How can anyone possibly leave a bad review on a barber shop? Barbers always have mirrors and always show you the end result when they are finished, prior to you leaving. If you don't like it, tell them. Don't be a Karen and cry online because you didn't have the balls to speak up in person. OMG .. so hilarious reading some of these poor reviews. "They didn't wash my husband's hair" ... says one. Did your husband ask to have his hair washed? I've never had my hair washed at a barber shop in 60 years, and I've been to a few. If I wanted my hair washed prior to or after a hair cut I'd go to a beauty salon with the rest of the people who do that sort if thing when they are getting their hair done. Men don't get their hair "done" ... it's a Barber Shop... they get their hair cut. I've never been to The Clip Joint, but kudos to them for pampering to all these Karens and offering refunds. The perfect sign that this is a reputable establishment that stands behind their team's work!!!

Every four weeks, I visit her for a men's cut and she always exceeds my expectations; her attention to detail is unparalleled. She’s super friendly, always greets me with a warm smile, and engages in conversation throughout the haircut. We often chat about our favorite Netflix or Hulu shows, which makes the experience all the more enjoyable. If you're looking for a top-notch haircut and an enjoyable experience, look no further than Sandy! Added bonus-you’re able to schedule your appointment online and she has early morning time slots which lets me get in before starting my workday.

This place is spectacular. Each barber is an independent — so the key here is to try several different people until you find the one you like. My absolute favorite is Colleen. She is the best stylist I’ve had in years. She actually LISTENS and gives you the cut you want. Plus, she is so nice it’s a joy to sit I her chair.

A well established barbershop that has been in the community for almost forty years. It is a hospitable establishment with considerate hair stylists. Not only will you get a great cut but you will certainly feel welcomed and accepted. To top it off the price is very fair for a great cut.

These ladies are the greatest. I take my son there to get his haircut as well as my own. Please support this quintessential local business because they are well worth it. Don't forget, they are now located at 10 Ladd Avenue, in Portsmouth-- smaller diggs but same great ladies and the best haircuts anywhere!

Careful and attentive service. I was the first appointment for the day and had a great time talking with the barber while she prepped her station and cut my hair. Quality service is hard to find and I would 10/10 go back for another cut there!

10/10 would recommend. Absolutely zero complaints I have. All the Covid-19 social distancing steps they took (temperature, limited capacity, masks, etc) made me feel very safe. Colleen (who cut my hair) was very nice and did a great job.

I have never gotten a bad haircut there. Each person is independent so your haircut may differ based on who cuts your hair. Try a few times to find out who gives you the best cut for you. Note: they are open late on Wednesdays.

My boys and my husband have been going here for a couple of years now. These ladies do a fantastic job with men's hair. They just seem to understand what works and what doesn't for hair type, and they take into consideration the unique shape of your noggin. :D

Very professional. I've been getting clipper fades at least once a week for the last 20 years. Stopped in here while on a weekend trip and was impressed. These ladies know what they're doing. Cash only.

Great barbers that happen to be great people! Their online booking system is easy to use, many of them now take credit cards or Venmo.

Friendly barbering place that's been around for generations. Every male member of my extended family gets his haircut here. It's not as cheap as some (though it isn't exactly expensive), but it's free of pretentious nonsense and all the hair cutters do a good job. Cash only, but there's an ATM on the premises.

Very good service and knowledge staff. I told her what I was looking for and she made suggestions and I came out with a better haircut than I was looking for.
