Vaqueros Mexican Restaurant & Taqueria

Really good Mexican food. Homemade chips and salsa. Margaritas were good but a bit overpriced at $17. Super nice people and good service!

Our server, Sofia, was wonderful, pleasant, efficient, friendly. The food was above expectations, came out hot and quickly, delicious vegetarian options, the margarita was delicious. Great! we would go back again in a heartbeat. Has some unusual options I had not seen in a Mexican restaurant previously. Great atmosphere, too.

We sat at the bar, had excellent service, food and drinks. They have an extra large off menu margarita that is a must for a group. Reasonable prices for a ski town.

Great atmosphere when you walk in & up thcarnival. The decor is authentic latino from the seating to the pictures on the wall of owner and wife from Jalisco, Mexico.
The staff was very friendly, pleasant and attentive.
The food is excellent. We ordered carnitas. They offer 3 kinds of salsas. The Michelada was HUGE and tasty.

Great Mexican restaurants with a variety of different margs. Red Bull Marg was huge and tasty. A lot of different options for food here. Chimichanga was quite delicious. chips and salsa are good to. I would recommend giving Vaqueros a visit.

Compared to other Mexican restaurants where we ate, the food here was not great. The restaurant is nice and well decorated. The food I ate was dry and tasteless. We prefer to go to other restaurants during our stay here in Steamboat springs. Maybe it was just a wrong choice.

We decided to try again and realized that it was not worth 3 stars but 5. The first option was wrong The food is very good.

Totally recommend this place. Great environment/ambience! Super friendly workers. Not to mention the tasty food. I got the burrito ranchero and it tasted fresh, the pork was perfectly tender, and the chili verde sauce was fantastic. Tacos also good. Chips and salsa included free and they are great. Go here if you want a lot of food and lots of flavor.

Really impressed all around - not sure how this place doesn’t have a higher rating. Some of the best Mexican I’ve had in Colorado. Good value.

Came in for margs, stayed for dinner! Great casa migos skinny margs. Excellent service - thank you Jose and staff! Great fajitas, Guac, salsa and chile rellanos (soft). Authentic. Left to explore and came back for more. Excellent non-ski town prices.

Excellent local option with extensive menus and great staff. Everything tasted perfectly and the drinks were equally yummy! If you are staying for a trip or find yourself local, this is the spot to get to.

Comfortable, authentic, and delicious. This is THE spot for Mexican food in steamboat springs. The portions are huge, the drinks are strong, and everything is affordable. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

BEST. SALSA. OF YOUR LIFE. Every single detail is intentional. Every ingredient is perfect. From the minute you walk in, you feel you aren’t in Colorado anymore. Every waiter/tress (that we noticed) speaks Spanish. This is, in fact, the best thing, because you KNOW your about to experience true authenticity. Huge margaritas. I had shrimp tacos and they were QUALITY real shrimp, not that small frozen or ocean tasting shrimp most places dish out. Also... you might lose your mind over the refried beans. My bf ordered a second round of the beans, and one more of his Chorizo con papa tacos. 10000/10 Heaven is a place on Earth, and it’s at Vaqueros.

Carne Asada tacos were very good. Did not need any sauce on them as the steak was very juicy. Beans are different and very good as well.

The server was very friendly and welcoming, giving us conversation and helpful recommendations
The quesadilla was literally the best ive ever eaten and the taco salad had our mouths watering
The tequila is top shelf and definitely helped settle our very full stomachs (thanks to our server for the tip!)

Had a great meal here while enjoying early summer in Steamboat! Vaqueros is a great place to go and enjoy some excellent food. The servers are polite and adept at seeing to the needs of their customers. I would recommend Carne Asada and if you desire something lighter a Tostada combination.

I was very pleased, everything was delicious 😋 I'm from Gibsonton Florida I would love to have a Vaqueros Mexican Restaurant close to me. Thanks for the amazing service, they also serve very quick.

The food was great, the service was fast, and the Cadillac margarita was delicious. Not too sweet, and perfectly balanced

Authentic Mexican food. Visited for first time lunch with a friend. Decided to sit outside upstairs. Beautiful. It was empty and I have no clue why. It’s perfect up there. Also beautifully decorated inside. The alcoholic drinks were sizable and decently strong. Friend got a huge burrito, he loved it. Cleaned the plate, actually. I got carne asada tacos plate. My corn tortillas came with so much steak I couldn’t fit it all in the tacos. Just how I like it. The portions are perfectly Mexican, big and delicious. Authentic from the cooking staff, up to the servers and management. Staff was attentive and kind. This will be a staple restaurant for me.

Best chili verde I have had in years, and that is my go-to dish at Mexican restaurants. My friend’s carne asada was very good, and the queso was amazing.
