Maynard Outdoor Store

Maynard Outdoor Store has become our go to local shop for outdoor clothing and gear. We had a fantastic experience with them in purchasing some kids’ ice skates, snow suits and jackets. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Would 100% recommend!

Solid selection of outdoor gear from a local store at reasonable.prices. Has that general store feel I like in an outdoor store - it makes it feel homey and more like family, I suppose. Staff are friendly and helpful without being overbearing. They carry good shoes, including a selection of EE widths, unusual in a local store (Heck, it's unusual in an online retailer these days!) Recommended.

I bought a pair of hiking boots here months ago, and had only used them a handful of times before the lacing d-rings popped out. At that point it had been more than a month and I lost my receipt, so I was hesitant to go back to the store. Today I decided to finally bring them in, and was pleasantly surprised that John exchanged them and gave me a new pair of hiking boots immediately! It ended up being a fluke with a defective pair. I really appreciate the customer service, thank you! Saved me just in time for hiking trips this weekend

They have a nice variety of in-stock, women’s hiking shoes. We were looking for shoes for work, for standing on concrete. I really appreciated their knowledge. We ended up with hiking shoes with extra cushioning. I wouldn’t have thought of this.

Very convenient for almost all sporting needs. The place has been a fixture of the town for a very long time, and has an old-school feeling. The interior has not been updated, but that's perfectly fine. The staff are extremely helpful and the prices are competitive.

The store carries a wide variety of supplies including camping and sports equipment, shoes, boots, jeans, exercise clothing and outdoor wear. They carry very high quality clothing brands similar to larger chains and department stores, but without the crowds and great service. I can walk there, which makes it extra convenient.

Quintessential main Street American shop, wonderful staff that will bend over backwards for you, loaded with top quality product and that Americana feel most of us long for.
The outdoor store is a dying breed, I hope they survive, because just as online and super centers drain us of our character, places like the outdoor store define us and shows our American persistence is still there, albeit hidden in the shadows of our dying main streets.

This store is a gem of our community. They'll go above and beyond to help you with your needs with their vast selection and they'll get you any product quickly if they don't have it on hand.
They're always my first and last stop for boots and outdoor clothing and gear.

The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The prices are fantastic. Often cheaper than bigger stores or even online. They do have some pricey stuff, but it is quality, never cheap. They pack a ton into their small shoe area- I've never been disappointed there. Great store!

Outdoor store has been around for ever, I've been shopping there for years!! They have a great staff & good location. Warm/cold weather clothing & shoes (head to toe) They carry Patriots, Bruins, Red Sox & Celtics apparel. Some sporting goods, just a Great place to shop!

I love going to the Outdoor Store. It has sports and informal wear for men, women, and children. Additionally, it has some sports and camping equipment, and shoes. It is a no frill place with floor space crowded with racks. The staff can be helpful, but you need to ask for help. Otherwise, they generally leave you alone to browse and try things on. Prices are reasonable. For those who enjoy the traditional department store like Macy's, the Outdoor Store may not be to your liking, but it is perfect for me especially since I did like malls.

There is on the street parking as well as a parking lot behind these Main Street stores.

Incredible service. Needed new hiking boots. Salesperson quickly showed me 3 that met my needs. He found my size and allowed me to take my time choosing. Just wonderful.

Great place! I was looking for a certain pair of Merrell hiking boots that none of the big stores had in stock. They all showed them online. I called up the Outdoor Store, and they knew right away which boot I wanted. He asked me my size to make sure they had it. They were cheaper than everyone as well.
They had a very impressive selection of Merrells. I will DEFINITELY be going back there for my next pair.

My favorite store to buy North Face and Patagonia. They also have great shoes from brands like ASICS and Brooks. I love supporting small businesses like this one, especially when they face such tough competition from online megastores.

Very valuable asset to the local communities- quality products at fair prices - they pretty much have something for everybody- just hoping they have laces for my cross country skiing shoes 🤞🏻

I've been coming here since I was a kid, and continue to shop here whenever I need something they carry. The Outdoor Store has a huge selection of great brands (Patagonia, Pendleton, Merrell, Smartwool, etc) at competitive prices. The people who work here are really knowledgeable and will steer you in the right direction. Shop local, check out the Maynard Outdoor Store!

I came here to buy Good To-Go backpacking meals as I no longer live near REI. They have a nice selection of other stuff and the prices seem reasonable and maybe even inexpensive. If you have tunnel vision, you may attempt to enter either of the 2 separate locked doors on the northern storefront; but there is another entrance up the street to the left.

Went in for cold weather clothing and found that they had a huge selection of snow pants, insulated underware, gloves and hats. They had a complete mix of sizes too. I was very impressed with the fact that they had a lot of variety and a full assortment of sizes.
