Nob Hill Foods

I visited Nob Hill Foods in Alameda the day before Thanksgiving around 1 PM, and to my surprise, it wasn't crowded. My primary goal was a fruit tart, but I left with $75 worth of other items – a testament to the store's diverse offerings. Nob Hill Foods lived up to expectations; it's well-stocked with everything you need. A convenient pre-holiday shopping experience.

A looks new, feels new Nob Hill. The produce is well arranged, and fresh. There seem to be plenty of fresh fruits. The Asian food selection is pretty good and includes sauces and spices that you might only find in an Asian store. The staff is friendly, ready to lend a helping hand. There's also an ATM right inside.

Very nice grocery store. From radishes to house hold needs it's there. Nice variety of produce and meats. Entrees available such as fresh made sandwiches

They are so so so nice here!! I love the staff, they always looked out for you and will often wave or check in to see how you have been. We love you Nob Hill!!! This is the standard for what a supermarket should be❤

Comprehensive, well-maintained and easy to navigate super market. Hot and cold salad bars plus a sushi bar. Peet’s Coffee and Poppy Bank are inside as well as a U.S. Post Office. Nice areas inside and outside for eating or having a cup of coffee.

This is my local grocery store. They have sushi. They have a meat market. They have a bakery. They make fresh sandwiches. It's wonderful

Good place to come shopping. It's clean and their dessert selection is great.

I've been shopping here since I was a kid. It's where my grandma went to shop for groceries. They have a great variety of food products, as well as smaller sections for things like cleaning products and pet supplies. Sure, it's typical of a lot of other supermarkets, but there's a way that they do it better. It might be because it's a store I grew up with, so I might be a bit biased.

I will say, I think the layout and atmosphere and general look of the store just feels right for what it is. One of the better looking supermarket brands out there. And I'm not just saying that when it comes to this location on its own, but other Raley's stores I've shopped at (also part of the Nob Hill brand). There's just a distinct feel to them I don't get at most other stores. If you took away the name and put me in one of their stores, I would know instantly what store I was in. One of the highlights is the stress free shopping: no separate contained sections or congested, poorly designated aisles like most other stores now.

What am I saying here?
It's a great supermarket with a special atmosphere you won't get anywhere else and yes, the food, even store brand, is high quality and always fresh (at least I've never had a problem in this category). The prices have been historically on the high side, but it's no different than your typical Safeway, Lucky, etc. In recent years they have really stepped up their game, and often many, many products throughout the store go on sale. There's always products on sale for great prices. And it can often be cheaper than other stores.

If you're tired of shopping at the other stores, give Nob Hill Foods a chance. You won't regret shopping here!

Prices were very decent and having a full service Peet's coffee shop was nice. Breakfast burritos from the deli we're awesome.

Its yer normal Nob Hill store. Meaning its got good customer service, is a clean organized store, and its well stocked. Good meat and veggie selection w its own bakery onsite. My wife wishes for Nob Hill or Raleys in Colorado.

Came in early to get salade for lunch waited 15 minutes for the salade bar to be completed still waiting don't advise you pick up salade for lunch in the morning I'm still waiting going to be late for work the lady in the sandwich department is rude she needs to watch her tone of voice I'm still here no beets or onions, bell pepper ,the mean nasty lady is not kool.

Overall fast service at every department. For the most part staff is friendly except one person here and there but nothing that would cause a problem. My only problem is with the food bar. They don't have anything that is too tasty. In comparison whole foods is much better in almost every aspect of the food bar. Whole foods is much more expensive, however. I do have to say their produce is really good. Meat selection is ok but nothing too fancy. Regardless, have been coming multiple times weekly for years and I will continue to do so.

Our go to grocery store for the last four years. Recently moved and while we’ll find another, I will miss the old place. It’s not amazing or anything, just consistent, clean and generally well stocked. Line waits were always a laugh though, cause even at high volume they’d still only open three or four lanes. But hey, if I didn’t always buy alcohol I could use the self checks more. So that’s kind of on me too.

This is mu favorite grocery store in Alameda. The produce, meat and fish are always of great quality. I usually have groceries delivered, but our heat-and-serve Thanksgiving dinner had to be picked up. The pick-up wait time was maybe 3 minutes, which I consider great service. More recently I shopped in the store. The signage helped me find the items I needed and checkout was easy.

Any place that sells Hatch green chiles gets 5 gold stars from me! But seriously the produce is always spot on. Well maintained! And every employee I’ve talked to were so friendly and helpful. This is now my go-to store!

I love Nob Hill. There is a nice variety of all kinds of foods, even international. There is a hot wok, fresh deli and bakery, and a Peet's coffee shop inside too.

One of my favorite grocery stores. Always relaxing, clean, nice workers. A little more expensive than other stores, but it's worth it for the pleasant experience, if you can manage it. Wine, alcohol, cheese, & seafood selection are pretty good. I get all my birthday cakes here, their bakery is awesome.
