Schuler Books Ann Arbor

Fantastic bookstore. It still says Nicola’s Books on the sign, but it is a Schuler’s. They are the best Michigan bookstore chain IMO. There are tons of magazines, books, games, kids toys and books and so much more. A huge area in the back for someone to read to kids with chairs set up. My wife and I found this recently and made a special trip down to Ann Arbor to visit. Well worth it. Excellent bookstore.

I absolutely love the atmosphere here. Not only that but the entire set up. I love how there is so many books front facing vs just lined up looking at the binding. I think it's a lot easier to find books this way but also shows off so many beautiful illustrations on the covers. The staff is so generous and kind. They seemed to have all the newest of the new books right up front. I love their tables they set up as well. While it is a little pricey (like everything now) I don't think it's more than other large sellers though. Such a lovely place and I can't wait to return

Very comprehensive selection. Lots of staff picks and helpful little notes. Staff walks around checking if people need more help. Well arranged. Can be tough to park since the parking is shared with several other busy businesses. I enjoyed shopping there.

It's still a great place and one of our favorite bookstores. Nicolas has such a great assortment of books in each section. The cookbook section is one of my all time favorites, very well rounded and includes so many different books. They've expanded their selection of journals, gifts, puzzles, kids' items, and local items. Their displays catch my eye every time we're in there. Whether you're a new reader, a well seasoned reader, or a gifter, it's easy to find an option. And should you get stuck, the amazing staff is always happy to help.

A fun happy place where you will find a book for any person - even for the non-readers in your life. Each section provides numerous options. The store is well laid out. There is an awesome children's section and a cozy space to curl up and explore a book or two. They also have a fabulous gift section with journals, games, kitchen items, bags, socks, and so much more. Stop in for a quick trip or to spend an afternoon exploring

Visited on 11/16/23 and this is an awesome book store. Love how they have everything and so clean and organized. Also love how they support Washtenaw Literacy. Stop in for all you read needs.

I love coming to Nicola's books. I also love that is right by the library. Off and I will check out a book and decide I want it in my personal library at home and I'm lucky I can pop right over to Nicola's books to pick up a copy for myself. They have a wonderful section for Michigan books both nature and Michigan authors. Their children's book area is magical with a huge selection of topics and ages. I also love that they have a used book section so you can pick up a few favorites for cheaper. There are always a couple treats at the checkout. You can earn points toward a discount on books each time you purchase. They also have a variety of Michigan car decals/stickers.

Wonderful local bookstore, filled with dreams and delight. My sister ordered a book from her home in California, for me to pick up here. The book was written by a local author, about growing up on a Michigan farm. This used to be the location of Nicola's books, in Westgate shopping center, near the Ann Arbor Public Library branch. So glad it's still a bookstore!

This book store has an excellent selection of books from adult to picture books as well as fun bookish and holiday gifts. The staff is so helpful and polite.

Schuler Books is by far my favourite Ann Arbor bookstore. I could spend hours there. They have a great selection of books and comfy chairs by the fire. Schuler is very cosy and very homey, and have a lot (maybe TOO many) stuffies. They also have a Ten Thousand Villages-esque section, too. Good amount of legos (for a book store), too. Kids love the giant, purple, wooden throne in the kid's section, I like that fun detail. Yeah, so, this is a great place to stop by for a gift, to read, for a book for your collection, a toy for your kid, and books. Lots of books.

This bookstore is a cornerstone establishment as far as shops in the area go. The employees are some of the kindest and most helpful people I have ever had the pleasure of working with.

If you’re looking for a bookstore in the area, this is the place to go, even just for the customer service alone. I will always support our local shops.

What a warm, inviting space to explore. It was hard to tell who enjoyed it more, my toddler or myself.

This bookstore is great. They are locally owned and highlight products from and about Michigan. This is a GREAT place to get cute gifts. They have fun, unique jigsaw puzzles (including ones for adults). I am thrilled to have found this place and can not recommend it highly enough. Support local businesses!
