My dog broke his leg on Sunday afternoon. Dr. Nate met us at the clinic and had him sedated and comfortable very quickly. We were very lucky to be able to get into surgery the next day. Everyone there has been patient with the stress that an event like this brings. Steamboat Vet is our regular clinic as well and I would never consider going anywhere else.

I couldn’t get ahold of my primary vet, I called Steamboat Animal Hospital during the weekend and left a message on the Emergency line. Within minutes Dr. Nate called me back and didn’t hesitate to tell us to bring our girl in. Our 14 year old companion, Molly, passed at home. We were able to bring her to Dr. Nate immediately after to have her cremated. The level of compassion and empathy Dr. Nate and his assistant had was unmeasurable. We’re so grateful that he was available and that someone so kind and genuine like him exists in this world. I highly recommend Steamboat Animal Hospital, your pets will be in great care. I came in for my cat’s appointment a little early and I didn’t have to wait much at all. The veterinarian and her assistant trimmed the nails of my cat very fast.

Superb and knowledgeable care, and caring, always. When our anxious dog wouldn't go into the office, Dr. M just came to our van to examine him. Luke-dog was very happy with that.

Dr. Nate has been my veterinarian since Jack was born, and he is almost 14 now. He has an obvious passion for what he does and definitely cares about pets and people. And he's very knowledgeable. Even after moving away from Steamboat, I come back to Steamboat Veterinary Hospital to see him if Jack needs care.

Dr Stiff listens to your concerns, and does a very thorough examination of the animal before making any decisions and respects yours as well. I’m so happy I found them, and will continue going there. Dr. Gotchey and the technicians at Steamboat Vet are amazing, kind, friendly, and responsive. They whisked Snickers in without hesitation and immediately tended to his situation, spending hours trying to diagnose the problem and relieve his discomfort. Dr. Gotchey was conservative in his approach trying all other methods without rushing into surgery. And in the end, Snickers didn’t require surgery. Gotchey and his team were able to alleviate the problem with less intrusive and less expensive methods while also prolonging my dog’s life. Thank you Steamboat Vet.

My Becky ended up getting parvo from a dog visiting us during the holidays. This place took such good care of my girl,especially Lee! I called around to other places that just wasn’t so friendly. He saved my girl and actually cared about her. I can never thank him enough! I will forever be thankful for him and this vet hospital!

We’ve been going to Steamboat Vet for years, and it’s the best experience I’ve ever had with a veterinary office. Reception and vet techs are always over the top kind. We regularly see Dr. Nate who is the best, but have seen others as well with much approval. Every vet had been caring, genuine, knowledgeable, and very thorough without making you feel like your paying for unnecessary stuff. Wouldn’t recommend any other vet over these guys if you’re passing through or looking for a permanent vet.

Our pug experienced an extremely painful broken claw while we were camping near Steamboat for our first visit to the area. Dr. Nate and team fit us in first thing in the morning on a Monday with zero wait even though we are not patients and had just showed up as a hopeful walk-in. He and his team treated our pug immediately and also trimmed his other nails preventively to make sure he didn't experience any other claw injuries during our trip. We were in and out in half an hour, and our dog was good as new immediately after they removed the damaged claw. We were also pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive this last-minute emergency visit was. What a great vet. I'm so happy to know we have them as a resource for future visits. Thank you, Dr. Nate!

Captain Jack the black cat had a very serious leg injury that resulted in necessary amputation today, and I would have been an absolute mess had it not been for the kindness and care and support of everyone there. Our experience over more than 15 years with the Steamboat Vet Hospital goes unmatched. I have had to lay down a cat and a dog and the Vet understood the sadness and was very thoughtful. More recently we have brought another cat and another puppy to Dr. Gotchey. He has been so helpful and reassuring and easy to talk to. Yesterday, we had a dog emergency and Dr. Meyring was on call and listened to my message and I was able to send him pictures and he gave us recommendations. All dogs are happy, thanks to his assistance. Thank you all for your work.
