I went in for some walking boots today and the guy who helped me was really helpful. Super friendly staff and helped me find the right for me and the type of hiking I do. Highly recommend these guys if you're unsure what you're after. Good range of womens boots that are not pink/purple for once.

Very good after sales service I had to return the garment due to the wrong size and they refunded the money straight away. I had ordered it through Amazon so re-ordered the correct size which was delivered quickly. The staff were very helpful and friendly on the phone which was very much appreciated. I would not hesitate to recommend them!

I popped in twice during my recent visit to the Lakes. I had a quick browse on the first occasion, and I was offered assistance by an attentive staff member.
On my second visit, I nipped upstairs to browse the footwear section with a replacement for my walking shoes in mind, which I’d decided had finally had their time.
The lad who came to assist me asked all the right questions regarding my needs, arch issues, how I typically like my shoes etc. He recommended a wide selection and I left with a pair of North Face shoes. As I left he said to check out the cycle shop, and I left with a Madison long sleeved jersey that was on sale.
An all round great experience, I’ll be returning next year!

On a side note, I see all these low scores for the no-dogs policy. Please remember that not everyone is a dog person, some of us (like me) are also severely allergic to dogs. I shouldn’t have to worry about coming out in hives, having bleary eyes and developing breathing problems because outdoor shops are the only clothing stores making exceptions for non-assistance animals. I have to be careful about merely touching items, never mind trying them on or buying them. Before anyone mentions them, antihistamines just don’t cut it either as a preventative measure or remedy!
There was probably a reason for it, whether it was generally hygiene related or incidents involving dogs going to the toilet, barking, fighting, chewing stuff or bundling around. Even one incident is one too many, I can see why the store management have taken this stand. Good on them for sticking their neck out to make an unpopular but logical decision. I suspect some other shops would like to do the same, but fear the backlash.

I visited the store on the afternoon of Saturday 20th January to return a pair of faulty boots. The customer service was excellent, especially from Jackie who dealt with the transaction and the assistant who helped me choose a new pair. (I'm sorry, I didn't get her name, but I think it was Lenka? The boots I bought were Explorer Trek GTX LDS in a size 5 if that helps to identify the assistant). Thanks again to both of you.

Jack was amazing today! Me and my mum came in looking for coats and he went above and beyond to help us both. I actually ended up leaving with two coats. Great customer service.

Bought a raincoat back in October and a super kind lady spent a good while helping me find the perfect coat and was really helpful, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. Had some issues with the coat recently so got back in touch with the store, they’ve been incredibly helpful (which I’m honestly not surprised by based on my previous lovely visits) and very speedy and thorough in their responses. Couldn’t recommend an outdoor store more highly than these guys. Will give you brilliant advice and clearly care about their customers.

Top drawer customer service as always. Loads of friendly staff, and all very knowledgeable and keen to help. The shop itself is massive, and incudes many reduced items as well as the latest gear.

Addition... on my last visit I overhead staff training on a product I was interested in and the group didn't mind me joining in and asking questions. I cannot rate this place highly enough 5*****

I've been after a new backpack for absolutely ages. Visited Ambleside at the weekend and popped in to see what they had on offer. We were approached by Rod to see if he was able to help. He was very knowledgeable and helped me to pick out the perfect bag. Also gave us loads of hints and tips to make sure it was being worn properly when we go out walking. He also helped a friend who had bought a bag elsewhere and had some questions about functionality. Superb guy and a credit to the store. Thanks for your help Rod.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Ambleside Cycles at Gaynor's Sports and was thoroughly impressed by the level of service and expertise on offer. The staff, particularly Michael, were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure that I had a great experience.

But the real highlight of the visit was Andy's gravel routes. As an avid mountain biker, I was looking for some new trails to explore, and Andy did not disappoint. He recommended some truly amazing routes that offered a perfect mix of challenging terrain and stunning scenery. I can't wait to go back and try some more of his suggestions.

Overall, I highly recommend Ambleside Cycles at Gaynor's Sports to any cycling enthusiast. Whether you're in need of some new gear or simply looking for some great routes to explore, this is the place to be. Don't forget to say hello to Michael and Andy while you're there!

I've visited Gaynor Sports in the Lake District and ordered online. The store is great to browse and has a large selection of products. Unfortunately, I recently had an issue with a pair of walking shoes ordered online. I contacted support and supplied photos to show the problem. They replied with a pre-paid return label. They needed to contact the manufacturer so the returns process took a few weeks. Overall, I'm happy with my experience and I would not hesitate to order again.

Absolute treasure trove of a store - like stepping into one of those big US thrift stores, but everything's brand new outdoor gear. Insane discounts on really quality brands. Lovely and helpful staff too. Highly recommend!

I ordered a North Face coat from Gaynor and my service start to finish was fantastic. I ordered the jacket and believe I had it within 24 hours of the purchase. Unfortunately, I ordered a size that was to small so I had to return it. I followed the instructions and sent it back promptly. Within 3 days of sending it back I had an email saying my fund will be sent back to me. I read some reviews saying the return policy was not good, so wanted to share my positive story. I would recommend them to anyone.

I bought a waterproof while on holiday in September and unfortunately had issues with it. I returned this week and I was nicely taken aback at how helpful the team were in sorting out the issue. They saved me time waiting for a replacement, were able to trace my transaction from months ago and left me feeling like a well-looked after customer. I'll definitely return on our next holiday for future purchases. Thank you (Mark?) in customer services.
