Shop local if you’re an Alameda resident. Broad range of items but limited specializations in certain aspects (think breadth and not depth). They do a good job of choosing quality items in that range, but don’t expect Home Depot or Amazon level of options when looking for say a curtain rod. Smaller items like nuts and bolts they have aplenty. They also did a great job matching my fence’s stain. Friendly workers.

Old time hardware store with knowledgeable and helpful employees. Gentleman went above and beyond to accommodate rekeying a lock when the other person was out to lunch.Forget about the big box stores where no one helps you . You get what you pay for.

Wonderful shop. I asked for a product and they told me that I don’t need it, then took the time to explain to me how to fix the issue without purchasing anything. And it worked. I really appreciate that I was given plenty of advice.

Always a great time. Had exactly what I needed for my trim door panel plastic holders. They have a large selection of nuts and bolts and hardware making it very easy for me to get what I needed.

I travel 30 minutes to come here and there are several hardware stores between home and here. They have what I need, they help me find it, there's parking, and if this location doesn't have something, they have other locations with areas of specialization. A little frustrating when you want paint and you're at the not-the-paint location, but I'll still travel to visit them even if I have to go 2 places sometimes. Not kidding.

I remember the old shop on Lincoln that was a dark labyrinth of towering hardware, old, new, and occasionally antique but they always had anything you could possibly need. This location is clean, bright, and modern with much in the way of household goods, seasonal merchandise, and even some high dollar garden accessories. And while they may not have EVERYTHING, they are probably much safer during an earthquake. Great friendly place, check it out

Pagano's Hardware is a local (to Alameda) gem. Whoever owns it is thoughtful of potential customers needs and cares about providing quality goods and services at reasonable prices. While I paid more for what I purchased than it would have cost at a "big box" store, the convenience and ease of access was worth the extra dollars. They even had products that were not available elsewhere and few enough other shoppers that it was relatively easy to maintain social distancing in the narrow aisles. One especially significant sign of caring is the large fan sitting in front of an open rear door, blowing cool air inside the store. I discovered the store after making an unintended detour coming back from a walk along the shoreline (avoiding crowds) and am so thankful to have done so! This discovery saved me from the noise, confusion, and line waiting that is standard at larger chain hardware and home supply stores, especially these days. Less mental and physical strain, less stress and exactly what I needed to buy. Helped make my day satisfying, productive and joyful!

Love this store! My first time visit and I doubt I will ever go back to that "big box" store again. Everything I need from paint to electrical and even kitchen gadgets. I can't believe how fast I got in and out. I will go back! Thanks, Pagano's!

Very helpful people work here. They have high quality tools that will last. Got a set of high quality channel pliers and a nice ballpeen hammer, al$so a couple of high end varnish brushes.

Great place for hardware AND nice kitchen wares as well. Get that hard-to-find nut, bolt or washer. Find plumbing and electrical. Garden and homewares. Friendly staff get you out fast. High end paint store as well. Get all this and leave with a colorful spatula set because why not?

Love this local hardware store! Family run for years. Always helpful and knowledgeable staff available. They always have what I need. Plus free delicious popcorn to take with you to the beach across the street. 😋 🍿
