The Ambleside Toy Shop

This is a gem of a shop, with friendly, knowledgeable staff, who genuinely care that you find exactly what you're looking for. An excellent, high quality selection of toys for young and old! Both modern and traditional toys. I was like a kiddie in a sweet shop!

This is a lovely little shop full of toys that aren’t your normal toys in standard shops and really good price. The owner was really great at showing us all of the board games, willing to show us them all which was really good to actually try them… and we actually bought 2 games from him as we got to try them out first. A really really lovely shop and an even better owner. We will be visiting this shop more often. Excellent service!!

Pricing reasonable and not filled with tat like too many toy shops today.

If you're looking for games / card games the owner was incredibly supportive and friendly in providing advice and recommendations.

Will definitely come again next time we're up, to restock our collection.

A fabulous toy shop!!! What a lovely selection of toys and games it has, no cheap, garish, plastic rubbish. Great staff who were incredibly helpful and welcoming. My little boy LOVED the wooden train selection and it was great to buy individual track pieces that we needed instead of a whole box. A refreshing change from all the usual toy shops.

Fantastic little independent toy shop in Ambleside. The lady who owns it is so knowledgeable about all the games she stocks, she took time to explain some games and help us choose one for the right age group. She also helped my eldest find the best marbles!

Lovely member of staff who let us play in their with our 2 year old for ages. She even let us pull boxes off the shelves to make stairs to try out a slinky spring. A very child-friendly and play-friendly attitude which is just what toy shop needs.

We were kindly assisted by a lovely member of staff, who helped us choose a game ("Forbidden Island") to play with our eleven year old son. The advice we were given was excellent and we are so pleased with our purchase!
