What a cool concept…. Grill your own steak!! In town for family vacation. Took my mom here for her birthday. Steaks and sides were delicious! We tried the Buffalo ribeye - sooooo good!! I put on our reservation that it was my moms birthday and they surprised her with a “giant baked potato” which was actually frozen ice cream desert filled in cocoa powder and topped with whip cream and almonds - A+ presentation. Beautiful facility. Personable staff. Great food. Great location. Great espresso martini. Definitely give it 👍🏻👍🏻

Awesome experience here as my first time! I just stumbled upon this location and it was worth the risk. They offer great cuts of meat and a unique experience that allows you to cook your own meat. Check it out if you’re in Steamboat Springs.

So we didn't know when we made reservations for this place that it was a ' Cook your own steaks' kind of place. At first I was like' oh man, I'm not sure if I want to do this', but it turned out to be a fun and delicious evening. The ambiance is very old school steakhouse the vibe was fun and energetic. We went down to the meat case, I guess you'd call it, and the gentleman there was very knowledgeable and helpful. He recommended that I try the Colorado bison steak which my wife and I did and my son got the New York strip. He also told us exactly how long he thought we should cook them on each side based on our temperature preference and he was spot on. One of the more delicious steaks that I've ever had! Add to that the unending salad bowl and tasty side dishes and it was a delicious and fun event.

Absolutely fantastic all the way around.

Started by being seated in a booth. Unfortunately, the booths are quite narrow. I’d say anyone under 180 lbs is probably fine. We asked our waitress if there was any way we could get a different seat and she worked with the host to move us to a table upstairs which was perfect.

Zach was our waiter and was phenomenal. Literally the best service I’ve experienced in years. Very professional, very knowledgeable and a true hustler on the floor. He managed quite a few tables incredibly well.

As for the food, my brother and I had the stuffed mushrooms as a starter which weren’t anything like I expected… they were so much better! Mushrooms in a creamy sauce with a layer of baked on cheese. So good!

Even the salad was great with the romaine lettuce, cucumbers, croutons, julienned carrots and julienned radishes with dressing on the side.

Next, we got our ticket to go select a steak. The steaks were all in a case and you could easily see the never-frozen quality. I did a huge NY Prime Strip that was easily 2” thick and he had the smaller strip steak. We were showed the best parts of the grill for high and medium heat and could prepare it exactly how we wanted. They even showed suggested cooking times. Those were THE BEST STEAKS we may have ever had!

Our side that we chose to split was the garlic mashed potatoes. Again, just perfect. Nice and hot and seasoned great.

Despite both of us being incredibly full, we ordered a bunch of deserts to go. We haven’t touched those yet but they look great.

Thank you so much for a wonderful experience and excellent service.

Incredible service, got seated immediately, the manager sort of rushed us but the server corrected him and assured us to take our time and enjoy. The grill your own steak was a unique concept but they tell you exactly how to grill it to perfection.

The buffalo steak was delicious. Creamed spinach was amazing. Pork belly, delicious, don’t leave without a desert potato!

Great steakhouse! You actually cook the steak yourself here. Guy at the meat counter was very helpful telling us how long we should cook the steak. Twice baked potato and Brussels sprouts was also delicious. Location also gives you a salad which was decent.

First time trying out the grill-your-own steakhouse and we really like it!

The meat are super fresh and priced fairly. You choose your protein and it comes with limitless salad and Texas toast. We ordered the Colorado buffalo steak and a beef patty. The staff will guide you through the grilling process and tips. It's nothing fancy like a regular steakhouse since the meat aren't marinated and you do need to add your own seasoning. We also ordered the bone marrow appetizer. It's not seasoned too balanced but it's okay given the price. For sides, I recommend the brussel sprouts (they roast it for you). They also do happy hours 4-6pm with discounted appetizers and drinks.

Big shoot out to our server Spencer who is super attentive and helpful. I give it 5 stars mainly because of the service and I'd come again.

Not your typical steakhouse! Order your drink; get a house salad; pick your meat with the butcher; then cook it YOURSELF on the grill (with recommendations from the staff). Awesome dining experience! 11/10 would recommend!

The food was full of fresh vegetables, fruit flavor cocktails, and freshly cut meats. While my daughter dove into her tender steamy chicken fingers and her average size fries with a touch of crispy, I grilled a nice size burger and Buffalo steak on the grill 4 and a half minutes each side as instructed by the Butcher for medium cooked meat. My steak was thick so I added a minute each side for a perfectly cooked juicy fresh hot off the grill dinner! Peaceful fun atmosphere. Great people, from waiters to the Manager courteously seeking our well-being. Excellent experience!!!

My husband and I made reservations for a nice meal while we were in Steamboat. We were seated at the bar which was disappointing. The bartender was helpful explaining how to order and where to cook our steaks. The meat was fantastic! The sides were ok.

Neat steakhouse! I know people may think it is weird to have to cook your own steak but they have great food and it's a fun experience. Everything is a la carte (so it can get very pricey). The salad was the only thing that was not a la carte. It was brought to the table in one bowl and each person picked their own salad dressing to pour over. The butcher's counter has a nice array of cuts and meats to choose from. We tried the Waygu, filet, and a couple of the seasoned cuts. The brussel sprouts were delish and so were the truffle fries. The bone marrow appetizer is interestingly delicious especially on the bread you can make at the grill! The grill area has just about everything you need to cook up your steak just right (seasoning and butter). The servers do their best to guide you or give you tips for grilling your steak so it is helpful. Don't forget to try and toast some bread while at the grill. I would definitely come back here again.

We popped in for happy hour and were pleasantly surprised! Its a lovely rustic restaurant with friendly wait staff. We both ordered a burger and had no idea that WE would be doing the grilling..lol How unique and clever. No longer can you say it was cooked wrong, YOU cooked it! DE-licious burgers too. We will definitely be back. I ordered the chocolate mint Martinez, but for me, it was too much mint, and not enough chocolate. Next time I'll stick with fruity ones. Great place!

Ok, this was an awesome experience. I generally go out to eat so I can avoid cooking, however, at 8th Steet you get to cook your own steak on their awesomely seasoned grill. They have cooking guidelines posted with plenty of spices available for the steaks. Our waitress, was absolutely amazing and I always appreciate outstanding customer service. Speaking of service, I grilled my steak perfectly Medium rare. Side note, creamed
Spinach was stellar! Also, their steaks are advertised as at least grass fed, but unfortunately grain finished for 90 days. Better than grain fed for longer, but I would prefer grass finished. At any rate, a great atmosphere, great food, awesome service and an amazing overall experience. Come support your local businesses!

On boy, best crab cakes I've ever had. Pick and cook your own steak. They say the are the only ones serving Colorado Buffalo steaks which are really good. And finally their creme brulee is one of the best. Sides are very well done, and promotions are huge. The only thing is probably don't go for the king crab legs. Not really their cup of tea. A must try if you're in Steamboat!

We had our rehearsal dinner at 8th Street Steakhouse and it was perfect! Working with Management before the evening was super easy. Great communication and really helped craft the perfect menu for the night. Staff was attentive and friendly and the food was great! Our guests loved cooking their own steaks. Would definitely recommend.
