Irina's Restaurant & Bar

AWESOME! The beverage selection is pretty impressive and the food menu always has some good finds. I HIGHLY recommend the Russian sandwich (to die for!). I also suggest going on a weekend when they are doing the ribs special. They are the best in town. There’s a lot to love about this place. It can be a little pricey, but it’s great for a date night or a special occasion.

We had a great time on our first visit!
We ate in the lounge which is perfectly dark and intimate, just right for a relaxing meal and conversation. Our server was friendly and attentive and gave us great recommendations. The Boursin Mushrooms were really great as our appetizer. I had the bone-in porkchop which was smoky with a great glaze. My wife had the salmon salad which she really enjoyed. Irina herself stopped by to chat for a moment and she's very charming. We will certainly be back!

The food is delicious and the presentation is unmatched!

The flights of vodka are incredible, you won't find them anywhere else.

Had large group on patio. Nice setting. Staff took good care of us. Drinks good. Had Southern Russian. Nice mix of appetizers. Entree had blackened chicken alfredo. It was good. Group had mix of steaks and seafood and other pastas. All large servings and great presentation and flavor.

Great place to go for food and drink.
The Almost Famous Mac & Cheese was delicious. Last week I had the Lobster Ravioli- homemade goodness.
Everything on the menu look delicious. The atmosphere is soothing. The staff is friendly.

Absolutely amazing food and drinks. Meats were perfect temp as requested. Server was wonderful and right on top of everything. Expect a longer wait on your food compared to other restaurants. Wife and I had our entrees about 45 minutes from the time we sat down. The wait was perfect for us as we had a great conversation while eating our appetizers and having a few drinks. Food was very fresh and cooked to perfection. Our new favorite restaurant. They can expect us twice a month now.

We had a larger group and the staff still did an excellent job taking care of us. We all had different dishes and they were all great. I had the pork chop. The carmelized apples were delicious. Highly recommended!

We went for dessert. The atmosphere was calm and soothing. Relatively fancy. Definitely a place to dress nice for. Not quite formal but definently better the your Sunday best. I had my 9mnt old child with. Really expected to be shunned for having a baby in a place like this. That was not the case. Their service was more than excellent. I can't say enough good things about all the staff I encountered. All three dishes we chose where delightful and the presentation was beautiful. The best part were the prices. Not cheap, but in my opinion very reasonable. To say the least I will absolutely be returning for a dinner date some time and present myself accordingly. Highly recommend this place for special occasions.

This place is fantastic! The service we received was terrific and welcoming. We really enjoyed the ambiance and vibe of the joint. The music and lighting set it right away. Irina placed us at the table and Cici took our order. Food was delicious! Perogies and shrimp first and we followed that up with lamb and herb chicken. Everything was cooked to perfection and the rolls that accompanied the entrees were warm, crusty and delightful. Thanks Irina for making our visit wonderful.

How have I missed this restaurant for so long??? It's delightful and a new favorite. The crab dip appetizer in the first photo was out of this world! 2 entrees for this trip were the almost famous mac and cheese which was basically lobster mac and cheese and the lamb shanks "not pictured". So good I almost want to go right back and order everything again! Mango Creme Brulee for dessert and I had 2 drinks whipped chocolate and sticky bun. So everything was delicious with no complaints here on anything. My table was ready to go and we arrived 10 mins early, all safety precautions in place! Love it! I plan on being back again and again and again!

I enjoyed the restaurant this restaurant. The steak and shrimp with mashed potatoes were done right. This is a gourmet restaurant with great customer service. I enjoyed speaking to the owner. The receive a 10 out of 10 as the best places to eat in Des Moines, IA

Nice atmosphere and just the right amount of background noise that conversation is easy and no need to raise your voice.
The food is top notch. Kinda funny "antenna" garnish on most of the plating.

Wonderful... Ask about the vodka.
Get the vodka.
Get the blackened Shrimps.
Sage chicken was amazing great filling of bacon, spinach and feta.
Steak Deburgo was surprised, can't say best I've ever had, but cuts off meat were medallions and not bigger filet.

First time we visited! We were wanting to try something new in the Des Moines area, and this place is a gem! You walk inside and you feel like you are in a different place. It was beautiful! The food was amazing and the drinks were fantastic. I can't wait to come back!

As of this review I have been to Irina's twice, and between the exquisite food and wonderful atmosphere I have been enchanted both times. In particular the musical selections are fantastic, and I look forward to returning soon!

Six guys, huge steaks, excellent appetizers,great drinks, we were there for 4 1/2 hours eating drinking telling lies and other stories.
I'm glad the company picked up the tab. The tip alone was probably what my wife and I spend on groceries for a week.

We sat in the bar area for appetizers and they quickly pulled a couple tables together for us, brought drink and appetizers quickly; they took care of us so well it was like my grandmother making sure the parish priest was comfortable when he stopped by to check on a sick kid. The staff are so well trained, even the young ones, amazing.

The meal was excellent. Guys were swapping chunks of beef, wet aged for dry aged, just to taste the difference.Desserts were huge. We didn't run the entire menu, but the sauces we did taste were top notch. The drinks were expertly mixed.

One word of caution, when you first step in the place, slow down, because it is dark in there. Even at night it is darker inside than in the parking lot.

The neighborhood is appropriately trendy, very close to the shopping district, well lit, clean and appears safe.

Took my beautiful wife and 4 kids to Irinas last nite for mothers day dinner. I have to say that it was awesome. My steak was out of this world. Never in 50 years have I had a steak that perfect. The surf/turf was great. In total we spent 250.00 on 6 meals. And best 250 we ever spent. Left a 50 tip. Shout out to Shaq.

New to the area and were excited to try some place new. Irina's did not disappoint! Loved the jazz accompaniment our meal. The pierogies were delicious as were our entrees. The rolls were amazing. The staff was friendly and efficient. Irina's is on our "go back" list and there are plenty of things we'll try.
