Mussels were fabulous. FAAAABULOUS. Drank the juice til I was drowning in garlic, wine butter and it dripped down my chin. I have zero regrets.

Blackened shrimp Cobb salad was very good. Their creamy parm is better than their ranch. Plenty of toppings, which is what a good salad should have. I can eat a head of lettuce for $0.79 at home if that’s all I want…the toppings are where it’s at.

But ohhhhhh hello rare prime rib! This 12oz prime rib was fanTASTIC! So juicy and the vegetable sides were perfect, asparagus was not overcooked like so many places serve. Cali veg blend could use a little more love but it’s a basic side dish and the asparagus made up for it ❤ not to mention the prime rib

This is a little more upscale than where I usually visit. Elegant but actually well priced. We ordered 2 different meals. Seafood creole was absolutely delicious with shrimp, fish, mussels, tomatoes, green peppers and more. Other meal was steak medallions with sweet potato fries. Perfect sear on the beef and very tender and juicy with a good salty taste. Fries were really crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Raspberry mule afterwards for her which was fabulous. I tried the Lagavulin 16 year 2 ounce pour. A bit strong but I wanted to try it out. Overall, a great visit for us. We would definitely return and try other dishes. This lady classed up the deco too! Spent about 75 but 35 was drinks. Server was really professional and fast. Food came fresh, hot and quickly.

Great cozy place for drinks and lunch or dinner. Everything I've had had been great! Shrimp Bisque is sooo good! If so inclined, Nick's Martini is great!

They have a daily happy hour which includes some of their half off apps and $5 mules and a couple other drink options. I got their peach orange mule, it was very good.

Cozy swanky place we love to get dinner. Had Mahi Mahi and ribs. So GOOD. Chocolate lava cake. Mint ice cream. Divine.

Went there with the gf around 1 on Saturday. Not a lot of people mostly older crowd but great conversation! Got some appetizers, shrimp was good, small onion rings was a ton. Good mix drinks.

Better than expected! Nice portion of Ahi and sides. Very good house mule.

We shared my nephew Jacob Gebelein’s birthday here. They had the best steak ever.

Had a great conversation with the owners. The French Dip was too good to take a picture before biting into it.

Wonderful customer service! Ordered take out and there was a mix up but the bartender definitely took care of us and made sure we still had the best experience possible. Will definitely come again.

I called in a reservation for my parent's anniversary and the staff went above and beyond to treat them well. The food was delicious (they had the salmon). Justin was very accommodating, polite, and personable. I was very impressed by how they took the time out of their day to make my parent's day special. I have been here myself and had excellent service as well. Do not hesitate to come here for your next special occasion!

Exceptional food and service. This is my favorite drinking and dining spot in Des Moines. Local ownership that focuses on quality food and drinks. Servers are kind and work hard to make sure your dinning experience is enjoyable. Great steaks, southern-fried chicken, blackened salmon, and thin onion rings. Reasonably priced.

Everyone was so kind! I tried the bbq sauce and it was amazing! I asked what kind it was and apparently it’s made in-house along with their amazing mashed potatoes and everything else. Nothing premade! It was so good and I’ll definitely be coming back again.

Wonderful grill with lots of amazing choices on the menu. I got the grilled salmon with asparagus and it was delicious. The service was fantastic. They also had a wide variety of wine and drink. I'd highly reccomend everyone check it out.

The outside of the building doesn't represent the inside at all. Inside is beautiful with a great atmosphere. Food was amazing and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Complimentary bread was great. Was a little pricey but you get what you pay for! Best pasta I've ever had!

I absolutely adore this place! The atmosphere is quite unique and comparable to urban grill! The food, including all pasta dishes, are absolutely divine! I came here with a friend on a whim and never would have on my own because I've never heard of it! I definitely recommend this place!

Went in during lunch hour. The waitstaff immediately had our group taken care of before we could even take our cold-weather outerwear off. The meat was tender and juicy and came astonishingly perfunctorily. I'd highly recommend for business lunches or a decent sit down suaree.

Nick's is always very warm and comfortable, and a great place for professionals to meet to discuss business, or just have a quick lunch.
I don't eat there during dinner, so I can't vouch for their evening business, but there lunch menu and service is always outstanding. I've been eating there for over 17 years, and I continue to go back.
By the way, get the chicken noodle soup. It's the best in town!
