Lyndale Guest House

What a fantastic little guest house. Alison is so friendly and welcoming, not only to us but our dog as well. The room was clean and cosy, shower nice and hot. Breakfast was delicious and the location was spot on and to top it off you get a parking pass that can be used in other locations around the lakes. We'll definitely be going back in the near future.

Just returned home from two nights at Lyndale Guest House
It is in good location between Ambleside and the lake.
Parking nearby which is free for guests We found the accommodation perfect for us and Meg our greyhound who loved her morning sausage from Alison, our host. Lyndale has a warm and friendly feel and it is spotlessly clean. Must mention the comfy bed. The breakfast was really good and filled us up for the day ahead. Varied menu to suit all tastes. Alison is so friendly and welcoming. We would recommend Lyndale Guest House for your stay in Ambleside

Thanks Alison. Lovely place. Rooms very clean and contemporary. Great location. Fairly close to town, walkable, but not too noisy. Within 10 mins walk of the main bus stop in Ambleside and bus stops within a couple of minutes. Very nice breakfast and service. Informative local knowledge and books at hand. Ambleside is a great base to explore the Lakes with a lot going on during the night and day. I hope to return.

We’ve been staying at Lyndale for over 20 years through several previous owners and Alison, the current owner, is the perfect host every time we stay. We book out the whole B&B as we sometimes number 10 (as we did this weekend just gone) and we always make a bit of noise when we get back after a few drinks in Ambleside. Her cooked breakfast is excellent & the perfect start to a day walking on the fells. The bedrooms are currently being upgraded to a more modern look but they still retain their cosyness.

Everything you want and need from a bed and breakfast. Friendly service, helpful and available management. A nice clean, quiet and spacious room with nothing lacking.

The breakfast was perfect, a full English with local ingredients cooked to order and a selection of cereals and fruit to compliment, with family friendly serving times. Other hot breakfasts could be picked from a menu.

We stayed prior to a wedding and asked for the breakfast to be made available earlier to accommodate a full day of timings, this was happily done.

Very clean and recently decorated. Host was great and recommended some good local restaurants for tea. 5 min walk from Ambleside town centre and lake Windermere. Full breakfast included was good. Good location for a bit of exploring

Brilliant place to stay, exceptionally clean, great breakfast, good location, fantastic host, free parking not only at guest house but numerous other places in the lake district.would definitely recommend

Comfortable B&B half a mile south of town centre. Alison is a friendly host, rooms are pleasant with plenty of storage, effective shower and comfortable bed.

The big selling point is that the place welcomes dogs - and welcomes rather than tolerates them, as Alison is herself a dog lover. Dog towels are provided by the entrance in case your canine has got wet in the District's rain, which of course it has plenty of.

Breakfast is ample - everything table service at present. A nice touch - a full carafe of juice to start plus a wide choice of cereals.

There is a small outside area facing the road accessed from the breakfast room which must be nice when the sun shines, which was seldom during my visit sadly.

It's near the bus stops and those travelling by car get a pass for the Low Fold car park two minutes away.

Care is needed as the property fronts directly onto the road and the pavement is quite narrow.

You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay at this place.

Great B&B. Stayed here twice in single and double room. 10 minute walk into ambleside and 5 minutes walk to Windermere pier. Great night sleep very quiet. Breakfast include cerials, fruit, juice, tea coffee plus full English, vegetarian breakfast or breakfast sandwiches. Rooms has TV, tea making facilities and WiFi all included.

We had a fabulous 3 night stay here. A lovely clean room. Breakfast was filling and really tasty. Lots of choices too. Staff were very attentive and made us feel very welcome, so much so, we've booked again next year. Thank you Alison x

Lovely place to stay. not too far from town, Ambleside boat pier and nearby walks. The lady was extremely friendly from check-in to check-out. Breakfast was excellent. No parking on-site but parking was just a minutes walk to a nearby car park with a permit supplied by the hotel.
We will be returning at some point in the future.

Very nice 2 night stay, clean comfy bed and excellent breakfast, 5 minutes walk to Ambleside pier to catch the boat for various stops on Lake windermere and 5 minutes in the other direction to the town centre so great location, owner very nice, will definitely stay there again

Recently stopped at Lyndale guest house, Alison is a great host, the rooms were clean and comfortable, it was maintained to a high standard, the location was perfect, the food was cooked to perfection using quality ingredients

Alison the hostess is lovely and cooks a great English breakfast. The surrounding area is scenic and such a central place to be in the Lakes to venture out to all areas. Think this may be a yearly trip fron now on.

Lovely place. Very friendly staff, amazing room and great breakfast. Will definately stay here again if/when I return to the Lake District!

Another great feature is the free parking pass at various local attractions and car parks if you stay here.
