I have never had a more unprofessional interaction with Maynard Police Department until the other day. I was pulled over for my registration, being expired, when I was approached by one of the Sgts. After she had spoken with me about my said issue, she then proceeded to discuss my personal life choices. She began by asking if I knew the men that she pulled over the week prior. She then started to lecture me on my decisions about who I should be friends with and how I shouldn't have my son around " bad people". When in reality, my boyfriend and my roommates boyfriend are two of the sweetest men we have ever met. They care about my son. My roommate and I have watched them create a wonderful relationship with him. The Sgt then told me that "those kind of people" could lead me down a bad path and risk DCF giving full custody to my sons father, who is not present at all and wants nothing to do with him. This is all due to where the men are from and what they have been through. I felt personally very uncomfortable with her discussing my personal life with me when, in reality, it had nothing to do with the reason i was pulled over. It is one thing for someone to pull me over for something wrong with my car or if I was speeding, but to discuss my personal life is very uncalled for.
