When you first walk in the door you get that I am at home feeling. You know the feeling, when you walk in the house you speak in the house speaks. I have really learned a lot about cigars by talking to staff. Very knowledgeable.

Best cigar shop in town..great selection and good prices

I come to this store every year to get some cigars for a Valentine’s Day gift, it’s a tradition. Every time I have a great experience, and the gift recipient is very happy with the selection the the gentlemen at the shop help me choose. This shop is also a sort of a social club where guys hang out and smoke, and the atmosphere is always very friendly and pleasant. The variety of cigars they carry is very large, the location is convenient with a lot of parking spaces.

This place is great, Murray is the best!!! It’s a really fun place to hang out and wind down after a long day. Very nice selection of cigars, comfortable atmosphere. Come watch the game and you will never want to leave.

I have frequented this establishment for 25+ years. The cigars are second to none, The atmosphere is friendly and diverse. And of all the tobacconists providing service I must say that Murray continues to provide the highest level of service, tutelage and patience for new customers. Great job! Really receptive and welcoming regulars for a first time cigar smoker. Excellent pipe and cigar selection, with experts all around for newcomers. Military are welcome and supported, the place has history.

The nicest guys in the world work here, especially Mike G. It's quite an experience to visit this place. Smells make memories, so if you are not a regular (and there are always a lot of regulars milling about), you're going to instantly be transported back to your dad, your grandpa, some old college professor... Whoever it was in your life who smoked cigars or tobacco pipes. Hopefully that is a pleasant experience for you as it was for me.

The friendly and knowledgeable staff are always happy to give recommendations. I smoke the occasional cigar and they have never lead me astray. Usually I smoke a pipe and I have always been impressed with their selection of pipe tobacco as well as smoking tools and pipes themselves. I even brought in one of my pipes to ask about it's history and was given some great information.

I've been coming here for probably about 10 years or so and for me it's my favorite spot to sit down and have a smoke. There's a charm to the place that is hard to put into words. It's not your fancy cigar lounge with leather chairs, local brews, and high-end scotch. What it IS, is a great local spot with a living room vibe, lived in furniture, and regulars who will strike up conversation with anyone that comes in. They don't serve alcohol which is kind of a plus because the cigars are significantly cheaper than some other places in town. So if you're like me and just need a coffee with your smoke you'll be good. They always have a special going on and I've happened to come in at times that they've been doing a BBQ and they've always hooked it up with food. If you do need food there are some pretty good spots to grab some grub and bring it into the shop.

Great selection. Decent prices. Friendly staff. Relaxed environment and good coffee. Plenty of TVs for sports. Indoor and outdoor seating. No bar, but that seems to work out okay here. It's all about good tobacco, lively conversation, and sports. Perhaps a bit on the "manly" side for the fairer types, but all seem welcome.

Where do I start. Found this place based on a recommendation and boy was it one of the best recs I have ever gotten. From the minute you walk I you feel like you are at home. People smile and say hi. the staff Michael and Ben are happy and excited to help you find what you want. Why this place does not 5 stars on here is beyond me. Like really I want to know. I will tell everyone I know that smokes to come here. Great prices for Cali with a super homie vibe.

Not only does Liberty has a fantastic array of fine tobacco, they also have the best customers and employees. I have been going to this shop for over 25 years now and I look forward to going again today. They open in twenty minutes . . . I'll be getting a box for my daughter's wedding. - - - - - However, when I got there, there was nobody there and it said it was closed. I wonder if it has gone online. I'm gonna miss that place.

The smoke shop is a nice place to hang out at everybody treats you as a true friend so if anybody looking to go there you'll be happy

Liberty is a fantastic store, catering to all tobacco needs. Found this place while searching for a pipe club, and they had one each Sunday 2-5 prior to covid, great selection of pipe tobacco, cigars and even have RYO tobacco for cigarettes.

Great lounge area, you can watch your favorite sports team and have a lively conversation with almost anyone.

Probably the best cigar store in San Diego why ? because it has a giant cigar selection, along with reasonable prices (prices would be 30% higher if it was downtown) and you can smoke there, inside and out if you like. Not pretentious, knowledgeable and friendly .I've probably shopped there 8 times in the last year and have not had a bad experience.

I believe it may be the oldest tobacco store in San Diego and don't tell me about "Laramie Tobacco" in old town , limited selection ,behind the counter where you can't even peruse them unless you had a gun and ,staffed by arrogant folks who are charging ridiculous prices.

Murray makes Saturday night at Liberty fun. great personality, always has a fun quip at the ready. makes the night go smooth, easy and fun. Sunday's also, Ben has a smooth easy way about him. his knowledge always allows me to pick a new cigar and enjoy it. miss yankee joe, but can't have it al....or can u?!

I've been to a number of tobacco shops over the years and can say, without a doubt, that Liberty has them all beat in every aspect. Their selection of cigars is fantastic and everything is reasonably priced. Everyone that I know that smokes cigars or rolls their own cigarettes goes to Liberty. The customer service is fantastic and they are always friendly. One thing I hate about most tobacco shops is always feeling like I'm being watched or don't belong, well the guys at Liberty are always awesome and knowledgeable. They even gave my fiancee a free flavored cigar so she could smoke with me! I went there as long as I was in San Diego and can't recommend it enough!
