Mexico Uno

I love this place. They've been around for over 30 years. Same family running it. 3rd generation at this point. Food is always great. Service is always friendly and on point. It's where I first developed a love for mexican food. I've since eaten at several hundred other mexican restaurants and learned how to cook high quality authentic mexican food at home for my own family. I no longer live in Palatine, but when I am, I stop and enjoy it. Their recipes and quality haven't varied much over the years. It always tastes fresh and homemade. They always give free chips and 3 different salsas. And they give free refills on them. And the quality is great. Fresh fried chips in clean fresh oil. Fresh Pico de Gallo. Like I said, I've been to hundreds of mexican places now, and always, when you show up and the place has put in that kind of effort and attention to detail on a free giveaway like chips, you know that the quality will be there for anything you buy off the menu. And it is. This is probably tied for the best mexican place in Palatine, and I've eaten at them all.

Consistently good food, and friendly people. This is one of my regular spots. My favorite dish is the Pescado a la Plancha, which I would highly recommend if you like fish!

Moved here from Arizona and finally found the best menudo spot! This place is amazing, reasonably priced, delicious food, and super friendly staff. Been here a few times and will continue coming back! Thanks for making me feel like the touch of home I’ve been missing.

Authentic, fresh and delicious homemade Mexican food and beverages to satisfy a wide variety of appetites. Dine-in or carry-out. My family enjoys the traditional recipes at Mexico Uno on a weekly basis!

This is an amazing authentic Mexican restaurant! I would recommend this to anyone who hasn't had Mexican food. This is absolutely delicious l, and I especially love their shrimp tacos!!

Well... I walked in and was quickly greeted by the hostess and I seated myself. There was a great deal to choose from on the menu. I asked the hostess what she would recommend and the Enchiladas Verde was one of the recommendations. The presentation of the meal was done well. I thought the cheese sprinkled on the refried beans was a nice touch. Never saw that done before. The green sauce had good color and was tasty (also not too spicy) and the meat was not ground too fine. It was well seasoned and had good consistency. Another nice caveat was the dinner came with 3 enchiladas standard, but they would give you 2 upon request. I wasn't very hungry so I took them up on their offer. Finally, the price was economical. If you're looking for a good Mexican meal that won't break the bank, give this place a try. I've been going to Palatine for years and driven past this place many times and never noticed it. Thanks to Google maps I'll be adding it to my list of restaurants I frequent.

This place was SUCH a great find! The three salsas at the table when you arrive are all homemade and delicious. The chips are fresh and crispy. The beer is served cold. The fish tacos were fantastic. I loved my Enchiladas Rancheros. Plus the service is super friendly and fast and the prices are great too! Enjoy!

I've been dining here for the last 15 years! The food's very flavorful and authentic (I took my Mexican friends here for dinner multiple times --they definitely vouch for this place)! I usually order the House Special Dinners, like the lengua, parilla, and birria! I also love the tostadas, flautas and the Huevos Rancheros! Another thing I LOVE about Mexico Uno is that you can order Menudo every day (most restaurants only serve it on weekends, which really annoys TF outta me)! Plus, I love that their Menudo also comes with pozole in it--So, I always include it in all my orders! The service is great too--both dine-in and take out; It's quick, efficient, friendly and professional! I love how the restaurant's walls are now mostly painted white (they used to be dark brown)! So now, the inside looks more airy and has a more relaxing vibe to it! I will definitely keep coming back here for my Mexican food cravings!!!

My cousin told us about this place. We live an hour North of Mexico Uno and it was well worth the drive! I had Enchilades Verde , one each Beef, Chicken, Pork. Hubs had Enchilades Poblanus-Steak, we took home the Beef Soup. Out of this WORLD DELISH! Drinks reasonably priced and GREAT! Just wish they weren't an hour away :( Service was wonderful..thank you

The carne asada dinner here is one of my favorite meals anywhere. The family that runs this place are very nice. Been coming here for over 25yrs. Highly recommend.

Been coming here for 25 years. Always good. Always friendly. Always casual. By far the best mole in the area. And horchata is just right. Caldo just like my grandmother used to make. Migas like my grandfather used to make. Also, good margaritas.

I order out almost every week. The food is excellent, but more importantly, it doesn't matter what time of day you call or what holiday it is, the wait time for pickup in rarely more that 15 minutes. They are a well-oiled machine, operating in the area for several decades. In this visit I ate in. The decor is pretty basic, but the service is outstanding and the food is always great. Give it a shot!

Mexico Uno is my absolute favorite Mexican place in the suburbs! Their shrimp tacos are my #1 choice, but I can't wait to try other things there too!
