I went to the post office several times over the holiday and each time it was a good experience. They were well staffed and the line moved fast. The postal employees were so nice and helpful.

Dropped by today expecting bad service cause of the reviews. It was a little busy but the staff was nice and the line was moving at a steady pace. Got in an out within 15 minutes

This is the best post office and my favorite to come to! Each time I need to go to the post office, I drive from Oakland just to come here!

Alameda Main Post Office has plenty of free parking, polite and knowledgeable staff, a self service kiosk. Easy wheelchair access.

This is my favorite post office in the Bay! I’ve been coming here for years and the people who work here are wonderful; always kind, helpful, efficient and knowledgeable in my experience.
While I would never expect perfection, I have yet to have a bad experience here. Even when there are lines they tend to move quite quickly. The negative reviews are, I’m sure, coming from the few unfortunate situations that are bound to crop up here and there throughout the years. People are just much more likely to go out of their way to comment and rate a business when an adverse event happens VS. a positive one. Please keep in mind that for each of the negative reviews, there are hundreds of customers, I’m sure, who come in and out of this store every day with ease and a good experience. We just don’t tend to “write home” about those as much as we probably could ;)

I have been living in Alameda for the past 3 years. My experience at this post office has always been very pleasant. They have been efficient and courteous. I was little surprised by such low rating.

Aminah was amazing and super nice. I had 72 letters that needed certified mail slips and she was patient and fast. Thank you!

With the line out the door on a busy Monday afternoon, it took me less than 10 mins to get through line and less than another 2 to walk out. they had two people helping those waiting in line, walking some over to the automated machine and helping them check out.

I see some of the bad reviews and can't understand where some of these expectations come from. from what I saw today on a random visit, they're doing an excellent job addressing the high volume--more than I had expected.

The workers here are always patient and kind, and some even have a joke or two for each other and the customers. The line moves pretty good, even on days everyone and their mom decides to mail things.

stamp machine broke and it was a few minutes past 5p. was on the verge of a breakdown trying to file my taxes in on time as i imagined the horrible penalties the government would place on my name. nice post office worker bought me a stamp and saved my life. i love you sir

Been going to this office for almost 20 years. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Knowledgeable staff. They take time with each customer to make sure all the needs are met.

I do not recall ever having a bad experience, lived on the island all my life, same experience with every post office I have been to. Guess I am just patient, go figure.

Wow- 3:30 on New Year's Eve and I just had a great experience here. Many windows open and a very friendly clerk!

Plenty of parking. People who work there are good. Mail carriers are awesome. Convenient drive through drop off.

I’ve been going to this post office for years and years. The employees have always been nice, especially during the pandemic.

You have to appreciate they're open on Saturday's until 2pm
