Finally met a girl who’s enthusiastic and courteous (without an attitude) when asking questions and ordering croissants 🥐 and rustic baguette 🥖🤗 (after coming here 4 Saturdays in a row)

Beyond yummy grab-and-go baked goods, Crispian has made us two delicious custom birthday cakes for our kids with great decoration! Unlike many bakeries, they can take custom cake orders the week before, which saved me on one occasion. The baker/owner is very open to working with you on what you want. Our first cake had one layer of vanilla cake and one layer of chocolate cake with our choice of frostings inside and out. More recently (inspiring this review!), we had them substitute lemon curd instead of passion fruit in their chantilly cake and it was lovely -- our whole family raved about how light, moist, and flavorful it was, without being too sweet. Outside of special occasions, we love grabbing Crispian's sesame loaf when we're making soup for dinner.

Crispian Bakery is a great place to get pastries or coffee. The staff is sweet and super helpful. I went twice while on a four day trip. Both times the food was amazing and my lattes were delicious. My daughter can be a little shy to try new food and drinks. The staff there made her feel encouraged to try something out of her comfort zone and even said if she didn't like it they'd give her something else for free. I will be going again next time I'm in Alameda!

today I saw Meaghan demonstrate an unbelievable about of patient with a customer that did not know the similarities of the product serve here. she explain and ensure that the customer understood the differences even thought that customer was super rude to her. I hope I see her again when I come in for my morning coffee and croissant. (highly recommend the Ham and cheese croissant, although a version without all the seeds would be nice to have available as well).

I loved going in there, the vibe is awesome, but more so was the very Helpful Meaghan. She was doing some stuff and dropped it all to make sure I wasn’t waiting in line for long. Thank you!

Crispian is such an amazing bakery. The staff is always friendly and the baked goods are delicious. Can't recommend them enough!

It's worth the trip! Pretzels are amazing! ....not always available ....unique loafs of bread....it is the best place for pastries/bread that I know of so far....highly recommend!

The cashier Clara was very delightful! I got there a little too late in the day to get a croissant but luckily they had some amazing ginger cookies that totally hit the spot! I will go back next time sooner to be able to try what I was originally hoping to get. Overall experience was still fantastic. Personality is paramount!

I have the pleasure of frequenting Crispian Bakery four times in the last two months. Both savory and sweet pastries are well balanced between sweet and savory. Karla the young person who works the window, is one of the.most genuine nice people working anywhere in the customer facing profession.

Great pastries, staff is friendly. They also have a variety of breads and coffee. Local business to support!

This place is incredible. I have tried their pies, cakes, croissants, cream puffs, bread, and it has all been wonderful. My husband loves apple
pie and we got one for Thanksgiving from Crispian and he said it was the best he has ever had. The coffee is also great and the service is too. An absolute Bay Area gem!

Well made coffee and great homemade feel for the baked goods. Fairly priced for the quality you get. I especially recommend the almond croissant. This is not your average pastry! service is always sunny and lovely.

Absolutely the best cake my husband and I have ever eaten! It is the Triple Chocolate Mousse & Grenache cake. They even wrote a message on it for us! Delicious food and friendly and efficient customer service make this a great place and a must visit for all of the baked goods you could ever want or need!

Everything I've ever gotten here has been amazing! It's a good morning walk from my house, with a delicious treat for motivation. Great coffee, too! I've really enjoyed being able to order online during SIP. *Note* they can run out of things, so don't dawdle getting your danish! Especially on the weekends.
They're also (currently) selling really nice cloth masks--as far as I understand it, all proceeds go to Alameda Food Bank (or is it APC? somewhere I support!). =

Seriously, how are they even this good? The cinnamon roll and banana bread are favorites, but it's so hard to choose. Amazing chocolate cake. I don't even like chocolate cake. But theirs is delicious. The pies and bread are also super good. Six stars for having great coffee, too.

Found this jewel randomly on my trip to Alameda. Very friendly staff . Simple functional menu. The best part was the delicious carrot cake!... totally worth it. Try it something different than the simple cakes you get at the market . Cheers!

Everything here is amazing. Using really good ingredients, you can tell every eclair, croissant or scone is made well and thoughtfully. Whether it's a savory bite with goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes or a luscious sticky bun, you can't go wrong here.

Everything here is truly top notch. Some items are a bit more expensive than what you'd find elsewhere. For example, scones at Peet's are $2.75, I think, compared to $3.25 at Crispian's but theirs are made by a dedicated scone baker who makes great combinations like orange zest and chocolate, have perfect texture and are bigger. So it all works out. Go for the scones and you'll be so delighted you'll start trying other treats. Their eclairs are fantastic; breads are excellent. We're always delighted with their chocolate chip cookies and also their ginger cookies--3 types of ginger including candied ginger. It's all so good.

This is my favorite bakery in Alameda now. Their pastries have been amazing, and their coffee, nice and strong. They are on a pricier side, but it reflects their great ingredients they use as well as their artisan techniques.
