Safeway

One of the biggest grocers in Oakland. Their produce section is what I really go for. They have a bit more exotic food choices than the other big grocers in Oakland. They have the best store hours and the freshest stuff. I've never found an expired pastry on the shelf or molded dry salami, unlike another store I've been to. 10 out of 10.

Best Safeway I've ever been to! So many more gluten free and vegan options than other locations. This place is huge and extremely well stocked, you'll find everything you need. Bathroom is disgusting though

I just had an amazing experience with an employee who restored my faith in hu.anity, and I will never forget it as long as I live. I am currently homeless and physically disabled as the result of walking too much on my tired, blistered feet. It makes it hard to do anything, grocery shopping being one of them. I spent quite a while searching the 3 or 4 isles I thought could possibly carry toenail clippers just to turn up short and discouraged by my lack of ability to find them. As I was leaving through an unused checker isle, a beautiful young girl who was bagging the groceries for customers in the next isle, asked me if I had looked on the end caps for the item, and I explained my plight to her and said I might just need to come back next time, because I wasn't sure I could handle any more pain on my injured feet. She insisted that she would be happy to go find them for me. She was so kind and cheerful, and also very thoughtful and told me that I could rest my laurels by sitting on the motorized scooter by the carts. She returned with all three options that she found for me and then offered to ring me up at the closed checkstand so that I wouldn't have to wait in line. The whole time she was just so kind and attentive to me, and she made me feel like my disability didn't make me look weird or gross at all, which is largely how I've been feeling in public recently. Her genuine interest in my happiness and well-being really turned my frown upside down. I really hope her bright spirit and cheerful demeanor, as well as her ability to know a customer's needs, should be acknowledged by management, I think she deserves to hear what an asset she is to the store, and I hope if you guys can manage it that she could even get some kind of bonus or prize, perhaps employee of the month consideration. Her name is Cameron and if there are multiple Camerons then I'd be more than happy identifying her for you guys. Thank you for reading, I had a great time writing this review because my interaction with Cameron this evening was beyond special to me as a customer and a person. It was magical.

Awesome take out food inside Safeway by the Deli area! No line! Ready to eat! I make sure to grab all the awesome veggies and meat and then they also got Thai chicken curry as part of the buffet take out! The curry here is awesome!!! Mix that with all the delish veggies and meat and you got a win for your tummy! Healthy options too👌

What a great place. They got everything inside in a single store. Good parking, great staff and beautiful store. They have wellsfargo bank inside, starbucks and other plenty of stores. Also, the staffs out there are helpful.
Loved this place will be back again. Try this one guys.

This particular Safeway is a little farther from my house but my daughter took me here once and I'd rather drive the extra mile or two with more friendly employees and different atmosphere

Fantastic selection, helpful staff and fast service.
This is one of the 2 new large Safeways I know of in Oakland, with rooftop parking. I never have trouble parking here.
Starbucks coffee located inside.

This is my favorite grocery store. They keep it clean and all staff is very friendly! I like it because really big and not as crowded as others. They have a self serve area with lots of different types of food and also have a full Starbucks with seating. Their produce always seems really fresh. On top of all that, they have lots of parking! Thanks Safeway!

It is great to be greeted by Ms. Mary and Ms. Abby, at Safeway Rockridge Bakery Department. Ms. Mary is very polite and she always makes herself available to assist customers immediately. I usually purchase my co-workers' birthday cake at this location. And, most of the time, Ms. Abby is available to prepare the cake for me and she does a great job writing on the cake. I wish I could name other employees from other departments that have been very helpful to me but I don't know their names. Thank you to every single employee at Safeway Rockridge. You are all amazing! Keep up the good work. And, keep on smiling at your customers!!!

Every Saturday I head to the bakery for 1/2 dozen donuts, freshly baked. Pick up my alternative milk and head to the poetry share. Store is always busy and freshness is obvious. Union workers are happy associates.

I'm allergic to most dairy except for the dairy that comes from a2 cows. Safeway is one of the only places that carries the yogurt and milk that I can consume. I rely on them for my coffee Creamer So that I'm not cranky pants all day. Keep up the good work guys!

I LOVE this Safeway! I've moved out of state for a few years and, just came back a few days ago. It's still as nice as I remember ( prices are FAR higher but, that's nation wide) this is one of the best Safeway locations. Saw a lot of familiar faces still employed here. If u need to get groceries this locations is one of the best.

Big store parking cakes and cookies galore. Area for meat is rather small not a big choice of cuts. Fruit is always fresh grapes green yummy

The PHARMACISTS were beyond good. They were authentic, respectful,and accommodating. I live in Contra Costa but I work in the area and plan to use this location so long as the service stays honest and helpful.

The management gets 1 star for misleading advertisements, giving me a hard time when I call out their scams, and short staffing for their personal convenience and pleasing their owners up above. As if I wanted to rip off you off for a petty a$$ dollar.

U look at me as ridiculous for complaining about a dollar or two and I do the same at you desperate for my last dollar. As if you needed it more.

At 7:35 am they were not as well stocked as I might have expected and the store was fairly crowded (given where were are with the virus). On the whole it was well organized, however, and people were much more chill and orderly in order to maintain the social distancing thing. Someone remarked that's what it should be like the day before Thanksgiving.... updating my former review, this is a well stocked, clean site. We moved closer actually, so being Sfwy card users has gotten us cheaper gas and some darn fine groceries.

They had what we needed. Didn't have many checkers so we waited in line for a bit. But all good, this Safeway was very clean and organized.

This is the biggest and best Safeway in the area. Lots of selections, lots of checkers, big self-checkout section, and a good meat department with people who want to answer your questions. And the largest frozen selections.
