Hot Dog Academy

Ahh the prestigious Hotdog Academy, what’s not to love? It starts with industry leading hospitality, they took me off the streets and gave me the biggest room in the house, weighted blanket included. With daily lessons in all things hotdogs, including but not limited to, history, composition, nutrition, and the many preparations (burrito wrapped hot dog was a personal favorite), the academia offered here is second to none. After morning hotdog lessons followed by champagne powder laps, you’re welcomed home to a state of the art hot tub for some much needed R&R. Nightly games are a staple and are to be taken seriously, winners only. 12/10 would recommend this institution to anyone looking for the best of the best in Steamboat Springs.

Could not have asked for a better experience! The hosts are fabulous chefs (not fabulous cleaners, but have outsourced such tasks to the unwavering Roomba). The keg parties are excellent, although the mornings after are equally terrible. No better way to spend a long day on the slopes than marinating in the hot tub (water after usage may be dirtier than hot dog water - would not drink either). 10/10 🌟 !

Two days and eight nights into a seltzer fueled fever dream, I stumbled upon the Academy. I was taken in by a level-5 Paladin and nursed to health on a diet of horse tranquilizer. I owe these pleasant woodland creatures my life.

To quote the world renowned statistician Guy Fieri, the Hot Dog Academy “is pretty neat” (Epic of Gilgamesh, 2:4:54). To quote my other personality, Dunkan, “LET ME OUT, SOMEONE LET ME OUT!!!”

The gentlemen and lady here have not just an absolute obsession over hotdogs but also Kodiak pancakes, and the fallout that occurs afterwards...Otherwise, they push hard for the free refills of powder and keeping the Mexican train alive. Make sure you say over, over.

Despite its name, you in fact cannot find interpretive dance lessons here. Disappointed. Compelled not to waste the 22 hour drive, I made the most of their lackluster antique restoration services. Be careful though, the owners have a water fetish paralleled only by the interrogators at Guantanamo Bay.

Avoid like the plague, stay for the pandemic. 5 stars.

The hot dog academy is an absolutely wonderful place with wonderful people. I stayed for a long weekend and the Hot Dog Academy did not disappoint. I would give the place 10 starts if I could!

10 out of 10 would recommend if you love being tangled among hairy legs (minus Emma) in a luke warm hot tub with no bubbles and always talking about hotdogs but never actually eating them.

Would’ve given 5 stars but had to give 4 due to COVID infested individuals. Overall the food was solid and entertainment unbeatable. Drama was consistently in the air and it was hard to tell if the cause was the COVID or the subtle gasoline leak. Truly 1.5 weeks we will treasure forever. would stay again.
