Great little walk.
Wear proper footwear as it is quite steep and rocky in places.
The whole circular will take approx 35mins.
It is an excellent hike for a newbie or young ones.
Not suitable for prams.
Can get quite busy so early arrival is advised.
The waterfall views are great as you can see from my photos.

Absolutely beautiful place to see.
Only a short walk, so don't expect a day out.

Great waterfall. Easy to reach from Ambleside. Woodland trail paths to the waterfall, along with a couple of wooden bridges. I headed up Wansfell Pike/ Baystones then descended back to Ambleside via the waterfall. Great place for a stroll or a dogwalk.

This is a beautiful gem! Hidden a stones throw away from Ambleside Town, you won't be disappointed to take the short walk to investigate! For the falls, you would park in the main carpark in Ambleside. Its only a 5 minute walk from there. The trail is a little sketchy in places, lots of tree roots and rocks to navigate over, it can be slippy in places on a wet day too so take your time. The loop is approximately 1.4 miles from start to finish and this will take you around all the Waterfalls which are just incredible. I would absolutely suggest you take a little detour from the village to visit the falls trail.

Nice gentle walk. Quite boggy in parts with a lot of leaves but this was November so wear shoes you don't mind getting dirty. Opportunity to climb a style and go to a Café at the top.

Easy to find. My family’s first hike. Highly recommended it to those family with kids who wanted to hike.

Nice easy walk up the river valley from Ambleside (or a bit less easy over the top of Wansfell Pike!). Very well laid out, good paths and very spectacular indeed after heavy rain.

I wasn't aware tickets were needed, we just walked there from ambleside then carried on up Wansfell Pike. Lovely place not many people around, a bit steep and slippery in places.

What a beautiful walk so close to the village. So many waterfalls, so many places to stop and take pictures. There is a loop walk here if you want to but it’s not suitable for buggies the main path is fine but once you are at the top it gets uneven and very muddy in places. If you are in Ambleside. This is must do walk.

Loved the walk trail that takes you to the stunning views of waterfalls. Enjoyed cup of coffee at 'Force Cafe' just near the waterfall. Walk from Ambelside is bit tough as you need to walk all the up tha hill. Take care if you are ready to walk with kids 😊

Very short walk. It won't take you more than 20 to 30 minutes to get to the waterfalls depending on your pace.
Very easy to walk with kids
Parking should be on the town, there is one close to the waterfalls but you need a disc and the space is for only 4 cars. I believe it's for 1 hour.
We really recommend the visit

Lovely place to go for a circular walk and to see these beautiful falls. If you like taking photos of waterfalls like me, you'll love it.

My Wife, 6yr old daughter and I parked in the town centre of Ambleside. We walked to the top of the falls and back down. Took about 1h ¾ at a gentle pace. You need a little bit of fitness and agility about you to complete this walk. Not suitable for pushchairs/wheelchairs.
Following recent heavy rain, the left hand side of the river was very slippy, so wear correct footwear. You can use the 2 bridges to do the walk in a big circle, therefore being able to see the falls from all angles and heights. It was a great walk and we would do it again if we returned to the area.

A beautiful walk along both sides of the stream with a series of waterfalls. Uneven and slippery terrain so wear proper shoes, but otherwise no real hiking experience needed. Daffodils were still blooming mid April, and there was an abundance of wild garlic, the woods actually smelled of them. Lovely place, definitely worth a visit, just a 10 minute walk from Ambleside town center.

A Great waterfall, a bit muddy to get to when it's been raining if you use the path by the river and not the road.

If you walk up to see the falls when there's been a lot of rain, or in our case in the heavy rain, then make sure you wear appropriate footwear or your feet will get very wet.
Stunning views of the waterfalls, despite the gloom of the mid afternoon and they were incredibly loud as the river was so full.
Lovely autumnal colours too.

Absolutely loved walking around Stock Ghyll. Most reviews mention the walk usually takes 1 hour but we took 2 hours to finish the walk because the forest in autumn is magnificent. We park near the entrance, make sure to have a parking disc that you can get for free from any store nearby the area.

Lovely walk in Ambleside, not far from shops which makes for a good walk before shopping or eating out. Incredible views that you wouldn't expect so close to town. It can be a bit of a slippery and tricky climb when wet but well worth the effort for the views at the top
