant in a hotel.Not far from downtown Black Mountain. Nice vibe and ambiance. We had a tasty shrimp appetizer that could be rolled up in butter lettuce. Chicken dinner was a large perfectly fried piece of white meat with a special twist on peas and slaw. It was delicious and plentiful. The carrot cake dessert was awesome and sharable. The staff was friendly and helpful. We got there early and a continuous flow of diners came in thereafter. Some wines are half-price on Wednesday.

What a marvelous dining addition to Black Mountain! My family enjoyed several courses in a very relaxed atmosphere surrounded by neat art in a historic hotel. Pre dinner local craft beers in the quaint bar with Joe, our awesome host, and then dinner. Crab bisque, fried pickles, blackened salmon with cheese grits, a filet that I have no words to describe and creme brulee. And a gentleman's lemonade for our after dinner stroll around the property and all of it's book nooks, firepit, porches and patios to explore. The rare place where you can have either a special occasion or a relaxed meal. Our server was sharp. We met Alex who made sure our experience was spectacular & even offered our young daughter a kitchen tour. I rarely leave reviews because I'm rarely impressed lol but these people are in it to win it. Check them out.

My family ate here last night and literally everybody was thrilled with their food - no small feat when your family includes two pretty picky elders and two vegetarians. My potato gnocchi with mushrooms was quite possibly one of the best meals I have had in the Asheville area. Will definitely return.
