Acoustic Corner

I was in Western NC for the first time and had been wanting to play a couple Eastman guitars. Found Acoustic Corner in Black Mountain (a beautiful town) and am so glad that I did! David, the proprietor was super helpful and friendly. The instruments in the shop were clean, well-cared for, and in-tune. The shop has an excellent selection of instruments across price-ranges but all excellent quality. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again or buy an(another) instrument from!

I went into the store to play a few Pisgah Banjos to see if I liked the feel and sound of them. I ended up walking out with a beautiful banjo. The owner (David) was very welcoming and I never felt pressured to buy anything. He happily answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable. If you're in the market for a string instrument I highly recommend stopping by!

What a find! These guys are the best. Buying and selling from Acoustic Corner was such a great experience. David (the owner) was quick to reply to all questions, and guided me through the entire process. The transactions were fantastic, friendly, NO PRESSURE, and I will 100% do business with AC again. Absolutely an amazing place! We rented for almost 5 years very good quality rentals! Ended up buying and the owner couldn't have been better. 1000 percent recommend! I could go on and on. Wouldn't go any other place. Amazing people great atmosphere! 10 out of 10 would always recommend

I do not make it a practice to order something as personal as a guitar sight unseen. I am picky, and like to compare many guitars when making a purchase.Trying to find a 00 28 slothead these days is very difficult unless one goes with some of the custom shop options, so I was excited, but a bit apprehensive when I found one on line at Acoustic Corner. David spent a lot of time describing the instrument, and even sent me videos of himself playing the guitar. His friendly, knowledgable attitude helped, and I never felt like he was pushing the hard-sell pressure on me.
Acoustic instruments are delicate and shipping one half way across the country was also a worry.
Well it turned out that I really had no reason for these concerns. The guitar arrived with the best, most intense level of packing care I have ever seen - both inside the big packing box, and extending even inside the guitar case. When I pulled the guitar from its paper, cardboard, foam, and padded cocoon, it was better than described... it was still in tune (well the G was slightly flat!). I have owned several Martin's but never a small 12 fret. This instrument has an enchanting voice that I feel like will be a magic friend of my finger picking world for a long time - one of those life time guitars. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks to Ashley and David for your excellence, patience, and professionalism with this purchasing experience. If I ever go to your neck of the woods I will stop in and say thanks in person!

These folks are so, so good at what they do. Super friendly and knowledgeable. I've continued to have all of my precious (to me) guitars set up here over the years, and the quality of work is always top-notch.

This shop has some great guitars and the proprietor is very friendly. Martin, Gibson, and more are there to admire and enjoy. The atmosphere is mellow and very peaceful. I noted that they also do repairs. I will go back again when I have more time.

I've been a customer since the doors opened and for the entire time I have been so thankful to have this shop in my own town. The new owner David Zoll is perfect in this role as he is a player, and walking instrument encyclopedia. On top of that he's a great person.
I have bought and sold instruments there and keep my strings and equipment up to date using AC. If you are in Western NC you need to drop in to this shop.

You can't find a better music store in Western NC. Very good selection of new acoustics and a lot of high end used acoustics(Gibson, Martin, Guild). Store is very nice and well setup. The owner also plays acoustic and is very knowledgeable on all equipment. Highly recommend even if you're making a 2-3 hour drive to get there. They carry brand new Eastman guitars which are hard to find in any music store.

Very knowledgeable proprietor on a host of stringed instruments. Great conversationalist. Cozy shop with good assortment and variety. Nice historical instrument display. Decent accessory options available. Seemed like they would work with customer to order something that wasn't in stock. Reasonably priced with quality instruments and will service as well. Great store.

Overall wonderful experience. Guy was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Good prices for a brick-and-mortar establishment. Decent selection of supplies for acoustic stringed instruments. Was told they can order other supplies as needed and that they did repairs for acoustic instruments and electrics from the guy next door.

Haven't purchased from them yet, but when I went in to try out a mandolin they were super helpful and friendly. Incredibly informed about the instruments and cool with me trying out a few even though I wasn't immediately purchasing. Great curated selection of instruments as well.

When I made the decision to buy a Pisgah banjo I soon discovered they are in high demand. Acoustic Corner in Black Mountain, NC had exactly what I wanted. But, it's an eight hour drive from my home. After texting back and forth a few times, I was invited to call David--even though the store was closed. He couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. My Possum arrived a few days later, safe and sound (pun intended). It's absolutely beautiful and sounds and plays better than I imagined. I will be using Acoustic Corner again.

I don't write reviews as often as I should (New Year's resolution perhaps?) so when I do, it's because the experience was over/underwhelming in a remarkable way.

My experience at Acoustic Corner far exceeded my expectations. I had been corresponding via email with David for a couple weeks and hatched a plan to drive up from Raleigh specifically to demo four Larrivees against each other. They were the only shop within a reasonable distance with two OO-40s and two OM-40s, one each of Mahogany aand Rosewood, in stock.

David's customer service was stellar over email and only better in person. Friendly, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, but not overwhleming from a "sales" perspective.

To hammer the point home, I left with a guitar and am writing a review, an uncharacteristic thing for me, an hour after getting back home. THAT says everything. If you're into acoustics, or any stringed instrument, and live anywhere in NC, you owe it to yourself to make a trip out here. I'll be swinging by every time we go to Asheville just to say hello and see what's in stock. Great store, great selection, and good people. 10 stars

Wonderful store with knowledgeable staff. I like the line of guitars they carry, and keep an eye on the used and vintage instruments, as they are selective on what they consign. If you are an acoustic instrument enthusiast, this is very much a go to store for you.
