Great place to stock up on dijournos, pop tarts, pizza beagles or really just about anything. I even bought toilet paper here once, they got it all and boy do they deliver! Safeway: it's a safe way to shop

I'm willing to drive a little further to this store instead of South Shore because the store on 5th Street is better maintained no obstructions.
Over all the prices are decent and it's a clean store I recommend this Safeway.

Best shopping place for groceries and produce. It's open 24/7. I like their seafood and tropical fruit collection. Best place to get organic items. Great customer service. It does have carpet cleaning machines and related products. Huge parking lot. Closer to banks, restaurants and gyms.

Although not the most frugal grocery store to shop at, it's always clean, organized, fresh veggies, nice and friendly staff, and always have what I'm looking for. And lots of meat and fish selections.

Great produce. Meat counter and deli is ok, nothing to rave about. Typical safeway, not on the higher end. Usually there's a bit of a wait for the lines. Ample parking.

The laDie name sharonda she a cashier she actually game my daughter a birthday dollar on her down time I was shock because my daughter and I b so loud and all the other staff talk and point but something about mra sharonda. Shall be Safeway cashier of the year because she keep me on point every step and she also keep my child in cheak at cheak out she not only dealing with customers cash cheak etc. But feelings emotions and every day life hacks

Hey shoppers, this is it. Quite possibly the most well run Safeway I have ever seen. Ps. I worked for Safeway for 28+ years. Their shelves are well stocked, the meat dept .has a great selection. Produce is incredible but that is not a great thing though. . Here's what I mean. I walked by the jumbo yellow onions, and they're perfect but Remember onions don't grow like that, they typically are large and small fat and thin so, The perfect onions are probably GMO. This location is extremely conveniently located away from my apartment. The staff is friendly, the vibe is relaxing, and the selection of goods is plentiful. The deli provides for nights when you are just too tired after a long shift to cook and there are easy to prepare, ready made options from a large group of different cultures.

It is still the reliable grocery where you can get quality, value, familiar organized shelves, this notwithstanding the store hours that vary accordingly lately. Shoppers maintain social distancing, wear masks, and the store does not get very crowded.

They have more stuff than the one local to me. I've seen that they have frozen marrow bones in the meat case. How cool is that?
The beer selection is good, I don't know about the wines, but a full aisle should help you pair with nearly any dish you could think of.
The bakery is big with lots of fresh choices, attached to the nearby deli, which has a surprising amount of variety. You can tell the neighborhood has a lot of different cultures from the amount of options in the deli case.
While the lines can be long, the service is good and your shopping can be finished in one stop.

Great Pharmacy for prescriptions and vaccine for painless injections.
Make sure you check out $5 day fried chicken.

Mark is hilarious. There are a lot of nice people at this store but no one in the parking lot can drive. Always fresh produce and lots of gluten free options. Nice olive bar. Good store, nice employees, lots of parking.

My visit was supposed to be a two item visit but turned into a marathon of the i need this too shopping spree. They had a pre-forth of July sale and I took advantage of this sale. Being a BIG FAN 🎉 of customer service; I received wonderful service, starting with a cleaned and ready to be filled cart. Walked into a clean and organised store. Then encountered Marcus my (beautiful Terrance Howard look-a-like) cashier who was very professional and helpful. Thank you. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Big, clean store. Lines are never too long for regular or self checkout. I prefer to drive to this one rather than go to the Pak N Save next to my house because of this. Plus, their gas is cheaper!

Awesome Safeway! They usually have everything that I am looking for. The employees are very accommodating and knowledgeable about locations of products in the store. Highly recommended!

One of two nicest, cleanest Safeways in Alameda. Maybe possibly within Alameda County. Whenever I can't find something in stock at one of the San Leandro ones, I always find it either here or at the South Shore location. Great selection of veggies, fruit, seafood, meat and a deli with some tasty items.

This is a recent addition to the Island city and is a Safeway flagship store. This location is huge. I tend to not shop grocery store with out knowing the layout because it takes me too long to shop. I mostly visit this store for their Pharmacy the staff at the Pharmacy is amazing!! They are fast and will go above and beyond to get your prescriptions and refills to you.

Pretty store nicely laid out but triple the mark up i go there when I absolutely have to. Shop groc outlet bargain market first...
