Lauren was so great! I came in because I could barely walk with foot pain. She helped me pick out the perfect shoes and socks for my paticular situation. I have to say, my feet stopped hurting in one day! My shoes are so comfortable, I didn't want to take them off. I can't tell you how grateful I am for her down to earth expert advice. I am not a runner, but she invited me to some low key runs that I could start off with and connect with my community. Thanks Lauren, I'll always support Mountain Running Company. Great little local running store that also sells disc golf discs and bags.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff! They had an excellent selection of outdoor running gear. The gentlemen working was very considerate of all our outdoor needs and confirmed we were walking away with the right gear!

Great place for some gear. The man working there helped me find a pair of shoes I liked and made sure they fit correctly. Very happy with my purchase and with their service!

My best friend and I had the best experience this weekend in the store! We both walked out with two pairs of shoes each and some sun glasses! The lady that helped us was absolutely amazing! She took her time with us and was very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this store to anyone...runners or just anyone wanting a new pair of shoes.

I stopped in while visiting the area for a few days. I don’t think I’ve ever been in the store. The lady working was able to help me find a great pair of shoes in my price range that I liked. I ended up walking away with two pairs of shoes And look forward to coming back in the future

Great store with excellent stock..but more importantly awesome staff. Jamie and Trevor are rock stars. Told them my needs and type of activities and they dialed me in to the perfect shoe. They were very personable and fun to interact with. As a business owner..these are the appreciated team members every business desires.

Wow 🤩!!! Not too often that an amazing experience happens with retail these days … but this was awesome! Fair prices and informed staff. Bought a pair of Topo hiking boots that fit like slippers!

The store has an amazing selection of shoes, gear and clothing. The customer service was five star. The staff knows all the great trails, and races happening in the local area. And did a wonderful job fitting me in the shoe that was perfect for me. I love mountain running company.

This place is awesome! Empathetic and knowledgeable service. I bought a pair of Hokas and after 6 months I had a defect in the heel of the shoe. I tried to return them to Hoka, but the process was complicated. Vertical runner exchanged my defected shoe for a brand new shoe! Awesome! They also remembered my face, made me feel right at home. Thank you for being kind!

There is no other running store in my opinion. I found Vertical Runner just before I moved to the area and it has become my only running shop. I bought 5 pairs of shoes (not just for me) in one year. Shaun Pope, the owner makes this store extra special. He's an accomplished runner and local trail expert. Whatever you need, he will take care of you.

Shaun and Jamie are amazing. They are very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. A+ service. Shaun was so accommodating after I told him that the shoes were not fitting as I hoped. He was like, "just bring them back".

Jamie and Shaun took so much time to help me find the right running shoes. I tried on so many shoes and combos with insoles and they helped me through the whole thing to find the perfect pair of shoes and the perfect insoles. Such an awesome experience, I'm super grateful.

Sean, the owner, usually looks like he is about to take off on foot. Because he actually is. When you constantly see your local running store owner pounding out the miles, it is a good sign. He is passionate, but not pushy. I am honestly a terrible customer, I spend forever picking his brain before buying two pairs of socks, or footwear that I will wear down into nothing before coming back again, but he never seems to mind. He just wants people to put the right things on their feet and take them for a journey.

Shaun is awesome! He does a great job listening to your needs and finding a great shoe to match. I also really appreciate his efforts to support both the Black Mountain running community and Owen High runners!

Great selection and staff who really know running
