What an excellent little piece of history. I thought all the signs on the way to steamboat were cute, and I couldn't wait to stop in there. Of course, I got an awesome cowboy hat and a nice pair of cowboy jeans. Their selection was great and the people working were attentive polite and friendly. I can't wait to go back.

Great experience during our visit. Learned that the signs seen on the way to steamboat are protected and are historical. Purchased a great quality Justin hat with Emma who was exceptional. We returned the next to get my brother's hat reshaped and cleaned which they did at no cost, a tip is great way to say thanks! Thanks emma!

F M Light & Sons is a great western clothing store in Colorado. You see similar stores more often in Wyoming, so finding a well-stocked store in Colorado is great.

F M Light & sons is like the old fashion Western Wear store like the one back home. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
I was looking for something, they showed it to me 1 with the FM Light logo for more money the exact same one with out the logo for about $4.00 less The sales person did not try to up sell me and I got the one with the logo

This is a really unique shop in downtown Steamboat with an assortment of souvenirs such as mugs, shirts, hats, as well as nice leather goods and cowboy boots. Super cute taxidermy squirrels doing different activities. The girl working at the counter was friendly and helpful!

Respect almost 2 hours in this store. Over 100 years of family ownership and experience in Western Wear. I didn't leave empty-handed either. I left with a new pair of Ariat Boots. If my budget had been a bit bigger, I would have left with a new Stetson, too. But alas, it was just the boots. For now. I'll be back. Besides the Stetson, they had a rack of Western Shirts I was eyeing as well. Oh... I'll be back.

I enjoyed this shop very much. The products they carry are right up my alley. Western gear, good boot selection, belts, toys, and everything I'd hope to get there. Great customer service, easy to access, and the store was clean too!

You can not count the number of boots for sale! Custom fit of real cowboy and cowgirl hats. Sweet variety of bright and interesting western-themed clothing for men, women, and kids. A few clever trinkets for sale. Warm blankets, leather belts and purses. In the back, an awesome collection of old time toys, none of which require batteries. Look up western toys from 1950s and 60s.

Emma is the boss at shaping cowboy hats! Spent an hour with two of mine! She is the best!!

Fantastic cowboy western outfitter store in one of the most beautiful towns I’ve ever visited. I bought my first cowboy hat at this location, and let me tell you, it was hard considering the massive selection they have. There’s a custom hat booth towards the back corner on the left as you enter the store. Then the wall goes all the way down to the other end showcasing an impressive collection of other cowboy hats and boots to pick from. The prices are great as well, not too expensive when you compare their prices to a place like Cavendar’s Boot City. They also have touristy gifts and items as well along with a display case offering knives, belt buckles and other leather goods. This place is definitely worth stopping by if you’ve never been before.

I had a wonderful experience at FM Light. I haven’t been in for years but I stopped by and Shawn was fantastic! She spent the time to fit me for the right size and style hat and even managed to find me multiple options of women’s size 11 boots! I’ll definitely be back

Followed the signs all across Colorado and we felt like we just HAD to stop! The store was INCREDIBLE! We need one in New Jersey! I ended up finding the cutest child’s belt with a belt buckle. The belt buckle has a revolver on it and the barrel moves! I bought this for my grandson who turned 1 this week! Yesterday was the party and it turned out to be a huge hit! My son said it was the best gift my grandson got. Now I want to give my grandson a belt buckle every year until his 18th birthday but FM Light is in Colorado. I guess I’ll have to make an annual pilgrimage! Super interesting store! You will not be disappointed!
