The food was fantastic. We got the octopus as an appetizer; I've never eaten octopus so soft and tender. We asked the server about it and he said the chef actually massages the octopus for thirty minutes every morning. The filet mignon was amazing, too. I asked for medium and it came out very evenly cooked and just the right amount of pink in the middle. Our waiter Spencer was the best part of the meal, though. He was extremely attentive and engaging. He did a great job taking care of us on Valentine's Day. Even if food at a restaurant is perfect, a bad waiter can ruin the whole meal, you know? At Toscana, the food and the service were the best I've had in Portsmouth. Highly rated. Took a star off the atmosphere because the table was a little too small and the space was a little cramped.

The ultimate in personal service, world class cuisine, and most importantly engaged friendly people. Toscana and their staff from Michael, to Eric, and to everyone there, they take time to listen to what it is the patron warrants. The whole team comes together and creates not only a world-class meal, but a dining memory. This is the place to go.

Outdoor seating was a great choice for lunch. Our server was friendly and helpful. My beet salad was fantastic! The lobster roll was a little wet and alot of celery. Cocktails were great! Good variety of menu items and gluten fee choices, too.

Really enjoyed this place. We had Thanksgiving dinner there, and while they had a Thanksgiving special (turkey, stuffing, etc.) they also served the regular menu. I ordered the half-chicken (pictured), and it turned out to be a stupendous amount of food. Daughter got the bolognese, which ultimately defeated her (but she enjoyed), while the two Thanksgiving specials were well-enjoyed. Interesting wine list. Loved the vibe, with exposed brick, high ceilings, good music, and intact bank vault doors.

Excellent meal on Christmas Eve. Eric was fantastic and was spot on during service even though it was crazy busy. Had the fried mozzarella with pesto trio, mixed grill perfectly cooked, and the cannoli trio. Will definitely come again!

After our first day of checking out waterfront restaurants, we decided to stop in to Toscana. We now wish we had more time in Portsmouth because there were so many outstanding choices on the menu. But the highlight of the evening was watching Andrew, the bartender, creating mind blowing crafted cocktails! We may have to return again today just to sample more of his creations! The food was exceptional and the chocolate mousse bomb dessert was one of the most delicious desserts I have ever tasted. The interior is also gorgeous and very bright- a much better choice than the waterfront restaurants.

We've been to this location before when it was a different restaurant. They really revamped it to make it their own but kept the old bank building charm. It's beautifully decorated. Our server was super nice, knowledgeable and attentive. We each got a drink off their speciality menu that were absolutely delicious! I wish I could remember the names but mine was a blueberry and prosecco drink and my husband's was similar to a blood orange Mai Tai. Their fresh bread was soooo good. For dinner I got the lobster gnocchi in a brown butter sauce. It was fantastic. It is a small dish but it worked put perfectly as we didn't want to leave with leftovers (leaving town right after the meal). My husband had a waygu steak with a side of Mac and cheese (freshly made pasta). I wish we lived closer cuz we'd definitely be back sooner than our next trip north!

In town for a few nights so we decided to check this restaurant out because it was in an old bank. The atmosphere was really nice and the staff was great. The bread was delicious and the appetizer was to die for. I had the lobster and the scallops and it was the perfect match. The lobster is stuffed and then they melt butter over it to kick it up a little. Great place to dine for dinner and drinks.

Omg 😲 not only is this an incredible restaurant for Portsmouth NH, but it would not be left out in New York or Los Angeles. Amazing food, service, and drink menu 😋

We visited tonight for the first night of our honeymoon trip. We were each given a free glass of champaign! That was a great added personal touch. The food was phenomenal & the service was outstanding. We tried the calamari starter, swordfish entrée and lobster gnocchi. There wasn't one thing we could even begin to complain about. The portion sizes were big and I ended up bringing gnocchi home. We would visit again!

We also had a long conversation with a staff member, Nick, after dinner. He told us of a sister restaurant in Newburyport, as we are heading that way. We plan on stopping in on his recommendation.

As one might suspect, this “chophouse “ is lively! It’s not a romantic place to eat, but it’s a lot of fun. The food was excellent. Ordered the wagyu flat iron beef and the barrel cut filet mignon. Both done to perfection. It was simply outstanding! The caesar salad was somewhat disappointing because it was overdressed and not traditional in flavor, but it was easy to forget about that slight. The bread was delicious!

Food is always perfect, and love the atmosphere. Service is quick, though they still get quite busy here.. A bit on the expensive side, but portions are big enough to share.

Incredible - amazing space, no detailed unattended to, service was on point, very festive atmosphere, beautiful decor. Specialty drinks are a must try, we had Blood Orange margarita and pear with vodka (forgot names). Wine selection is endless. On to the food: it’s impossible to find a steak outside of Boston this good. I’m always searching, trust me. I got the sirloin mid-rare with bernaise sauce. My wife had the haddock - I tried it and gave her a wide-eye look. It was amazing. All components sang. It was a home run. The bread can’t go unmentioned - insanely good. We had the buratta appetizer. Very good, if any know it was a little too firm on bottom. That’s looking for issues. Sides we had were marscapone mashed and creamed spinach. Both were quality choices. Spinach could have been seasoned a little more (maybe nutmeg). All in all it was a phenomenal experience and we will be back. Kudos to the chef! All my pics did not come out but here are a few. Try it.

Wonderful experience, Andrew the bartender was absolutely fantastic. Let us try new summer drink menu items, explained them, showed us how they were made and turned a normal meal into an excellent memory.

Will be back!

Ordered waigu steak and lobster tail. Steak was cooked perfectly and was probably on of the most delicious steaks I've ever had. Excellent service, Ed was top notch. Live music was a huge draw for me. Cheesecake for dessert was amazing.

Overall an excellent experience. You won't go wrong.

Amazing Valentine's day dinner, can't wait to come here in person! I gotta admit, I didn't have the highest of hopes for takeout, but this dinner held up amazingly well and blew my mind! The octopus appetizer was by far my favorite, it was so tender and not rubbery at all, with a delicious sauce. The scallops were also incredible, so tasty and delicate, with a great side of farro and cauliflower. My husband greatly enjoyed his bolognese which was rich, flavorful, and a terrific portion. The tiramisu was so good! Definitely don't skip out of dessert here. A nice touch was the hefty portion of various tasty breads this came with, complimentary. The inside looked super packed when I came to pick up my order, but I can't wait to come back in person once outdoor dining opens up again!

We had a great dinner at Tuscan Chophouse. Our server Alder was particularly outstanding and knowledgeable. I would absolutely ask to be in his section again.
Food was delicious, we particularly enjoyed the calamari and fried mozzarella appetizers. The filet was cooked perfectly but the waygu flat iron was so flavorful and delicious (I stole many bites from my husband’s plate).
We skipped desserts and had another round of cocktails, but I’ve had the Tuscan affogatos before and it is my favorite dessert!!!

Only four stars on the food score because they ran out of the ceviche of the day, salmon.
Loves the atmosphere and the bar. Sat at the bar while our table was being prepped.
Very busy place, 7:45pm was the earliest reservation I could get and it was a frigid February night.
We ordered the short ribs and the seafood fra diavolo. Both were very good. Nice bread with oil.
We also had the carrot cake, it was a trade off for no ceviche.
