A true gastropub experience. Every item ordered at this restaurant was absolutely delicious. You cannot go wrong here. Our party had zero complaints about this experience and look forward to dining in again.

Cool tavern setting. Great service at the bar. The food was delicious and it’s not your average bar food. Try the pimento and cheese and get the BLT. They’re delicious. Try a smoked old fashion for me will ya? Great bourbon selection. I’ll be back.

We went out for dinner at Carl's Sunday evening for my bachelorette party. It was a little busy so getting all of our drinks and orders taken took a little while. Our waitress was friendly and we didn't have a deadline so we were okay with waiting. The cocktails were delicious--I had a lemon drop.

We ordered one of the appetizers and it only arrived a few minutes before our dinner. So we wished that had been planned a little better!

Most of us had burgers of some kind and the fries were good! We also saw a few massive sundaes being delivered to tables that looked SOOO good. If we had had room for dessert that would have been first on my list.

Now this is a tavern! Good food, good service, and a drink menu that makes most "taverns" look bad. I've frequented the place twice now. Once having the grilled cheese with tomato bisque. The other time getting the Sunday special chicken pot pie. Staff is friendly and the patio is comfortable.

Best Happy Hour in steamboat. Half priced wings and $6 mules. Would highly recommend this place. The wings we’re amazing. This location also has a lot of hard to find bourbons like Pappy, Stagg, etc. If you’re ever in steamboat definitely go to Carl’s

Had an outstanding experience at Carl's Tavern today. The food, service, and decor of the restaurant were all fantastic. I highly recommend it here if you're looking for a nice pub with good food.

I’ve been coming to Carl’s Tavern for years! It’s that casual sports bar, neighborhood restaurant that has the best bar food but elevated. I enjoy their deviled eggs but the dry rub wings are the best I’ve ever had. The rub is a secret. Dont ask. They won’t tell! The burgers are all delicious. I’ve had the meat loaf. Not as delicious as the other sandwiches. The salads are strangely delicious. The service is excellent. The drinks are top notch. Tons of great bourbons. Ask for Carl the manager. He used to be a server and once picked us up in his sedan during Covid when we called the restaurant and needed a ride. We always stop by looking for him. Carls Tavern is a special place in Steamboat Springs!

We are on vacation, and as a party of 8 Texans, nothing short of magical if we even have a decent server trying to serve us. However, we had the sweetest gal named Kyle, and she absolutely made our trip with her charisma, smile, and wickedly good intuitive skills. We never asked for anything. All she did was provide before we could even register what we needed or lacked. If you come here, which we highly recommend, please ask for Kyle!!

The best chicken and mashed potatoes I have ever had. My crew had burgers and the BLT. They loved it! Fries were delicious. The whiskey and bourbon menu is extensive. Service was perfect.

So pictures taken after half the food was gone lol. But honestly this place exceeded all my expectations!!! Food came out super fresh, super fast, staff was handing business in that kitchen. Everything was cooked perfect. I usually always have something I feel could have been better but that was not the case this time. We seated ourselves at the bar are server was Russell! What a stand up guy! Couldn't be happier!!! Thanks to all the staff for making a great time.

If you are in Steamboat, Carl’s is thee place to come to for a nice night out of food and drinks. Also —- if you happen to like (in my case love) bourbon — this is the ONLY place to come to. Anything you’ve ever wanted to try Carl’s has. All of the Pappy’s, all of the EH Taylor’s, all of the Wellers, a lot of Knob Creek, Elijah Craig, Larceny, and even Jack Daniel’s barrel proofs, etc. The house old fashioned was also perhaps the best I’ve ever had. And if you happen to be a fan of the Dead and similar music (what I refer to as good music ; ), you will be very pleasantly surprised. Our server Jake also did an excellent job. There was no sitting at the table with empty drink glasses for 20 minutes wondering where he was. The management at this place is ON IT, and if you know what I mean, you know what I mean👍🏼.

The burger and fries were amazing (the seasoning salt on the fries makes all the difference). The salad was very fresh and we'll prepared. The cornbread was a little too sweet for us, but to each their own. Out waiter was fast and friendly, despite the restaurant being pretty busy. Good happy hour specials as well.

Great happy hour. We stopped in on Saturday and bartenders Josh and Tanner were awesome! From Tequila, Gluten Free Beer, Miller Lite, IPA's, Stouts, Craft Cocktails and Whiskey Mules they found a favorite for us all. We enjoyed the drinks and appetizers so much we stopped back by late Saturday night for dinner. Only disappointment on our trip was we didn't make it back in for another round of drinks before we left town.

Just want to give Russell a big shout out. He was so helpful after a bad experience at another spot in town. Everyone was in a good mood and super helpful. We felt like family and had a great time. The food was on point. Deviled eggs and the business! Highly recommended and we will be back.

Started with the Dry rub wings, they were seasoned perfectly with great meat on the bones. Next I tried one of their burgers which was ordered medium rare and cooked to absolute perfection. The burgers are made of wagyu beef which adds a great flavor and bite to the burger which you wont find anywhere else in Steamboat. My 100% recommendation when looking for a great restaurant style burger.

Came here for happy hour and stuck around for the whiskey. Solid tavern atmosphere with a great selection of Old Fashions and whiskey flights. The happy hour prices were great as far as beer, quick cocktails, and appetizers. The deviled eggs were great. Angela, the bartender, was informative and nice. Gave us some additional local recommendations to look into. Highly recommend for a few drinks and something to eat.

Couldn't say enough nice things about this place. Probably the best burgers we've ever had. Great service and good food. They have an extensive drink menu and the drinks were well made. Service was slow at time but they were absolutely swamped. I'd recommend making a reservation on the weekends.

Food and drinks were delicious. We had corn bread for an appetizer. I had the Zirkel Burger and my wife had the Alpine Buffalo Meatloaf. Both dishes were amazing. I liked the seasoning on the fries. A little pricey, but good selection and great service!

Hayden, Tanner and Josh are the best bartenders in the Boat! So friendly and engaging while you’re sitting at the bar. Not to mention how nice all the servers, managers and hostesses are. Carls is Steamboats best bar for watching sports and having a beer or cocktail and sometimes meeting new friends!

Couldn’t be happier with the recommendation from Cole over at truffle pig! Excellent bourbon selection. Best in the state!
