Pickwick's at the Banke

I visited this gift shop during my trip to Portsmouth while visiting the Strawbery Banke Museum. This is a fun store if you want to get gifts for family and friends, or a treat for yourself. My favorite items were the cats filled with balsam fir needles. Some prices are a little high. A less expensive gift shop is located in the visitor center of the Strawbery Banke Museum.

This is a great shop, like an old school New England style general store. You can get great gifts and old fashioned household supplies here.

Completely different from the store I visited as a kid! I was surprised to see 🙈 the store open because there was a sign out front saying they closed 🔒 at 4:30pm. I think 🤔 they were selling admission 🎟 tickets to the ice rink.
The location has changed. They were located where the Puddle Dock Restaurant is now. I think 🤔 the older store was one level. They use to sell actual penny candy 🍬 and I would ride my 🚲 bike there often, since pennies were easy to come by. They sold low cost merchandise as well. It was popular with my friends for the same reasons.
The new store is a little smaller, has two levels, more higher prices, but, local merchandise and the staff dresses in period costumes. Friendly service. I liked the Christmas 🎄 decorations. I found a toy 🪀 for my son.
