Mills River Restaurant

Ya know that ol adage "don't judge a book by it's cover?" Well, here's a prime example. The skeptic in me was concerned when we pulled in, but the Google reviews gave me hope as we walked on it. It is one of the cleanest, "home-iest" little restaurants. The wait staff was super friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and appropriately priced. Definitely glad we tried this place out!

My wife had the deviled crab in the shell. I had the pastitsio. Both were delicious.
Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and speedy. We had cannoli and triple chocolate cake for dessert. Wonderful!
The restaurant is bright and one of the cleanest most orderly restaurants I’ve been in ever.
Some has been made of the owner being grumpy. He’s a hard working person who runs a long time family restaurant 14 hours a day, 7 days a week. I’m sure he gets tired. He’s another baby boomer who’s probably in need of some consideration and respect for his hard work and many years lived. So give it while enjoying your food in this bright, clean, well run local gem.

First time to eat here and we left satisfied. We love what we ordered, Fried Alaskan Whitefish and Fried Flounder. We will come back and try other food in the menu. Salar bar was good too!! Service was great.

On trip from Florida with my wife and 4 kids. Absolutely amazing experience here. Food was amazing. We all like to try each others food in the family and I could not believe how amazing everything was. Our server Sasha was extremely kind and kept our drinks topped off proper. Salad bar is great. Food came out super fast for the whole family hot and delicious. I’m impressed. Too bad this place isn’t in Florida or they’d have a new regular.

First time at this locally owned restaurant and hopefully not the last time here. One of the best homemade hamburgers I have had in a very long time. This was the Cowboy burger that came with cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce, onion rings, tomato, pickles, onion and mayo. Two sides were some really good french fries and a small side of sweet cole slaw. Almost more yummy food than I could put away but I gave it my best shot. Looking for an excuse to get back over to this place located just southwest of Asheville NC.

Looking for a local home town country cooking restaurant? This is it! Great food and prices are very reasonable. The staff is very friendly. They have a great variety of home style meals and a loaded salad, pasta and dessert bar.

What a wonderful restaurant to find near Hendersonville NC! My husband and I split the Bourbon hamburger, it was incredibly delicious and plenty big enough for 2! Crispy, crunchy fries were a great side dish! My friend got the chicken livers and said they were a bit overdone but were incredibly tasty! A definite must dine restaurant!

My family of 35 dined here for our family Christmas. The first was delicious, the salad bar is outstanding and the staff made us feel like family. We will come back as often as possible.

The food was great, everything was fresh and delicious and there was almost no wait. The salad bar is well stocked and includes dessert and premade salad options, as well as since really yummy homemade croutons. We'll be back for sure!

This place has just about every sort of cuisine you can think of! Greek, Italian, American, Seafood, and stir fry! They have a decent salad bar and the staff is very friendly. The owner was very nice as well. We dropped in 2 hours before closing on a Tuesday, restaurant wasn’t busy and it was quiet! Right near Asheville Airport!

Food was delicious. Fried flounder sandwich,open face with lettuce and tomato,side of Cole slaw. Best fried flounder I have had in long time. Slaw was delicious.

It's an absolute joy to be a part of the family atmosphere and down home cooking that Mills River Restaurant has to offer. The staff is absolutely delightful, and is one of the best groups of people Western NC has to offer. Fast service, friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and have wonderful personalities and smiles to match! One thing is for sure, THEY TRULY DO CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS! One of the only restaurants around that literally everything on the menu is delicious... YOU CAN'T BEAT THE HOMEMADE COOKING THAT YOU'LL FIND HERE!They truly put a little love in everything that they do. So glad we stumbled upon this hidden little gem! If we were local, we would eat here all the time! It’s a great family-owned restaurant and the quality really shows in the service, cleanliness and taste of the food. Our waitress ARICKA FISHER was amazing! Super attentive and friendly, so make sure and ask for her for great service. The owner Angelo was also so welcoming, he made us feel so welcome and like part of the family. My family and I all had different seafood dishes and they were delicious! The salad bar was the cherry on top of it all!
