This place is so cool. The hot springs were perfect after a day on the slopes. And beyond just the hot springs, there's a creek that runs right by it that you can jump into to cool off. It's quite the temperature change with the springs being above 100°F and the creek around 40°F.

Highly recommend booking a shuttle to the location, as the road to it in the winter is restricted to vehicles with 4 wheel drive and/or tires with chains.

This is a natural hot spring. There are apparently a few rooms to rent but it's not a hotel and few guests stay in the rooms - I've never tried them.

You don't come here for the rooms or service (shuttle service is great though). It's all about the natural beauty and unique experience and they still have that. The changing areas can get hectic - wear easy but warm clothing.

Clean bathrooms but they're a bit of a walk.

I loved visiting here. I only went for the hot springs and drove myself up from Steamboat (the roads were mostly clean and I wasn't concerned about driving even though I have limited snow experience).

Would highly recommend bringing in water, they don't have areas to fill up. Once you get a reservation, you can stay as long as you'd like.

I loved this experience and would absolutely go back.

My friend from Colorado says that this is the best place to go for Hot Springs, and I cannot disagree with her! There is no odour to the hot springs like some places and has heated areas to change when you get there. Washrooms are also very clean. The hot springs pools have different levels of heat and lovely views. It cost $20.00 each to go in. Overall a very enjoyable experience!

I visited with a friend who was visiting from out of town. One of the best parts of our trip exploring Colorado in the winter.
Definitely need a four wheel drive. Don’t forget to bring cash for the entrance fee. I went during the day which I recommend especially for first timers.
You will not be disappointed the drive up is stunning lots of wildlife. Be careful the last few miles the road is narrow and traffic runs both ways on that narrow road.
If I remember correctly they do a bag check on the way in and I don’t think you can bring food in. I came with my suit on because the change area is not very private.

What an awesome experience! At the last minute my wife found this spring online and was able to book the last available reservation, and thank god she did! It was the perfect way to relax and unwind after skiing all morning. Awesome location at the end of a windy road in the middle of the mountains. On a 20 degree day in December, this water did not fall short of the “hot” variety. They have multiple pools, each allowing the water to cool down naturally to different temperatures, so you can jump around and heat up or cool off as desired. One important recommendation, which we did not have the foresight to do…. BRING A TOWEL AND DRY CLOTHES YOU CAN PUT ON EASILY! We made the mistake of not doing that, and getting out of the water and dried off in the 20 degree shade was quite the spectacle.

At night, the pools are very softly lit and vary in temperature. They are fabulous! The changing hut is pretty bare bones, and I didn't find a bathroom. They really mean it about having a 4wd with good snow tires or chains in the winter. Very treacherous roads when it snows. No photos after dark because clothing is optional. Sometimes that's a good thing. Sometimes not. 😉

This location is truly remarkable. Experiencing it amidst 10°F temperatures with a snowy backdrop was captivating. Its unspoiled nature stands out, as it doesn't succumb to the usual commercial trappings despite the influx of visitors. My time here was unforgettable. I particularly relished alternating between the hot, lukewarm, and cold pools.

A fun and relaxing experience, especially after a long day on the slopes! There are multiple pools - cold, warm, and hot, so you can choose according to your comfort level. My friends and I went at night, which made for great stargazing (saw a few shooting stars as well).

A couple of things to keep in mind -

1. You need to make a reservation in advance and pay in cash upon arrival.

2. There is a couple hundred foot walk from the parking lot to the changing cabin and the hot springs. I recommend leaving your heavy outer layers in your car - you can leave lighter clothing on a shelf in the changing cabin before continuing down to the changing cabin in a bathing suit.

3. I would keep your phone handy so that you have a flashlight on the walk from the changing cabin to the hot springs.

Excellent place to enjoy the hot springs, especially in the winter time. Now let me give you the best advice before you head out there: Make reservations before going and being cash. They dont accept cards. You actually do need snow tires or tires with chains around them. If its snowing, you will not make it safely. Pay for the shuttle instead. Download Google maps offline because there is no cell phone reception and my last piece of advice is to bring a towel and slippers!. Enjoy

Great experience at Strawberry Hot Springs.
Ross and Jeff were gracious and accommodating to our last minute requests. The hot springs were well maintained, felt clean, and it was a nice experience in nature.
Our experience wouldn’t have been what it was if it weren’t for Jeff, Dave and Ross. Many thanks!

What a special hot springs! Expect a small, low key place. Nestled in a steep-sided valley, the hot springs water mixes with stream water which the owners have channeled to mix in various pools of different temperatures. The pools have sandy/muddy bottoms which lends to the natural feel of the place.

The way that the hot springs manages the number of people who enter was nice because it kept it from feeling too crowded, especially because the pools are not large. Make sure to reserve a spot before going via their website. Payment is cash only

Visiting in the winter was interesting. There was ice on the sides but the spring pools were still very hot.

We did not visit after dark, but the mood is likely different then as clothing is optional at that point. 😅

We came at night, so no pictures, but it was an awesome experience! The springs are truly natural, unlike the other place in town. The pools vary in temperature, and are plenty big!

This is truly a natural/wilderness hot spring resort. There are no lights at night, so bring a flashlight, but be respectful and DONT shine it into the pools!

After dark, no children are allowed, and clothing is optional. The employees do keep the rules, to make it a more enjoyable experience for everyone.

If you're coming up in the winter, you'll need a 4x4 with snow tires or chains on the unpaved county road.

This place is gorgeous, clean and wonderful to visit. I went in the early fall, so it was not crowded, and I was able to get a reservation on a weekday and a reservation on a weekend. Also, because I went in the fall, I didn’t have to deal with the snow. If I was going when it was snowing out, I would definitely take the shuttle. There’s information on their website. I don’t have any photos to post because I’m not the type of person that goes into a hot tub situation and starts snapping photos. Frankly, I think that’s rude and please don’t. However, it’s as beautiful as the website to depicts & probably more so.

Went there for the night hot springs. They try to keep the light pollution as low as possible so you can enjoy the starry sky while relaxing. Also, the attendants are very helpful and got rid of some drunk folks who were trying to go in with alcohol. Glad they were on top of their game.

We just did a 2 hour time slot for the hot springs and it was magical! If you go after dark, bring a headlamp so you can see where you’re walking until you get to the hot spring. The check in people were nice and the process was easy. It’s $20 per person cash and you can reserve your spot online ahead of time.

1 more bucket list experience I can mark off the list. It is just as beautiful as the pictures, I think the shuttle company was a great way to get to the springs and was worth the money. Bring a plastic bag, robe and water shoes it will make your trip more enjoyable. We will be back

What an amazing experience! Nature at its best! If you're looking for a commercial pool this isn't it. This is Gods country and natural very warm hot springs. Multiple
Different level natural stone pools, a large cool pool, and a super cold plunge pool. We went in the heart of December and appreciated the rustic, clean changing facilities. Spent 4 days crushing Steamboat skiing and this was the best way to end this trip. My 8 year old loved it and we were gone by dark before its clothing optional. You need a rez. Cash only.

This place was awesome. What a beautiful drive just to get there. We went the first weekend of October and it was beautiful. The aspens were golds and yellows. The hot spring pools were amazing. They have warm, hot and hotter pools and even a cold pool too. Which was great for a good cool down therapy session. Make sure you go online and book your reservations before you go. This place absolutely deserves a comeback for sure.

Nice place to wind down. Three pools with different water temperatures so you can take a pick. Clothing is optional after dark but authorities are strict about sneaking in alcohol. They check your bags. A very relaxing environment overall.
