Double Z Bar & BBQ

I was in town for work and asked a local guy to recommend a place that wasn’t a chain. He suggested double Z. We went down with 3 guys ready to eat. We all had a full rack St. Louis style with the Cajun dry rub. Sides were great, ribs meaty tender a juicy. I was able to finish the full rack. But it was a challenge. French fries very good. I would recommend this hole in the wall to anyone traveling through steamboat Springs. Truly a must stop.

We had lunch out on the patio. We each had a delicious meal. Staff was great!!

This is my families favorite restaurant in Steamboat to go to. We have to come here multiple times every time we vacation in the Springs. The food, drinks, and staff have always been excellent! The front ratio is an enjoyable place to sit during the summer, it's well shaded and the street is quiet and there's a view of the river and the adjoining park. When your done eating it's nice to just take a walk down the path along the river. Looking forward to our next visit!

Had the best ribs of my life here. The service is excellent and the portions are amazing. My buddy got the pork sandwich and let me try it and it was equally as amazing. After 2 beers, a full rack of ribs, and a pork sandwich our total came to just over 40 bucks. This place is an amazing deal. Also try and sit outside, the view over the river is awesome and the sound of the rushing water is relaxing.

My only regret is that I don't live closer and can't come here more frequently.

The owner Matt is so nice and showed us the absolute best time. All of the staff is amazing. I felt like I was with family. I absolutely love this place and would go back to Steam Boat just for the Double Z. Try Matt’s Bloody Marys, you will not be sorry!

We had Double Z Delivery last night and it was fantastic! It was delivered quickly while still piping hot and was cooked perfectly. This has been one of my favorite restaurants in Steamboat for over twenty years and they are still doing it right!

Alright I see all these people saying that the service is terrible here. If you're going to a home in the wall classic like the Double Z and expecting a fine dining experience that of Olive Garden then you're not going to be a happy camper. I was born and raised in Steamboat and the this place has never disappointed me. I've seen the staff turn over throughout the years and it seems to me a good bit of them are college kids looking for something close to campus but I may be wrong. Anyways about the food, it's amazing. It's not health food and it's got some personality to it so don't expect a fancy plate with cute little garnishes. It's the hamburger in a basket with fries that freaking delicious kind of food. And I must say the main reason I go here every time I return to Steamboat to visit is the ranch and bbq sauce, they are amazing. So forget what the haters and supposed locals say, go to the Double Z, get a burger and fries and prosper.

Lived in this town my whole life and there's no other better rustic BBQ in town the hot sauce and BBQ is the best I've ever had, it's a must try if you're in the boat. Love the chicken wings and the staff is amazing, go try it now what are you waiting for.

Cheap prices, huge portions, and outstanding BBQ food, this place is hands down the best place to eat in Steamboat when you factor in these three things! From their homemade sauces to golden brown french fries to die for. These guys have been in business for a long time and the food and constant local clientele goes to show for it. If you are visiting steamboat you MUST try the Z, you won't regret it.

This is one of a kind; local special!! I have loved this place since the day I moved here nearly 20 years ago, and every time I go in, NOTHING HAS CHANGED! I get what I like, and what I like is delicious to me!! Mmmm mmmm!

It all started on travels back from high-energy, athletic outings in the woods — hiking, backpacking, rock climbing — Double Z was there when we needed the full refuel.

Fast forward...
each time I was prego I would absolutely CRAVE the ultimate Z Burger!! Yah! And the fries and love their BBQ sauce. Yes!

Now...
it’s a family favorite for take out, ribs, burgers, fries, the works!

Great food and lots of it! The ribs and smoked chicken were off the chain. Matt’s sauce is awesome. I wish he would ship it!!!! Would definitely go back again.

OUTRAGOUSLY good food! It’s hard for me to eat a lot and I had no problem here. Super fresh bbq and great meat and service. Very private or social feeling depending where you sit in the restaurant. Loved it

My family and i eat here all the time, food is great and big portion sizes. The only bad thing is they never have any places to sit because it is so small and tight in there. There is 8 of us and they only have one spot we could fit so if its taken theres no where else to sit. We just order to go and take it home.

Really great BBQ and wings. Smaller space, but haven't had a problem getting a spot to sit. Bartender was very nice, and seemed like a fun person to talk with

When it comes to chicken wings, this is where you'll find the best in town. I've tried them all, from Soda Creek to Safeway, from Domino's to Dude and Dan's... And you just can't beat Double Z's.

Great atmosphere and nice people. Tables move quick, so be ready to get in and get out. Excellent food, worth any wait.
